Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

A lot of the dialogue in this episode seemed very stilted. Like children in a classroom taking it in turns to give the pros and cons of an argument.

Probably the most pointless episode they've made yet. This pushing in of different political agendas in The Arrow is unbearable at times.

Why is everybody surprised Rene got a gun despite being dishonourably discharged when as a Wild dog he literally runs with two automatic pistols

Also this fecking gun talk, a black guy tells a guy of a hispanic origin that he's 3 times more likely to get shot, like what the feck.

Oh, and Diggle wants to put his diggle in that Black Canary ass if you know what I mean.

I really really hope they dont do that in the programme given the way his character has been portrayed so far.
Would be a nice change that they have a guy and girl character as just friends rather than trying to ... diggle his way through her.

I doubt he will, he seems pretty devoted to Lyla and if he does stray like that it adds something negative to a character who doesn't seem the sort.

This season needs to end with Oliver being outed as Green Arrow given the way things are going.
If Pike cant tell from speaking to Oliver in Mayor and GA identity so close together (given the same verbiage between the two), he should be able to tell cos Oliver doesnt even cover that distinctive facial hair he has going on, which should make it bloody obvious, esp to a damn Captain.

Thea doing some darkside shit on the journalist was cold but quite good to see to.
Mr Terrific getting kicked by two girls just made me laugh though.

The lack of prometheus is kinda silly. I think given theres about 20 episodes, they need to do 2 or 3 arcs in the show (much like Shield). Or just have less filler stuff to try and hold of the conflict of finding the main villain. Or have the villain use built up cronies who dont die after a quick time (with no build up). Dunno.

The stuff with Pike was almost hilarious. "The Green Arrow, who I am very close to told me..." it reminded me of a parent saying "I know Santa Claus personally, you know, and he told me that if you're not a good little boy you're getting nothing for Christmas."

Okay, now this is pretty fecked up. I'm not sure I follow anymore. Chase definitely wanted Black Canary to take that visor part so they could track Vigilante (who should be, uhm, him?) but at the same time he was wearing Prometheus gear and fought against Vigilante?

Either Chase as Vigilante is plotting some serious shit to bail Oliver out or he's indeed been Prometheus all the time and I was right couple of months ago.

Played by Josh Segarra, Chase is an integral part of Oliver Queen’s mayoral cabinet and even helped get Diggle released from prison just a few episodes ago. Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow are still oblivious to Chase’s true identity since the unmasking was for the sole benefit of the audience, a fact Executive Producer Wendy Mericle said they plan to exploit, telling TVLine: “We’re going to play around with that for a little while before we let Oliver and the team find out.”

While a few fan theories about Prometheus’s identity have been floating around all season, not many people expected him to be Chase because, in the comics, Adrian Chase is the alter ego of Vigilante. Obviously, the inclusion of Vigilante this season was a red herring and Mericle described why they went a different direction from previous Big Bad reveals:

“…because everybody would be thinking, ‘Of course he’s going to be Vigilante… We thought it would be a really fun twist to… take the comic-book mythology and turn it on its head and see what kind of story we can mine from a surprise like that. It was also something different for this season. We wanted to change up how we introduced the Big Bad and when we did it.”

The most interesting part of this reveal is that Chase is obviously not trying to kill Oliver since his position as a colleague and partner of the Mayor have given him ample opportunity to do just that. Mericle elaborated on Chase’s mental game:

“We really wanted to build him up as someone who is extremely good at being 10 steps ahead of Oliver, really being psychological in the way that he manipulates him… One of the ways he does that is by going after the people that Oliver cares about… He really has no drive to kill Oliver. It’s purely based on torture… to break Oliver down psychologically, as opposed to physically.”

Cheers, fair fecks that, makes sense I guess. Question remains how the story with Vigilante will pan out then.

Yeah I have absolutely no idea who Vigilante is now

The fella that plays Chase does have the face of a deranged psychopath so he's a pretty good choice for Prometheus, actual comic book history of the character aside.

Aye, I like him as an actor actually, he does have something decent about him, some breath of fresh air compared to your Mr Terrifics and other shite.

I really really enjoyed that episode. The reveal of Prometheus was done so well, especially the little red herrings they placed in the beginning (Vigilante appearing just as Chase goes off screen and vice versa). And the visor stuff.
Also the theory that Chase is both of them was thrown out given we saw them fighting  (except he threw Vigilante off the building. Unless Vigilante has teleportation powers cos that would be twice he did it that episode lol)

Vigilante can really only be a few people now? That cop who was at the trial, Paul (lol) or... Talia? hmmm. Unless its tht fathers kid who Oliver killed, haha.

I did like the scenes with Rene and Curtis. Oh and darkside Thea is good stuff too.

It has had its ups and downs... but really enjoying this season - this was not a twist I was expecting but I did enjoy it. I dare say that I've been enjoying this more than the Flash this season, something I'd never think I'd say again.

