Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

Just saw this. Brilliant episode.

is Roy part of the spin off show? Really liked him in this episode and its a shame to see him leaving. I hope they don't add in Ray jealousy towards Ollver this season.... The last part between Ray and Cisco was odd... There should be an explanation later?

Roy will be part of the spin off show. Thought the episode was decent. I think it would be good if the season ENDED with Oliver leading the league.

Best episode in a while. When they use a quote early-mid episode and then use the same fecking quote in a flashback toward the end of the episode, in this case "you need to learn to let people help you" is really irritating me now, it smacks me in the face every time.

The flashbacks are just there for the sake of it now. Its not interesting at all and doesnt really provide much.

Hope we see more of Arsenal even if its in the spinoff show. Roy was a likeable character and it was his strongest episode yet. Thought it kinda gave me the impression hes been underused up until this point.

I did like the nice twist they had with making us think Arsenal died but then it ends with Thea being stabbed. Like most people, I expect the same thing with Ollie and LoA now. Strong episode and it was nice to see Atom with a second teamup this week.

With Waller telling him to leave Hong Kong, I think they are setting him up for going to Russia and join the Bratva.

That would be another season of pointless flashbacks then. Really it's about time they make some sort of connection with the present time. They are milking the flashbacks and it's gotten sour.

Yes and no. His connection to the Russian mob and Anatoly he had in seasons 1 and 2 would at least have some connection to Russia. While it would be a bit of a filler, at least it would have some sort of references to the earlier seasons. The Hong Kong story line seems to have a sole purpose of building Oliver's and Maseo's backstory, which seems completely pointless at the moment. I also hate the fact that they make Hong Kong 5 years ago look like some sort of fishing village from the 80's.

I think the flashbacks need to be more interesting / more needs to happen like season 1 and 2. We know hes going to end up back on the island but seeing 3 episodes of him running in a flashback got tedious. Him seeing Shado was interesting (albeit sister). Think more needs to happen / more action / more something to interest us otherwise it just seems there to say something which links to the current episode where somebody else says the same thing in present time ...

Gets right on my tits, that.

OK, so … I've just started watching The Flash as I'm up to Season 3 Arrow and heard they cross over.

Had no idea of the significance of
that bloke Barry Allen that got twatted by some power surge in Arrow S2E9
to tell you the truth I'd forgotten all about it as it was never really mentioned again … not exactly a comic book fan boy am I?

haha, it was a nice introduction he got in Arrow (as well as Caitlin and Cisco). The crossovers have been nicely done imo

Agree, that's what made me sit up and listen as I was not aware of the Flash character's real name from the comics. Spent most of episode 1 with a weird sense of deja vu!
But, more on topic: I'm really looking forward to watching something a bit different, 2 shows into Arrow S3 and nearly every character is annoying me already.

This season could yet be salvaged, and the last episode was a good start. Seems like they're gonna go all out comic book-ish with the introduction of a Lazarus Pit resurrection right.

Also, why all the spoiler tags? Thought discussion was fair game once it's aired on TV.

After having carefully read your posts this time :wenger:, I feel safe asking this " what do you think of the Flash as a show ? Better than Arrow ? ".

At some point they had to properly and definitively include "powers" and "magic" in their show.

Im not a big fan of s3 of arrow but it had some really good episodes here and there. Just wasnt as consistent as the last two series or Flash imo. But I believe it has a chance to have a great ending.

Only on e2 so hard to say yet but I really like it so far! I think you can swallow a lot more of the "fantasy" when the main character is a superhero not a highly trained virtually indestructible human vigilante. As I say above though, I was never a comic book reader so a lot of this is new to me. If I were perhaps more precious about the original story lines then I might be more pro or anti one or the other. Having said all that I must say I probably like Gotham best at the mo - it'll ultimately be a vigilante show and there's been nothing even bordering on super powers as yet (it's more like a noir gangster series) but many of the characters are vaguely familiar and the "origins" unfolding are really elaborate and very cleverly interwoven (again probably helped as I have not a clue if they are staying true to the comic book history).

Felcity, ugh. Theyve ruined such a fun character into one that cries all the time.

Anyway, good episode. He looked good as the heir to the demon. Something finally happened in the flashback although it again seemed like a reason to bring it back to the current say stuff (parallel) - I will not be a shell, etc.

Maseo is good. Also really like Tatsu as a character.

