Television Arrested Development

It almost definitely won't if you're expecting it to be as good as the first two seasons. I think most fans will just be really happy/giddy at getting to see these characters again and have some of the classic running gags back, although I hope they're wary of just doing a greatest hits.

Having all the episodes come out at once is interesting. Apparently they're all linked together very intricately like something never done on television before. I'm hopeful that will add some new freshness and innovation.

The bad news is in 7 hours you could watch the lot :(

Hopefully they don't screw it up. Although it will be hard for them to hit the heights of season 2.

First clip from the new season

I've watched the first season. It's pretty decent.

I've watched the first season. It's pretty decent.

You're wrong.

(Although season 2 is definitely better)
Time to watch the whole thing again.. got 25 days..

Been doing the same. Watched season 1 a couple of weeks ago, and Buster's just lost his hand. I'll have no problem. Then I'll watch the new episodes in about three days. Max.

Watching all the episodes again and just got to this part

Every time, it gets me every fecking time.

 Same. Had to rewatch them all. Partly cos of the new series, and partly cos I had loads of uni work to do.

Season 2 is undeniably the best season. It's just stepped up a massive gear. Season 1 is great, but season 2 really is such a noticeable peak.

Even the titles of episodes. As you'll know, I've just got to Meat the Veals. At first I just thought it was a play on meat (meet) and veal. But it dawned on me last night that Michael would like to 'Meat the Veals' (at least one of them anyway.

Some of the best moments of Season 2:

GOB's failed coffin trick which is hilarious.

The Charlie Brown tributes

Tobias blow-I mean, blueing himself.

Maebe calling her dad Mrs Fingerbottom, and him subsequently falling through the coffee table.

"Her?"

Yam. Ann. Bland

Buster losing his hand and the subsequent 'I'm a monster!' quotes

"Huh. Get... him... out of here." "Hm?" "GET THE feck OUT OF HERE! GET THE feck OUT OF MY ROOM!"

"I don't wanna part of your tight-ass country club ya freak bitch!"

What a programme.

It's comedy, so it's each to your own and all......but still, quite uncommon seeing someone not think the first is the best, though not quite as uncommon as people preferring the third(like I've never seen anyone say this-)

I say the first two comedy classics though, but the first shades it. Third just a big dropoff, but still so good.

Season 1 was decent but Season 2 was perhaps the best comedy I've seen.

Are there any changes to the cast?

Just saw the first episode of @arresteddev. Oh my good god it's good.

I think I and a few others have been overly critical of the third season. It lacks some of the subtleties of the first two, but has so much comedy too.

Obviously at the back end they do an entire episode referencing their decline in show and on TV.

Just watched the episode with Nellie. A few great lines.

"You mean away though, right? Cos otherwise it seems a little different... you forgot to say away again.

Nellie has blown them all away."

"I'm not interested in you, in that way."

"What way?"

"Pick one."

I only half laughed once during the trailer ("watch your back").

But trailers for comedy shows aren't meant to be that funny, right? They're saving the best bits for the show, right?!

A lot of AD's humour comes from the narration and set-ups. It won't be funny in a trailer like that because it's just not how it works. I did laugh at the Ostrich though.

Personally I found that alright, but as you said Sol, a lot is in the set ups and narration.

It's going to be weird watching them all different though. Maebe looks very different. GM does, Michael looks clearly older, and Lindsay isn't fit any more.

I just hope that they don't try and rehash old jokes (although part of that will be in their style of running jokes). It should stand on its own rather than be some reference to the first three. IMO anyway.

I am as excited by season 4 as I am wary. Please please please don't mess it up!

Still not able to "acquire" this. Get to work, internet!

It's alright. Not as funny as it was. I think it's always a lot better when the whole family are together so the episodes about individual people don't help it.

Only 3 episodes in though and it still has its moments.
