Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

Messy episode. Strangely I quite liked the felicity monologue over Team Arrow just shooting random badguys (and Vigilante killing that one badguy who is meant to be important but not important enough that his name hardly gets mentioned). It was a different view of something weve seen so many times.
What I didnt like was her 'this is all my fault' speech to Dig. ffs, that again.

Im not sure how I feel about Vigilante being some undercover dude given the actual behaviour of him so far this season. It seems messy.

Frank Pike just randomly dies. Hasnt he been around forever? I know hes not a main character but that just felt weird.
As does how Dig and Wild Dog just straight out kill people. Its not even trying to stop them as good guys. They are basically doing what they were disgusted at Vigilante for doing last season. I might have missed something though.

They really have no idea what to do with Thea do they? They are using her cos... shes there. But shes also kinda not doing anything.

I also wanna see how the whole Cayden James story turns out before commenting but right now im not convinced they will pull of whatever they are trying. So he lost his son a year ago to the day of that episode and clearly arrow was framed. But it just seems messy.
Speaking of which, Oliver is still under investigation right? So where is that FBI woman? Where are her team? Also this city is being attacked and no FBI presence to help them?

So catching up. Given the activity in this, I can see most people are about as enthusiastic as me on watching it as soon as its out

The flashbacks for Vince and Dinah were pretty pointless given they just basically gave us what we already knew. Given the flashbacks, I kinda had a feeling what would happen (though not how it would happen).
Its the 'Walking Dead focus on a character' style thats annoying.

Im kinda confused still. They talk about vigilantes way and him killing people. But what have Dig and Wild dog been doing (as mentioned in my previous post). Do they have stun guns cos they sure as hell look like real guns. Has this been mentioned and I totally forgot? hmm

You know I always presumed they were just really good shots and stuck it in the shoulder or somewhere less harmful somewhat like Oliver does. I think a lot of the guys they shoot have body armour on as well so they maybe just get winded.

Although....Oliver used a guy as a human shield a few weeks ago and that dude took about 6 shots to the chest from a rifle so surely he’s dead.

I just feel that the sidekicks ruined it all. It was better when it was Oliver and Digg and the occasional black canary or Niza al Ghul. Because those characters they introduced suck so bad. I kinda feel like they are trying to do something like Cival war splitting them apart from the inside and as of yet the real big bad hasn’t been revealed and Kaden is just another pawn, yet a smart pawn.

I quit for the second or third time 3-4 episodes ago. It's trash that needs to end. Started watching Black Lightning, which is a million times better.

Felicity has been ruining the show for 3-4 seasons. It should have been her that they killed off not Laurel. She is very unlikable and a bit selfish.

Fact. It's all about her and it's been that way for years. She has become incredibly selfish and unlikable. But the show has been rubbish for 3-4 years now with weak storylines making each season more painful than the next...

Nah, remember Oliver at beginning of last season (i think) said killing is back on the table. And it just seems out right strange that its pretty much all guns blazing. I saw a video on youtube called if arrow was honest and it was hilarious (cos some of the voices were good) but true too.

I had no issue with some of the new cast last season. If they were looking for a split they really needed Dig or Felicity against Oliver. Its almost like they are trying to make us hate the newbies so that they get wiped out and its big, but meh, show goes on.
I think one of them needed to die on the island.

Last season was probably strongest since s2.

I think that was only for Prometheus. Because Lance would be on his case if he was dropping bodies. He I think has only killed 4 people since he swore against it for Tommy? The Count, Darhk, Ras, felicitys BF. That’s it is it not? Pretty sure he ain’t dropping bodies now.

To each their own. I'll be surprised if Arrow is renewed.

In my opinion 'Legends of Tomorrow' is the best CW show. Has got better with each season.

True, I liked last season. This season however has been shocking imo. Also agree with LoT being the best CW show. For me since they got rid of the hawk people and got a better villain than it became awesome.

Arrow this season has been all over the place. The villains actor is great but the villain itself isnt intriguing. Then hes surrounded by a bunch of jobbers (Legion of Whom is still a great name)
Its such a shame as after this season we would have had 3 good seasons and 3 crappy seasons.

They arent making a big deal out of it anyway. but it all seems weird. Mad dog for example, hes certainly shooting them with bullets

I thought that episode was alright. I actually thought the main villain would be the girl in the bunker with them. Still kinda feel it is going to be her.

Six seasons in and the under lying story line is man wants to take over city. Time to retire the show

It’s kind of the most common storyline in any comic. Well either that or destroy the city. Some dream bigger and think world or universes but basically all the same story no?

@Schmiznurf yeah I think a lot of stuff is on break for the olympics and a few start after it’s finished. Did see LOT starts Monday tho. CW surely can’t have that much faith in it although it’s comfortably been the best show this season.

Yeah, damn Olympics. I woke up today expecting to watch Agents of Shield, Taken, Blindspot, Hawaii Five 0 and Blue bloods but all are on break until March 2nd.
Decided to check Arrow too because of LOT being back Monday and that is as well.

I suppose it will give me a chance to catch up on all my movies.

