Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

Why would you come into a thread about a show which has discussion when youre not uptodate? hmmm

Anyway, another strong episode. The flashbacks have become so much more interesting this year especially with the addition of Dolph. He seems to tower over Oliver and has this charisma about him we havent seen since Slade from a flashback villain. And a nice link to last year as well.

But I liked the main story we saw with Vigilante. Nice shift from what a vigilante means especially with collateral damage not being an issue. Ive changed my mind a few times on my theories on this:

I initially thought what if Prometheus was Tommy given Flashpoint might have changed things.
Then I thought the obvious was gonna happen, Felicity new BF being it.
But now im thinking Prometheus and Vigilante might be the same person, ie Chase. His "ive been to hell" line makes me think theres a good and bad side to him which we might see within the flashbacks and that will be the ultimate link.

Also speaking of Vigilante, loved his predator like stalking.

As cool a reveal as that would be I do hope it isn't true.

I'm just really annoyed that Artemis and Prometheus seem to have had nothing to do with each other in Greek mythology (that I could see in my two minutes of reading Wikipedia).

Im glad Artemis is being shown to be like this (although we dont know the end game, but it does look more damning than the normal, ahh you expect a twist).
The lack of background on her may play into this especially how much shes mentioned Arrow just letting her parents die.

Didn't enjoy this episode as much as I did The Flash one but it was still good. I loved the reference to Colin Donnell being on Chicago Med now.

Aliens = Jews confirmed because they speak Hebrew.

I've got this strange feeling that this crossover thing is just too much, seems shit overall to me and the whole aliens invasion seems forced as feck. Plus Felicity and now this fecking new clown Curtis is too much of cringe shit for me, forced jokes all everywhere, 'so funny lol haha' type of stuff, Artemis is stupid and ugly af as well, hope they kill her soon.

I enjoyed it. I think its a good start for a crossover. Its kinda safe in using non sophisticated villain to take down which forces them to team up (and use an alien from another universe).

I liked seeing some of the older characters too.

Didnt like the forced "I hate metas... until they save me". stuff. Also Flash/Supergirl got too little time, but then again it was Arrow episode 100 so I get why there was less focus on them and more on the rest. Assuming every character will get a big part in LoT though.

I do think these crossover eps would have worked better with a binge watch though, but im enjoying it regardless (despite some of the things like aliens just leaving a random gun around for Oliver to pick up and shoot them all with )

Man what the feck. This episode was so weird. Tiring drama all over: drama from Felicity, gay drama and typical 'it's all my fault' shit. And the ending. Could it be that this Russian vodka (the close-up on the drinks couldn't have been accidental) was poisoned or something and he's simply hallucinating?

That was my immediate reaction too

I disagree. That was completely focuessed on Ollie. I was afraid they would turn it back into a Felicity whinefest, but this was about Ollie's past coming back to bite him and all his friends in the ass. Prometheus feels like a stronger villain again, almost on par with Merlyn or Deathstroke. I feel this season turned around immensely.

That was feckin great, im surprised people didnt like that. It was like Flashpoint brought the writing of season2 to this current season.

All characters have purpose, but it all lead back to them being close to Oliver which has caused them problems. The lead up to Oli killing Billy was great. Prometheus looks like a proper threat, and one thats coming back from Olivers past to harm him, his friends, family and city.

I do hope Curtis becomes a better character out of this though>

Also interesting to see what happens with Laurel. Wonder if Flashpoint has anything to do with her being there? The Lance sisters will not remain dead :P

Felicity, Shes such a hero, and the greatest. What a punch, etc/

At least they had a good reason for 'Laurel' being there. And she looked good too especially as the Black Siren.
Also like Chase getting involved with Diggle.
And Mr Terrific basically going towards gadgets now as his way of being badass (rather than trying to be a ass kicking machine, which doesnt fit).

Seriously though, is there anything she cant do? Shes just lost her BF and despite that, she manages to overrule Oliver with the recruits, manages to the only one to discover Black Siren, the only one who can come up with a plan to track her to find Prometheus, and the only one to really stop BS with that one punch KO. Just surprised it wasnt her that came up with the device to drain BS power too.
Also surprised when Oliver mentioned a new Black Canary, Felicity didnt step up and say its all her :)

I was worried of that for a minute before they showed that new hottie.

