Was really surprised more teams weren't in for him when he moved to Juve. feck, I wish we signed him... Especially now Song has gone.

Getting Chile: Man United monitoring Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal

The dynamic midfielder is also on the radar of Manchester City and Real Madrid - while at around £40million he won't come cheap

More Vidal: Juve midfielder celebrates scoring against Chelsea
Manchester United are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to reports from Italy.

The Chile international scored for the Serie A champions against Chelsea in the opening group game of the Champions League last week.

The 25-year-old began his career in Europe with a four-year spell with Bayern Leverkeusen, helping the German side to a second placed finish in the Bundesliga before earning a £10.5m move to the Old Lady.

United are understood to be impressed by the dynamic midfielder as they continue to search for a central player in the Roy Keane mould. The club are reported to have contacted Juventus about Vidal's availabilty.

However, United are expected top face competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City in the chase for the player who is valued at £40m by Juventus.

It has been suggested that Juventus would be willing to accept an offer close to that figure, and would not stand in the player’s way should a considerable offer come in from Spain or England.

No chance Juve would sell him. Which is a shame, as he looks like the final piece in our jigsaw.

Juventus recently bought him. He ain't going nowhere. He's settled in Italy and is playing with the top club there.

He is a great player, love the guy. Was a steal for Juve, and we missed on a great value in the market.

Just hope we find a way fo getting revenge at Juve by tapping up and poaching a player of theirs but definitely not for 40 million quid. Would be brilliant to poach one of their best players though and offer higher wages too to make sure we get them

Juve are more willing to let Pogba go than Vidal, let's go for him.

Absolute colossus of a footballer. Always unlikely we would get him from Juve but I always had a slight hope :(

I'm glad this has been resolved. Vidal is our best player. He can do everything and is a huge fan favourite.

The most complete midfielder in the world at the moment.

Our lack of interest in him when he was at Leverkusen baffles me.
Not even the most complete midfielder at Juve. Our lack of interest at that time was baffling though.

After Buffon retires, its going to be a difficult choice between him, Chiellini and Barzagli? for the next captain.

Chiellini I think will get it. He's vice Captain now isn't he?

He would have been absolutely spot on for us. Quite tragic he went so cheap and we never batted an eyelid

Considering how little business we've done with clubs from certain nations I wouldn't be surprised that SAF showed little interest in those league overall and that we didn't get consistent scouting done in those areas.

Heinze, Evra, Kagawa, Pogba and Hargreaves is all I can think off from France or Germany. Taibi and Veron might have put us off Italy. Can only think of a few youngsters coming from that area. Spain is definitely on the radar and has been for a little while.

There must as least be some reason why the spotlight hasn't been on the places very much.

When Medel and Vidal were still playing in Chile, i send an email to Utd recommending them... but probably went straight to the webmaster junk mail.

 At least you tried man! Hard to believe that Fergie didn't at least scout Vidal, regardless of the quotes suggesting otherwise. Colossal player who would have been ideal for us.

Finally a player who lived up to his FM potential. Top guy, always signed him in FM.

He's faster, stronger, scores more goals, better tackler, can play in more positions and is currently, without question, THE best central midfielder in the world. Anything else you need?

I rate Busquets and Schweinsteiger over him.