No agents of shield is killing my early morning Saturday vibes. Guess this will clear a bit more time to as you said catch up on other stuff. Maybe I could improve myself and learn another language in the time period. 45 minutes a day maybe.

That would have made the most sense
The protege sets up the mentor
In fact it's surely the only way to save this season

Because wow did they make cayden into a chump the last two esp
I actually joked when they did the flashbacks showing his human side "well hes dead" And yep, they actually did that
The smartest man there gets duped by a jabronie who a few eps ago couldn't fight his way out a paper bag but now suddenly is going head to head with Dig

I wish they had actually had build for this dude and had him as a close number 2 for cayden. The betrayal could have been told better
Every time he appears I'm like who the F is he? The only one more useless than him so far was the dude vigilante shot
Dinah was working for Diaz? That ending was so anticlimatic:confused:
Don't think they meant dinah
Think they meant that new woman who took charge over that other dude who died in the elevator
Don't even remember their names that's how significant they are

Also arrow uses flash to put him in front of a car
But not to do a city wide search of where a bomb could be located

And even if the timeline is screwed and this is when barry is in prison, this flash is a man that managed to go China and back before a camera rotated...

I’m still hopeful it’s the girl. She’s just embedded herself in team arrow and is orchestrating everyone as really she is the only character I would believe is capable of doing so. Plus something tells me that guy doesn’t have the skill to doctor a video to that level. Although he’s quite a high profile actor for TV things. He’s in loads of stuff and is normally really good so I’d always thought his character was more than it seems although kinda seems exactly the same to his character in Kingdom. That MMA show with Frank Grillo, Nick Jonas and that. Anyway, maybe they are in a relationship or something but then maybe it’s that lady from the FBI and they wanted to flush Oliver out and have orchestrated all this.

I was thinking that Barry thing was naff. Like how did they get the message to him. Never called prison but I imagine it’s difficult to get through right away to the prisoner you want and all that rubbish. They would have been better to just get Cisco to vibe them there. It was stupid anyway.

Edit: forgot Barry is free now ain’t he. Shows how much attention I paid to that flash ep.

This is honestly the first episode where i've hated team arrow and thought they were a bunch of cnuts.
Haha I was kinda hating the other bunch more. In general both sides were all cnuts.

Good episode, looking forward to how things will play out. Was expecting an end scene of Laurel coming through for them with the cash.

Yeah, I see that Dinah is being one too to be honest, she needed to calm the shit down. But them coming into their bunker like they own the place, hated it.

Yeah I find Dinah super annoying. I actually hate that trio and don’t see why they are even in Arrow but I could really do without Dinah moaning 24/7.

Walking in the bunker like they own the place I can sort of understand as they suspect they are away to kill Laurel, but if you’re going to do that at least slap Renae about a bit. Also was it just me or was anyone else picking up romantic vibes between Quentin and other Laurel? Is it still incest if she is from another world? Now that would be some hell of a storyline

Needs to be cancelled. Arrow reminds me of watching the 9th season of Scrubs but for 4-5 season now.

HOSS!!!

It's easy, just get rid of Laurel/Captain Lance/Felicity/Dinah/ Oliver's son (whose name I don't even wanna remember). Just kill off the worst characters and the show instantly improves.

The Lance and Laurel things creeps me out. Shes not your daughter, FFS, man.

Yeah, exactly! She's done many horrible things, killed many people and still he wants to redeem her :wenger: ? The whole thing screams of the writers wanting to keep the actress on the show since they signed her as a regular cast (I think) no matter what. Maybe they shouldn't have killed off the original Black Canary. I've never really understood the point of that, it could have been avoided while giving Oliver and Sara other reasons to truly hate Damien Darkh. I mean Green Arrow and Black Canary have this amazing chemistry in the comics, why would you not wanna have that on the show instead of forcing fecking Felicity down our throats ....

And the episode ended with
her calling herself "Laurel Lance"
FFS. I never really liked Laurel (the original), this one is better but there seems to be no place for her in the show.

They should have just made this laurel and anti hero instead of this shit they are doing

This show is actually making me hate every character and wishing Prometheus had won last season

Or being back deathstroke

So watched the latest episode, and mostly liked it. Not sure if it was great, but then again, comparing it to the majority of the season, thats probably what helped it.
It seemed a simple story which helped progress things.

Speedy returned, Roy returned (but not really arsenal). Not sure if he will be around any more episodes, but would be nice for him to have one more episode where he can do that.
No rene calling everybody a hoss every 2 minutes really helped (strangely I liked him beginning of this season but they ruined his character)
Dinah being less her usual self helped too.
Different specialty arrows (big fan of fireworks arrow).
Quentin wasnt super creepy with fauxlaurel.

The only thing I wish they would stop doing is the stuff with Laurel, is she or isnt she bad? Its like every moment they wanna do a twist and make you question it. Its boring and they just need to stick with something.
And Diaz is some super power know-it-all controlling everything yet a few eps ago the city was going to explode and he was willing to let it happen putting faith into TeamArrow to stop it? And he somehow lets money get taken by Laurel? Geez.
