Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

I like how dark the season is getting all of a sudden, with Ollie in the league and all that. With Roy leaving (but pretty much confirmed to come back at least once more this season), I'm getting curious who will die/leave. It's getting too crowded with too many masks and sidekicks running around.

They've referenced and shown Coast City on The Flash, so there's a possibility that it's going to get even more crowded if they start bringing in Hal and his buddies.

Knowing the CW, they will get a Green Lantern spinoff too, but without the space stuff because budget, and will do 3way teamups 4times a season.

I wouldn't mind not having too much space stuff, but I'm sure they could build one big space set per season right, or a big finale etc.

Very good episode, at last Al Sah-him feels like ol' good Arrow. I like how they introduced Speedy there as well, which was predictable, wouldn't be surprised if she'll be a part of that Arsenal spin-off or whatever. Curious how it all goes from now on.

Very decent episode and I like almost everything they are doing... At least compared to the drivel in previous seasons. But...

That Canary Cry  Why must Laurel be so pathetic with everything she does? During the crossover with Cisco her "sonic device" got an upgrade to be 3 times more powerful, absolutely no mention of needing to open your mouth and pretend you're screaming. But Laurel does that anyway, and the Canary Cry does absolutely nothing but let Oliver know they are there. Brilliant, top work Cisco. Or more likely Laurel doesn't know how to turn it on or something

Great episode. This season has been quite sub-par for the most part, but the past 3 episodes have really delivered, I'm looking forward to the finale. Still though, the flashbacks season have been bloody horrible, nothing close to the Slade Wilson stuff from last season.

Oliver cutting the arrow head from the arrow Thea shot threw his wrist was badass. So was him taking down Nyssa with minimal effort. I actually would love it if he was just Ra's Al Ghul for a whole season, but of course that will never happen.

Yeah, majorly rolled my eyes at that. Also, how did she last so long in a fight against members of the league?

Hate Laurel. Hate Felicity.

Love Al Sah-him. He's just a better character when he's grim as feck.

I don't hate Felicity, but she has been kinda annoying this season. Don't think she'll ever dip into Laurel levels of annoyance though.

I thought I was the only one who was going to complain, about how I have never seen such a cheesy and shit character , get so much screen time, all this goody too shoes crap has been over done since season 1, in this episode she transcended to a whole new level of cringiness

But apart from that I`m loving the new Oliver, liked him in beginning when he had no problem killing people, as this whole, villains killing many people, and you just put them in prison so they can break out again and kill people again, just so you feel morally superior , was kinda getting annoying lately

This new Oliver is really bad ass, cant wait to see what will happen in final 2 episodes, though im sure he`ll revert back to normal as killing all of Starling City is pretty dumb tbh

Aside all that and how Laurel struggled with that street thug but held her own whilst fighting two assassins (both who really should be dropped cos of that lol), fantastic episode. At last the flashbacks were quick and done and tied into the main story at last with the Alpha/Omega.

Part of me still thinks this is some sort of convulted plan from Ollie and Maseo given whats happened in the flashbacks with the weapon and a way to bring down Raas whos trying to do the same. Or im over thinking it.

Either way, aside from the fact it seems Ollie was "broken" within three weeks (hence my thinking above), it was fun to watch that episode (along with the last few). Leading to a great finale imo.

Actually, it's the timeline of the storytelling, not the plot, that I don't like. Even if it was 3 weeks to the character, I would have liked at least one episode about the brainwashing. Unless it's some type of ploy from Oliver, then I guess it makes sense not to show too much from that time until the reveal.

Well, Amell is going to be Casey Jones in the TMNT sequel :D

Yea, the finalee episodes are pretty cool, finally you got to say.

I surely can't be the only person to hope that Laurel doesn't wake up from whatever was served to them in that chamber.

Damn, these last 4 episodes have been great, really wish most of the season preceding it wasn't so shit. Was quite funny to see Palmer locked up with the rest of the team, it just seemed odd for him to die without really understanding the stakes or being emotionally invested; he literally had no idea what was going on until halfway through the episode too lol.

Wish Roy hadn't left Thea though, I just want those guys to have a happy ending away from all of Oliver and everyone's drama.

That was fecking great. Poor old Ray he doesn't know what the feck is going on  I'd be more than happy for them alll to die, have two episodes of Oliver gallivanting as Ra's and just end the show.

Won't happen though.

Good episode but still a few cons towards the show:
-Felicity, what a waste of once a fun character. Seriously, all she does is cry and whine now.
And did Ray really sign his company over to her? What?

Its a shame Oliver revealed to them he had a plan, kinda killed the drama for the end. Also the League oF assassins are terrible  Three of them losing to Laurel at the same time (who still opens her mouth on the canary cry) lol

However loved the Maseo vs Tatsu fight. Amazing stuff between the two.

Agreed. Can't stand Felicity at all - every scene she is in, she ruins. Her best parts of the season was when she was with Ray - but now they've stopped that.