I hated the episode. The whole Felicity thing pissed me off - seemed like a perfect fit with Ray, then they had to go ruin it. Half the bloody episode was about Felicity.

Her relationship with Olli seems so fecking forced by those facebook fecktards crying with their le epic meymeys that they should be together, feck off.

Episode itself was boring, too much talk, too little action.

I find large parts of every single Arrow episode painful to watch these days due to the 'Olicity' shite and the 'flashback quote=present day quote' bollocks. Still enjoy it though. He looks awesome as the heir to the demon.

Felicity always comes across better when she appears on The Flash imo. Still a bit irritating but the accidental innuendos and nerdiness are shown more.

"So THAT happened..."

I personally find Felicity hilarious with her silly remarks. The latest episode finally made Oliver have some sort of emotional reaction! I mean, it was interesting to see that he wasnt actually a robot hell bent on "saving this city" and reacting to shit that happens around him (Thea)

IMO, characters like Cisco and Felicity add something extra to the show, so does Ray btw with his eccentricity (Are you sure you guys arent related? - Ollie to nerdy couple)

Friggin hell though, that Ra's character really, really plays his role well, especially his conversation with Felicity when she went to confront him.

Good season so far, relative to the Flash, the Arrow is really turning dark now.

Although this has been Arrow's weakest season so far, it's still been damn good. Yeah it's had it's moments where it has been a little lame, but the story that has been building has been excellent. It's got real dark this season with Roy leaving, and Sarah dying and now Thea dying and being reborn. I loved this weeks episode because it gave us a break from Laurel who is hit and miss in more ways than one, and her dad who has gone completely off the rails since finding out his daughter is dead, again.

The Flash is building nicely too, although this weeks was a little piss poor. How many cheesy lines can they include? I'm sure they did it on purpose this week with all the cheesy comments. I can't believe they went there with "is it a bird, is it a plane?"

Gotham though, has been absolutely spot on so far. It's getting better and better each show. Dark as hell.

I'm really confused with those flashbacks or more likely not really following the plot line .They are more than annoying now along with Felicity and i have to say Oliver as well .His acting his very wooden. Does he have more than one facial expession.

Does anyone else feel Ray might turn into Oliver's nemesis in the not-so-distant future? I'm not quite sure what the ATOM's role is, since I haven't read the comics.

Atom will probably be part of the new spinoff show. Its a shame they ended him and Felicity as it was more entertaining and the innuendos they both came out with were great. I agree Felicity has been more fun on Flash this season than compared to Arrow this season. Laurel meanwhile had the best week of her TV character as she was likeable on Flash and only had one short scene here haha.

Also, not really mentioned but I really hope Thea has side affects from being reborn otherwise it makes Malcolms claims pretty silly that he would have rather seen her die. Hopefully she becomes darker because within one episode, she was dead, reborn, didnt know who Ollie was, then it all went back to normal it seemed. Hopefully thats not the case.

Thea needs to kill a few people or attempt to murder some of the 'good guys' to justify Captain Jack's claim.

It's just been about his time in Hong Kong and when he came back home briefly. He and Maseo worked for Argus for a bit against their will and they recovered the Chemical Weapon, the Army crossed Argus and planned to release it in Hong Kong so Ollie and Maseo and Tatsu are trying to stop them. It's all leading up to Maseo losing his son and splitting from Tatsu to join the League of Shadows. Just a bit of filler about his time away but they have been stretching it out too long. Hopefully it will end this season and next season they can carry on without any flashbacks. Although thinking about it, Ollie goes back to the island again after Hong Kong so scratch that, there will be more next season.

Thanks. Yeah i hope they do kill this of this season and put more concentration on the present storyline.

I don't mind the Oliver Felicity thing, but I do find it strange that her and Palmer ended just like that. I think Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards have good chemistry and I buy them as a couple, but I would have liked to see a longer build up post-Palmer and more room for the romance storyline to breathe before full-on "i love you" and a sex scene.

Still, I liked the episode overall. This season has mostly been shit, but the past couple of episodes have been good, hoping it stays that way until the end of the season.

Definitely. She seems to be exactly the same person, that would be a disappointment after Merlyn's fears.

I like how dark the season is getting all of a sudden, with Ollie in the league and all that. With Roy leaving (but pretty much confirmed to come back at least once more this season), I'm getting curious who will die/leave. It's getting too crowded with too many masks and sidekicks running around.
