Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

I like it so far. I just hope it doesn't turn out like Smallville.

It's absolutely gash. I watched it last night after someone recommended I try out Archer but I was pissed and downloaded the wrong one.

Watch more, gets better.

Enjoyed the episode and the Laurel thing makes more sense. I like how they did it this week (and actually looking back at last weeks, it wasnt how I remembered it so fair play to them).

Knew there had to be more to Chase, glad there is because he was otherwise a pointless character.

Really enjoy the stuff with Maseo and Tatsu too.

Seriously, Thea is not scared of Ra's just because Merlyn told her some philosophical mumbo jumbo during their training. If they show her fighting on par with the League, it'll be beyond ridiculous.

Thea, as a character, has always been fairly over confident.

To become proficent at fighting doesn't take that long, to get to an elite level sure but enough to hold your own, could be done over a coupla months no problem. The fact she's like 5'4 and weights about 8 stone is more of an issue than skill or practice time

I wonder if there's a chance that this will come back to haunt her. I know Malcolm is probably meant to be a villain throughout, but it'd be quite interesting if her cockiness meant that he had to fight someone from the league (most likely Ra's), to protect her.

She'd then lose him (another member of her family) because of her hubris, and there'd be a chance at some redemption for him.

It won't happen, but it's fun to armchair write.

The League are filled with professional assassins that could hold off the Mirakuru army last season, Thea shouldn't even stand a chance against them.

Thea is an idiot basically. She has no idea who the league are and won't listen to her Dad. Its fairly simple.

Arrow is a lot of fun especially past the first half of season 1

Thea being overly confident is not a problem. She doesnt know who they are so stands to reason she believes her dad shouldnt be scared given what hes done.

Heeees back. Awesome. Really liked that episode. Liked his speech, and the other characters have done a good job in his absence.

Damnit Felicity, stop your whining. haha. I want her to go back to the Felicity from the first two seasons, I dont like emotional "olicity" or whatever its called.

Also noticed when Brick shot that first guy in his office, you can see him crawling out. Surprised nobody noticed that when editing the show.

Merlyn is a great character and I liked his flashbacks. Interesting to see his motivations and how hes trying to get redemption. Will also be fun seeing him train Arrow and should hopefully see some more flashbacks esp his time at LoA.

I liked it apart from the thugs vs residents of the glades battle, the criminals are meant to have guns, so that was really dumb.

You can even hear him.

There's been some bad and lazy writing lately. As mentioned above, the thugs vs residents, Felicity is basically just whining 90% of the time, Laurel fighting crime after taking a few boxing lessons, etc. I hope they sort it out soon.

At least they made a comment on the show about Laurel and "damn he must be a good trainer" and seeing Wildcat take down Brick before being dominated was pretty cool. Hope hes kept as a hero / vigilante.
With Laurel at least shes still getting beaten up / stabbed / bruised a lot.

No Ray Palmer but hoping to see more of him soon too.

Yeah the criminals in a Police warehouse or whatever it was, coming out without guns (except Brick) was weird. Then again, its comic book world, I kinda preferred that. I actually thought this episode would build to next weeks episode where they finally have a fight, still be out numbered and Arrows return would turn the tide. TBH, they were winning without Arrow (queen) anyway haha.

Yea I'm glad that Olie's back, show was somewhat dull without him imo. I didn't like the scene when those two groups stood in front of each other, some with the guns and instead of simply shooting they went for the melee fight or had to come 2 yards away to shoot

Agree that Wildcat is a pretty likeable character, would be shame if they didn't continue his plot. Not sure how I feel about Merlyn training Green Arrow though.

Love the show, but the worst part was when Captain Lance recognized Roy Harper through his mask, like he was stupid to wear it. "don't you think I cant recognise you with that mask on?!". Only to be fooled by Oliver queen and his own daughter, 2 people he has known for a long time  ridiculous.

@Adam-Utd
At least his daughter (well daughters) wear wigs and he hasnt really seen them close by since Sarahs death so had nothing to suspect it was now Laurel. Well now he does haha.

And well, Roy hes seen with a hoodie and shoot arrows (he said that right)? Ollie he has no reason to suspect. Although surely Thea should suspect it. Arrow and Ollie both return on the same day? haha.
And tbf, he did suspect it was Ollie but then Dig as arrow threw him off that and now he doesnt really care.

Wildcat is most probably gone, the actor is signed on to another series.

Aw thats a shame. He could be a good addition to this series imo. Hopefully if hes seigned on to another series, hes at least filmed quite a few more episodes for this season.

Captain Lance knew it was Oliver, he just doesn't want to confirm it as it allows him to say truthfully he doesn't know who the Arrow is and if he ever gets hauled in court, he can deny he knows without lying.

