Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

Something will happen whereby it ends up with little Billy wanting Oliver to be the Green Arrow again...

That whole William on the phone scene had me wishing a jet engine would fall out of the sky and land on him,Damn I hate that kid.

I honestly don't think they know what to do with this show anymore, it seems to be so muddled and confused, they need to a crisis on infinite earths and just retcon 90% of it.

Everyweek in the titles they mention, he tries not to kill people, Wild dog and Diggle kill 2-3 people an episode.

Too many side characters with uninteresting story, I think I hate all the team, I might have a stroke if I have to hear Felicity talk about servoing up the RAM CPU to hack the firewall in a toaster one more time.

The joke is the most interesting storylines they have this year are Oliver being investigated by the FBI and him having a relationship with his son. It's just been horrifically handled, you could do so much with both of them, but I swear to god we've watched about 5 times more minutes on the same 3 conversations over and over, Felicity's start up, Diggle's hand jitters and scenes of Oliver not being the Green Arrow.

That island explosion killed a grand total of 1 character no-one gave a shit about, there are zero stakes on this show. They've neutered Oliver's character so many times by having so many other characters take his position to give them something to do, to the point where now he isn't rich, doesn't even have a real mission anymore and isn't the green arrow on his own show. Also their need to crowbar in a villain of the week is the true weakness of the 22 episode one arc TV show.

Thats probably one of the worst mid season finales tht Arrow or even a Arrowverse show has given us.
Nothing was surprising.
Well except the ending with the Legion of Heel Jobbers, but even then I was like who the feck is that guy? to a few of them.
It wasnt exactly like when the villains came together in Legends.
Even the main villain is bleh. I like the actor, but were half way through a season and not much has really progressed.

Having Oli not trust his team... again.
This show has not been handled well since the awesome finale of last season. Such a shame. (I know were only half way through a season, and I was hoping it was leading somewhere, like an awesome mid season finale, but im not really bothered about the wait).

Wow. That mid season final sucked so hard.

- Cayden James is a terrible. What a boring villain
- Rene snitching on Oliver (was not even remotely build up at all) It was completely random and made zero sense). Oliver spying on his team and Smoak and Diggle hardly apologetic about it.

- Odd how quickly Oliver was to accuse his team almost as if he read the script of the episode.

- Dinah and her creepy friend. We hardly know enough about him or what he means to her and we learn oh he is working with Cayden James. Along with others this whole episode sucked and made no sense. The only part I could stomach was the scenes with Laurel and her dad (sort of) at least that made some sense, the rest of this episode was shambles.

Oliver gets all high and mighty when it comes to his relationship with his son, but doesn't seem to care at all about his teammates' relationships with their kids. First Diggle and now Rene, at least their kids aren't whiny little twats like Oliver's son is.

As soon as it was revealed there was a traitor in the team it was so unbelievably obvious I nearly spewed all over my legs when it played out.

Also when the Legion of Whom gathered at the end, who was the fella next to Dragon? No memory of him at all.

The drug dealer that Diggle was using.

Jesus it was so fecking idiotic it's hard to believe  Channeling that fecking shite Damien Darhk season right there.

They've gone full emo Oliver right there like he was a fecking 12 year old. It's only about half a year ago when he fecked up some mission to help Felicity help that Helix chick stealing some shit.

Also this obvious hint at Roy's comeback from Thea was really, really poor too. Come to think about it, Cayden is incredibyl fecking boring too.

A vigilante named Vigilante is on a team of criminals. Also I jJust had a look on IMDB and the guy I couldn't place is apparently called Boots.

Biggest hypocrite ever indeed.

Legion of Whom, ahaha!

Boots? Are you serious

Fake Laurel softening up due to Lance or is it just another long con?

Their scenes were actually good imo. I actually had no issue with it as I thought it was well done. But now I dunno if its cos it was in comparison next to the rest of the episode or because it was actually good. Actually Lance giving his watch to Oli was a nice moment too.

Dig not backing Canary was just mind boggling. He was acting like he couldnt trust her, a few weeks after he was putting the team in jeapordy himself by keeping his own secret. If anything, he should have had more sympathy for her.

I swear the writing for Felicity (and iris in flash) has to be intentional to try and make us hate them. Cos its the stupidest thing if its not some sort of backstage sabotage.

And I thought you were the most positive one for the DC shows haha

I tend to give them benefit of the doubt for long term story. And after s5, I was thinking, ok S6 has some end game.
This however? Bloody heck.

I look for the positive having endured going to OT for a few years under Moyes and then LVzzz. This is always excellent in comparison. However stupidity is stupidity. And wow, this show often goes towards then everytime they think its a good idea to have Felicity and Oliver together doing stupid stuff.

For the show to improve, they really need to kill Felicity and have Oliver go mad.

Just seen the episode. Never liked the additions to the team. Curtis is OK, but the rest are meh and not very interesting. Not the end of the world if they never came back.

Vigilante: But Vigilantes are criminals...

Eh? Erm... ok.
I am assuming theres a long con by him cos its just silly that he joined this group. There has to be a plan, right?

Anyway, I thought the episode was ok. Im kinda glad they went with the newbies of Team arrow staying on their own cos last thing we needed is the midseason finale meaning nothing now.

I did like some of the lines in the show.
Like 'a flashlight in the sky displaying an arrow'
and
'im so sick of nobody killing him'

I also liked Evil Laurel blowing kisses  It was so insane that I thought it worked.
I was watching the Legion of Jobbers and was like 'who the f is that; again? Its only when I re-read this thread I realised I did that in the finale too lol.
Thought it was better than Flash this week though not as good as Supergirl and esp Black Lightning.

Im still not sure what I think of James. I guess i need to see the whole season play out, but after following a villain like prometheus, he just looks like a nobody who is meant to be smart but does stupid things but gets away with it cos Team Arrow do stupid things too.

Holy shit, I know right. Surely it's better to work with vigilantes as they go after criminials than actual criminals, such a flawed thing for him to say.

@Sylar that guy the 2nd in command, isn’t he the guy who had his lips stitched together in prison. I think he has been in 3 separate story lines, I could be totally wrong but I think he was in the Darhk series and also in an episode as his own villain.

Man, I hate the trio of shit superheroes. They're so fecking annoying, can't understand the writing there.

This is the things. Ive said it before, the way these shows (And most comic stuff) is due to the villains. You need intriguing villains.
For me Deathstroke and Prometheus were the best and thus the seasons were great.
Darkh was good but the writing was terrible but he was redeemed in Legends.
Ra's wasnt portrayed well in Arrow (in Gotham show thought it was quite awesome).
These current villains look like cheap versions of top villains. I cant remember anything about them and dont really know their motivations. It might get fleshed out but its been half a season and its been meh.

I bet they thought that line would be so cool said by him

If only they had someone tell them it was lame.

Agree with the villains. Problem is with the DC movie train starting up they aren’t allowed to use certain people. Like originally Harley Quinn is in one of the suicide squad episodes. You never see her but you hear her and deadshot tells Diggle no not her when he is setting them free. That scene has now been cut and any suggestion of Harley ever being in Arrow erased.
Prometheus was such a good villain that following that up was always going to be hard, however I don’t mind James really. Think he is kind of ominous. Think we’ll understand the real threat once the story unravels further and reveals what his plan is.

As for Darhk that “Return of the Mack” scene repaired any damage he had done to me in Arrow. It was amazing.

Agree with everything in this piece. I would have cancelled it 2-3 seasons ago. Has been painfully awful for far too long. RIP.
