Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

Apart from having about 3-4 clear-cut opportunities to simply kill Diaz, having not achieved that, this show isn't absurd at all. They're trying so hard to make Diaz a bad guy but in comparison with your Merlyns, Ra's and even Darhks, he's just fecking garbage and so is this show.

I think I'll pass after this shit season is over just like I did with Walking Shite.
You think he’s garbage? Actually think he is up there with Prometheus and Deathstroke. Think he has been great.

Really? He's literally got no redeeming qualities as a villain, no backstory, no powers, no real motive.
Did you miss the episode Dragon? Most of it is explained there and it’s Arrow, they don’t really need powers. I think he’s been great, that hand fight with Oliver also to me said a lot about him as well. He was away to lose but he does whatever it takes to win and doesn’t care how it looks. He’s relentless. Not to mention he has performed one of the most savage kills in all of Arrow over pretty much nothing in that episode Dragon as well.

I dont have Diaz as high as Prometheus and Deathstroke. I think hes below them and I think thats because the story never allowed him to get that high. I think there were a lot of filler episodes that could have been used to make the villain look better than he is. He really should have been taken out a few times but given the nature of the show, I guess, that can be excused.

I do wonder where Lance and NotLaurel were this episode. There was a mention of Quentin but given the ending last week, was weird regarding Laurel (unless I missed something obvious)

BTW, the best part right now involves Anatoly, which means hes surely dying in the finale. And we need more Lyla and Dig shooting their way through things together.

I wonder if the next season will see a loose adaptation of the Green Arrow movie that was shelved some years ago http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/green-arrow/37357/green-arrow-escape-from-super-max-what-happened

Enjoyed that finale and it leaves it set up nicely for next season. I'm looking forward to a new season of Arrow for the first time in years

YOu werent looking forward to this season after the finale last season?
Though I enjoyed the finale, and the latest few episodes were strong. Its been a mixed season. I think the 23 eps didnt help cos it seemed a lot of the beginning stuff was filler and a tighter show could have been produced with 15 eps (as an example)

Oliver in Prison will be interesting. Not everybody there would have been there by him. I kinda expect there will be people there who are going through redemption and could form part of 'Team Arrow' in prison. I just hope this isnt resolved by the end of ep 1 in the next season and hes out of prison lol. I honestly think Arrow next season should have 2 arcs (one in prison). And possibly one where hes released by the FBI cos hes needed as help.
I know its aired but still gonn spoiler this ...
I think Quentin going is the right move.
They should honestly think about bringing back Ragman

To be honest I was dreading their explanation of basically everyone surviving the island exploding, even though the build and the finale itself was great.

Also you've not quite spoilered that there mate :D

Edited lol. Though if you havent watched the ep and are reading my comment.. bleh lol

Was a bit of a meh episode. Intresting things happened.
quite like that they ended a season where Diaz got away, think he’s been a great villain and will be intresting to carry the story over next year. Hopefully like Sylar said it’s not a 1 and done episode with his prison and it’s like a break glass in case of emergency. City is so far gone they need him. Heck even if he was in there till the crossover that would be intresting.

If you review this season of arrow it's really weird

It comes off the back of an excellent end to s5 and blows that
It has cameos from deathstroke (who can no longer be used...again), Tommy, nyssa, human target, Sara, Roy, introduces a Michael Emerson villain who isn't even the big bad, it's somebody underneath him who is pulling the strings, who has a whole ep dedicated to his motives

If i was told this was what the season would involve id be stoked. But on review it was so strange and uneven

With regards to the finale whilst I mostly liked it, the wtf moments must include

Diaz trying to shoot laurel in the head but shooting Quentin in the stomach as he saves her
Sara being called after all the shit goes down, and it's by the fake sister, not anybody who knows her
Oliver having a goodbye tour but not including his son or his wife
Fbi basically only doing the deal if Oliver gave himself up. So if he brought this to fbi but said nah, would fbi just allow Diaz to continue to run star city?

Lol
Weird season

Weird season. Wasn't that bad and I loved the deathstroke eps but the problem is the motives are pretty much always the same. Control of the city.
I actually liked Diaz but even though they fleshed him out there still wasn't enough. Typical arrow to kill off the one character everyone probably wants to keep.

Yeah, thats true. This is why I loved prometheus. It was very personal and it seemed like the story was well done.
Id actually like to see Arrow develop a two story arc throughout the season if they are gonna have around 22 eps (similar to AoS).

 My immediate thought was "if that's fecking Felicity..."
I’m pretty positive I know who it is as they haven’t really kept it that under wraps if I’m right.
I’ll put my theory in a spoiler, anyone opens it they have been warned.
Roy Harper. The actor that plays him has been at Comic con with the cast and I’m sure he’s supposed to be a season regular next year so surely it has to be him.

If it was Felicity tho

However going off that trailer, looks pretty decent, all the old foes back, Cody Rhodes, Vinny Jones, that other dude who does like JCVD style action movies, can’t remeber his name.

Michael Jai White

I think he'll be defeated quite quickly into this season. No way, they'll have 20 odd episodes with this horrendous villain.
I’ll go 10 but seems like I’m one of the only people that actually think he was a good villain. Actually really enjoyed him and thought he was really sinister. His stand alone episode was it The Dragon. Thought that was great.

I liked him too, and thought that episode was great.

EDIt: In hindsight I suppose he was written as quite a generic villain but the actor did a good job with what he was given.

Yeah, no super powers, no hoodoo, no gimmicks just a guy being an evil bastard. Was a welcome change for me and as you said the actor did a good job. He’s in Fringe where he’s quite good and in Kingdom where again he plays some sort of similar character but just seems menacing. Maybe people just didn’t get over the fact that early on he was seen as generic thug number 1.

Yeah I can see that. As an aside I've been meaning to watch Kingdom for a while now, I take it you'd recommend? I really like Frank Grillo so I don't know why I haven't watched it yet to be honest.

Yeah it’s really good. It’s so dark and the characters are amazing but there is one character Jay Kulina, who is played by Johnathan Tucker and he’s incredible. Grillo is also very good but the show is stolen by Tucker.

Grillo would make a good villain for Arrowverse somewhere might be too big to get on one of the shows.

Arrow trailers always do a good job. Hoping this season is much better than the last.

Hopefully Diaz is taken out pretty quickly. And I hope most of the focus on the show is on Oliver in prison.

Wow, I'm so happy there is someone else who is enjoying the Kingdom tv show. Jay Kulina is crazy but so funny at the same time

So supposedly Ruby Rose has been cast to play a character in the CW DC Universe.
Bat Woman for the 4 ep crossover