Fair enough guys, I just thought it was a pretty pointless and stupid line to put it. It throws the whole point of wearing a disguise in the bin really.

Good episode and a lot happened.

Laurel steps out of her sisters shadow and stops trying to be her and will be herself whilst still being Canary
Ollie revealed his secret to Thea
Chase is dead (glad hes gone, though I was expecting him to be more interesting once everybody fond out - but bleh - he was a crap character anyway)
Lance finding out Sarah is dead (good scene)
The group pretty much standing up to Ollie, not as it was before he "died" a second time.

Also I like Merlyn. Badass character.

Next weeks episode will be interesting. They will have flashbacks in the City and real time on the Island haha.

Slaaaaaaaaaaaaaade!!!
Nobody else watch this weeks ep? Actually seems nobody watched last weeks either?

Slade is still my fav badguy. Hope we see more of him, think he needs to be free.

Was nice to see Flashback tommy too.

Funniest moment was in the flashback, when Maseo said Ollie almost got caught, Ollie said he had his hood down and Maseo replied with "doing that and even smearing your eyes wont fool anybody" rofl.

Watched both, I'm afraid that I'm slowly losing some interest in it due to high expectations created by the way the Flash is panning out. I felt that today's episode was a bit shit, of course, Slade and all that is cool but Jesus, that pre-comeback story of Oli and how he worked for Waller is getting tiresome as feck and actually lasted like half of the episode today. Maybe ATOM will kick it up a little bit.

I fully expect there to be some kind of a crossover of Flash and Arrow in a month or two by the way.

There has to be. What im intrigued is if in Flash past events are affected, how it affects Arrow and Starling City.

Yeah looking forward to more ATOM.

My problem with the flashback was how they kinda just shoehorned in Felicity. They should have never gone with Felecity and Ollie as a couple or any romance link there.

think they were trying to show why Ollie approached Felicity in Season 1 for help he required for computer related stuff. Would have been better though if they had Felicity showing her wizardry with computers

Think its fair to say, theyre doing a very loose adaptation of the "flashpoint" storyline, in flash. If you dont know the story, spoilers below:

Long story short, The Flash goes back into time to save his mum, successfully. However, like all things time travel, it changes everything. Theres a war on earth between aquaman and wonder woman (1st problem with doing it in arrowverse), Thomas Wayne is Batman, Bruce died that night and his wife is the Joker (Suppose, olivers father could become arrow), and the flash loses his powers. Oh yeah, supermans actually a likeable superhero too.

The main issue with this story is 1, theres a whole roster of characters that havent been introduced into arrowverse, a few of them arent even allowed. And 2, with that said, green arrow really plays no part in the story ironically. But i can see it happen, albeit with a lot of changes:

Scrap the war with aquaman and wonder woman, obviously. It just needs to be some sort of conflict on a grand scale. Make Olivers father the arrow, in place of batman. Dont really need superman character if we're doing bare basics. The likes of arsenal, diggle, laurel and thea will all have their part to play.

Regardless of what happens, my prediction is that this will all lead to the reverse flash that night (and Harrison Wells) revealed as Barry Allen.

This post was definitely better suited to the flash thread, oh well.

We definitely agree on this you and me. Arrow is good but Flash is just way better and has many more interesting characters ( I even like Joe the cop in Flash where I hate the other who is always crying in Arrow). Harrison Wells is for me, the best character of the two show combined, they really have done a good job with him.

Aye, agree with that.

@SalfordRed18 Yup, I've watched Flashpoint but I do think that it's plot (or something alike due to lack of characters available for Flashpoint) would be somewhat too 'complicated' for most of the audience, if that makes any sense. I think that it will be some tougher foe of either Flash (Reverse Flash or some enemy that will be introduced soon) or Arrow (R'as al Ghul maybe although it would be a bit weird with R'as and no Batman to be fair) and they'll just throw the happy bunch from Arrow in (including Atom) and probably add Barry.

Thank god, latest episode was really good, as ever since fight with Ras al Ghul all episodes where really boring , should build up now for the 21-22 episode finale

Still not up to speed on Arrow … it's developing nicely but only in a tick the names off the list way! Am about the same way into Gotham (16 episodes) and I think that's got much more … something  however have noted a lot of people say that Arrow picks up about half way into season one so I'll be patient and see.

It defo does pick up (kinda like Agents of Shield too).

Looking forward to see what they do with Ra's al Ghul and the pending fight with the Queens (and possibly Malcolm)

Any episode with Crixus in it scores an automatic high in my book!

Read a really ridiculous rumour that Diggle's real name is Hal Jordan (Green Lantern). Anyhow, looking forward to seeing what they do with Malc Merlyn and whether we'll get some more extended scenes involving Thea's low-cut shirts.