I honestly can't understand why they wouldn't just stick to the main Arrow vs Prometheus plot which seems to be panning out well thus far without all this Felicity and her moral dramas bullshit. Yeah, holy feck, she's hacking stuff with a group of people, that's illegal and shit.

I guess that hacking into gov intel and not only prior to working with the Helix was alright though and not illegal at all. It just doesn't make any fecking sense. I hope Felicity and this another hemorrhoid of a character that Curtis is just die.

I think Helix is going to be a main villain near the end (possibly for next season) and I honestly dont mind the plot going on. Its moving Felicity into a darker side, whilst obviously helping to progress the main storyline and will be interesting to see what they do with it. Especially as shes doing all this shit for them without really thinking twice for the sake of finding people. Its once the consequences are seen that it will become part of the main story.
Also Curtis has been fine since hes been taking his technology to the fights, they should have introduced that waaaay before they actually did.

But hot-damn, Adrian Chase was fantastic that episode. "Please don't threaten me. I'm in mourning." His reactions were great. He just plays the villain so well especially in plain-sight. Great stuff.

Do wonder what will happen with Vigilante though? Will that be revealed or even used again? Hmm

Minor spoiler about Vigilante reveal date according to showrunner.
Next season apparently, although I think it's a bluff

Adrian Chase is awesome.

Also just noticed Felicity's hacker mate is Abigail Hobbs off Hannibal.

That might actually be the best episode of Arrow since s2. The flashback element was used perfectly imo (rather than 10 seconds then switching back, we actually got proper progression and story out of it)

Arrow and Chase were both fantastic in their roles (well the actors were). Just brilliant stuff imo.

What on earth was that?

Oliver goes all emo so he calls in the Bratva to kill Chase and steal medicine... then changes his mind and tells them to go home... in which they expectedly say no and he claims that they aren't good friends and are greedy? Am I missing something here?

This season has been okay, a lot better than last season. Not the highest praise I've ever given

In Prometheus they finally have a villian with a bit of substance, it's a shame this series seems to have no idea where it's going.

That ending was great, looks like they're setting up Anatoly as the big bad for next season.

Finally caught up on the last episode (last week) and thought it was actually really good follow up to Kapiushion. We knew the team being disbanded wouldnt last long, but it was nice that it was Diggle that helped pull it altogether (and a nice call back to him being in jail and trying to give up, but Oliver making sure he didnt)

Also the show has done the flashbacks justice this season. The last 2 seasons have been utterly useless, this season theres been a lot of meat in them. And I like the parallel in going to the darkside, with Anatoly being good in the flashback, but being 'bad' in present, because he didnt have his friend (Oliver) to steer him to the right path (and parallel with Oliver who did)

The hackers group has been the best thing for Felicity and her character. Shes lost a lot of the annoyance she had last season and its nice when they have female characters not just being people after love.

And well Chase is just the best villain since Slade isnt he? darkh had charisma but from watching him on Legends, you can tell the difference that overall he wasnt a great arrow villain.

It made sense but not when explained like you did haha.
Oliver pretty much gives up and is going over the edge to make sure Chase dies and is rid off (but doing it in a matter that isnt right which Diggle can see). Diggle makes Oliver sees the error of his ways in calling the Bratva to out right murder somebody, (but not only that the deal had Bratva taking meds so they can make a street drug worse than heroin).
Oliver calls out Anatoly cos hes different from the guy he met (Anatoly in flashback helped get meds to kids who badly needed it (goodmove) vs trying to manafacture a drug for means of money (badmove)).
Of course Oliver didnt like that, but Anatoly brings up the great point, that Oliver left him / Russia and he didnt have a good conscience to stay the course and thus had to do what he thought was best for keeping Bratva together.

All basically ends justifying means stuff but importance of friends to steer you / keep you on right path. Thats how I saw it anyway.

So.... tweeted by Amell. Gonna put it in a spoiler tag as its kinda casting info, but most might have seen it anyway.

I wish I had watched it from the beginning. Finally got around watching a couple of weeks ago via first The Flash then The Legends.

Watch seaosn 1 and 2. 1 starts slowly but gets better and season 2 is my favourite single season of any of the superhero based shows I think.

So I guess that not taking off the hacker's head bag was not coincidental ?

Also, they're coming up with the sillies again. Guy who put his brother down trying to moralise his wife, I really hoped Oli would put one in Felicity's head too.

Am I missing something here?

I dunno, it seems bit weird that they wouldn't take the mask of him or let him say a word really, even with a close-up on his face when he was sitting in that cargo container. Then the whole Helix moves, they give Felicity the hearbeat sensor that shows that Chase is in the building and the PC blows up out of nowhere. It all seems a bit too coincidental for my liking, like Helix or their leader is working with Chase or something. On the other hand they 'helped' Arrow to nail him. If that's the case and there's nothing more to it then it's poor script imo.