I thought for a second they were going to have it cut to present day Talia as the new Black Canary prospect. I actually muttered 'feck off'.

I actually thought thats what happened when they showed the back of her at the bar. Glad its somebody new.

Saying that, Talia in the flashbacks is great. Hopefully she can be as good as the other daughter :D

Looks like I made a good decision stopping watching this it midway through last season.

The only two things keeping me watching this shite are Vigilante and Ragman to be fair. It's been a shite drama fest again, words cannot describe how fecking annoying this blonde whore is, then we've got Mr Terripussy and his gaydrama (nobody fecking cares) and 'holy feck I've got no powers drama', now the bring back Laurel and we'll see her every now and then because they have to honour her contract or something. Today's episode was fecking stupid.

IMo, theyre not using Ragman enough given how badass he is.

It is terrible but it made me laugh so much
Laurel is nice on the eye and .... that's it.

"We need a new Black Canary"

Do you though? I mean, the last one wasn't exactly great, and you've got Ragman stood around twiddling his thumbs all "so I'm also here, and I'm bulletproof," and then there's HockeyFace, Mr Terrific, Diggle, and probably The Vigilante all on Team Arrow. Too many cooks and all that.

Yeah it was silly, they came to a realisation that they must get a new canary in one episode and hey, let the elections begin. Terrific was supposed to stop running around in his shit suit yet he's done it again, I mean, the writing's really, really poor again.

Catching up, I actually liked the last episode. I like the whole second chance thing, and having Oliver pretty much look after a team of four is good.

Felicity doing stuff away from the team, Oliver, etc is good too. Much prefer that than her basically being in charge of Felicity and friends. But yeah, they really need to use Ragman more. The dude can be badass but for some reason they dont use him.

With Prometheus theyve painted themselves into a corner havent they? Prometheus imo has to be somebody Oliver knows and they dont have many options they can have. A reborn Tommy (because of time travel from other shows) is the only one I can think off (if they get him back for one episode). Otherwise, who else would make sense?

Also ffs, they finally use ragman and ... hes going away? Damnit. Hope its just a one or two episode thing, but guess not.
Also glad they are using Felicity in a mostly non crying romantic story.

I do much prefer the flashbacks now compared to the last two seasons (probably best since Slade Wilson days). Mostly due to Bratva / Kovar / Talia. Speaking of Talia, I hope they have some sort of modern day meet between Talia and Nyssa.

How awkward it is when this new Canary is actually much better at everything than Laurel

Agreed with Prometheus - but stopped caring to be honest. Just hope it's not something stupid like it was his dad or something.

In terms of ragman, I liked him a lot, but I always felt he was out of place in the Arrow team - purely because he had powers that were stronger that Oliver's - so they really didn't make use of him at all.

Yeah, Ragman was the most overpowered of the team considering Oliver was meant to be the best out of the lot. He was cool as hell though, i'll miss him.

He was really cool, but it seemed like they had to find ways not to use him or sideline him which was a shame. They could have basically said he can only use it once or something within 24 hours and it needs some sort of charge.

There was talk of a CW DC type program with supernatural characters. That would be cool with Ragman and Constantine. Doubt it though. Hope its not the last we see of him.

I cant really remember, but hasn't the whole, how he became the Green Arrow/hood been done? i cant really see how the writers have gone 5 seasons in without revealing..

The whole flashback thing is so tiresome, it just shows weak writing. i dont think i have ever sighed so much or fazed out through a show.
I like Talia, her killing Felicity is what i am hoping for....
Ragamn is so underused, he just seem too strong, the writers dont know what to do with him as it would make the rest redundant, so yeah, what do they do? barley use him, then write him out.... he will probably return near the end, saving them all, WWF style

Well, that was quite political. At least they werent too preachy one way or another towards it. And let Oliver show that he actually does stuff as the Mayor

I do like the use of flashbacks to flesh out other characters, and think think they should use it to show rene in the military / army. But it kinda seemed a bit weird how it ended in the last ep with him trying to fight for his daughter on the phone, then seeing news and deciding to be a vigilante. Seemed... kinda rushed? Was weird.