It was a good episode, but Oliver's reveal ruined it for me. We all knew he was going to turn good, but i hated how obvious they made it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but did he say "You have to trust me on this" to his friends right in front of Ra's and the League?

Maybe he knows Ras has hearing pbs.

This show has fallen off so bad this season, the flashbacks have been largely crap, I mean really all they portrayed is that a virus exist and it turns out virus' are bad. Trying to get dramatic tension out of the boy maybe dying, considering we knew he died like 15 episodes ago, is just bleh.

I've largely hated Thea's role, but honestly she's the only character that has a memory longer than a fish at this point or talks any kind of sense.

Why anyone is shocked that Malcolm does a face-heel turn is beyond me, I feel like all he needs to do is walk around with one of them huge clock necklaces, of 80's rapper fame, just to note the 15minutes intervals on which he turns.

The League of Assassins should just retire, they are shit, I don't mind Laurel holding her own vs 1 league member but 3, even though she lost that skirmish pretty hard at the end ... please.

This ENTIRE season, boils down to this;
Malcolm was in trouble with the league for leaving/trying to blow up Starling City they can't decide. Malcolm gets Thea to kill Sarah, the league are double mad. Oliver has to fight Ra's, Loses, get resurrected but not really, cause that would be too far fetched. Gets framed, gets unframed, Thea dies. Agrees to become next Ra's so his sister can be resurrected cause that's fine now, does heel turn. Everyone knows it's a fake heel turn but ignores it because plot, gets married to lesbian, has to blow up Starling City.

Why the league are even mad at Malcolm was and is a joke, it's what they are all about, proven by the fact that to become the next Ra's, Oliver has to do the thing Malcolm wanted to do in the first place. I mean what is he even worried about he can beat like 50 league guys on his own, it's not like now that the league let him off the hook it even matters, he still known world wide as a mass murderer he's not gonna be able to just start a normal life in Coast City with a bit of stubble as a disguise.

Agreed, Ray and Felicity were good together. Oliver and Felicity seemed so forced it would be like Flash forcing Caitlin and Barry together. bleh. Oliver will probably end up with Laurel in a future season. For me, killing Sara was the mistake as she was the best female one the show and they really could have got to the same point without doing that.

As for the last question, I think he said it in the tunnel part where there were no other LoA members, so he didnt say it in front of Ra's, just outside the door. I think.

The flashbacks could have taken a couple of episodes. They were much more interesting in Season 1 and 2.

At this point, I hope they kill off Felicity any time soon. Can't stand her. They won't though.

She was great as the techie assistant with a crush on the hero, they tried to expand her role with out actually adding any more depth and forcing them apart cause they wanted to reset the relationship/ create drama, which is the problem.

Always have a dilemma when it comes to season finales especially ones with good cliffhangers. Should I just watch it and then wait 6-7 months to see a new episode. Or just leave it as it is and wait for the new season to start so I can continue to binge watch it. But then with social media nowadays, by the next day some fecker somewhere will spoil it for you.

Also I honestly didnt get the point where Maseo tells that his child died even before it happened in the flashbacks. That was one thing actually driving these flashbacks and they spoiled it half way through.

Lacked a bit of punch for a finale but I guess the Ra's fight was decent, plus setting up for next seasons Damien Darhk. Speedy was great too.

Also, wtf is Merlyn doing as Ra's, that will not end well. Oh and Coast City. Wonder what's going to happen there.

That felt more like a series end than a season end tbh.

I'm guessing they'll probably bring him back as green arrow next season, since the arrow is no more and all that.

Things I liked from the finale:
- Oliver vs Ra's on the bridge was great (better than DD vs Kingpin in their finale)
- The Flash!
- Palmer finally (or at least getting close to) shrinking the suit
- Thea as Red Arrow/Speedy

But overall it wasn't brilliant, I'm glad this season is over. As much as I've actually liked the run of 5 episodes to finish this season off, overall it's been terrible, and I'm hoping a fresh start and new locale for flashbacks (the Hong Kong flashbacks were atrocious) will bring something similar to the greatness of Slade and season 2.

Not that impressed by the action in the finale, but I do like the set up. The fight was great, and as I said, the setup for next season is pretty cool.
Some thoughts for the next season.
- Palmer might have some powers of sorts after that little accident.
- Thea will be Speedy, that much is obvious. Where does that leave Roy (if he's ever coming back)
- Oliver will be forced to return. Surprise surprise.
- Laurel & Lance still have a long way to go in fixing their drama, with at least one of them descending back into substance abuse once again.
- Diggle will die, probably by that Damien Dark fellow. I love his character, but he's falling out of the boat more and more.
- The three/fourway clash between Merlyn, Nyssa, Team Arrow and Damien will mean some interesting kinda team ups and betrayals.
- I'm predicting at least one 3way crossover between Arrow, The Flash and the new show.

Nicely set up for the new season obviously, only thing I didn't really understand was the talk between Diggle and Oli near the elevator, Olie asking Diggle to 'conceal his identity' but fecking hell, whose? Diggle's? Could the Martian Manhunter talk be real or did I misunderstand something there?
