Television Arrested Development

Only watched the first two and was distinctly underwhelmed. Glad to hear it gets better.

I don't like how they have different actors playing the younger versions of George and Lucille now. Also, the whole pace and tone of the show seems very different. It's a lot slower and with more wordy explanations.

I think Kristen Wiig does a good job as young Lucille, but yeah, it was better when they played the younger versions themselves. Rogen looks/sounds nothing like Tambor.

I think the multi-camera setup has something to do with that. Admittedly I preferred their old mockumentary style. This seems a bit more rigid and structured. Nevertheless, it's been very good so far. They've even introduced a couple more running jokes
Never tipping the black delivery guys and the prayer/music bit
Onto ep 6 now.

In the middle of episode 6

The alcoholic drink that Gob and Michael find in the cupboard that was left by John Beard, some guy on the real 'To Catch a Predator' show actually brought a pack of that to the house one time  Can't believe I remember that!

EDIT: After some googling, it's actually the decoy girl who always asks them to bring 'Mike's Hard Lemonade'

I finally noticed one of the clever jokes in the show the first time around, this is a proud moment for myself.

I did spend roughly a whole day watching 'To catch a Predator' on youtube a few months ago so I remembered it almost immediately. I also can't tell if you're being sarcastic and trying to ruin the moment for me but I won't let you! This victory is mine!

I really tried to make it sound not sarcastic, but it was quite difficult.

Same there!

I'm genuinely not being sarcastic.

Oh feck this.
The first couple of episodes are hard to follow, but stick with it. Once the storylines start overlapping, the comedy just snowballs.

Very true. Big example of this:
E7, back end, Maebe's running away, and runs past GOB, that'll come up. Then in the limo when Michael's about to cross the road and it turns out it was GOB who just missed him.

I wonder if when we watch this all back it'll all make sense.

Episode six was brilliant. It's really picking up, though some characters episodes (Michael, Tobias) are definitely of a higher standard than others (George Sr, Lindsay)

The Method One bit was just classic AD, genius.

Ep 11 was superb

I would totally have gay sex with you but I just drank a lot of water.

Episode 5, my favourite line so far -

"So it's your daughter you're here to see?"

"Yes, Maeby..."

Finished all but the last episode now, it definitely picks up. GOB, Buster and Tobias are definitely the 3 best characters for me

Is it just me, or does Buster look just like Rafael Benitez minus the weird goatee?

Only just realised the "Show Stealer Pro" watermarks are a running gag and not a badly recorded rip.

Ep13

I wouldn't put all the anns in one basket

I was a little skeptical from watching the first few if the idea of isolating the characters per episode was going to work .... but the way the plots intermingle is some seriously fantastic shit. Kudos to the writers. The show still has it.

Only seen the first 5 episodes so far and wasn't a fan of how they were doing it but episode 5 is hilarious

"Is there a little girl here?..... Daddy needs to get his rocks off":lol:

Finished all 15, loved it. Thought they really got going on episode 5 and it really comes together. I honestly don't get a lot of the critics that are panning it, feck off wankers. Even if this was the weakest season of the four, it was still better than most comedy shit on tv these days. I bet those bastards LOVE the Big Bang Theory and such. I hate people.

EP 15

In the very last scene, George Michael actually hits him in the face I think:lol:

General spoiler

Tony Wonder and GOB storyline was excellent, I think GOB's episodes may have been my favourite.

I'm up to Lucille's episode now it has been hilarious so far. The standard has picked up the style is different from the first 3 season's but they way they all come in and out of each others story and it makes more and more sense as we go along and how it shows us missing them in the other's stories like
when they called out for Tobias ANUSTART aka A NU START in jail and Lindsay was there with her boyfriends but in Tobias' story you see it is him
or
when Michael didn't know Lindsay was the red head he was checking out when he was coming back to his mums house but in her story we saw it was her

Quality new character's they have introduced. I agree about the first 5 episodes things are slow because it is hard to keep up with what is going on in their lives. After that it has been quality all the way, Gob and Tobias having the stand out episodes for me of course i'm expecting Buster to match them. The clever lines and word play is still there the stories overlapping is genius

'My bees are dropping like flies when they should be flying like bees'

Bob Loblaw law bomb

Tobias' Episode

"Is there a little girl here all alone? Daddy needs to get his rocks off."

That whole "To Catch A Local Predator" scene is brilliant.

I want to rewatch from season 1....any sites out there offering that particular privelege? So that I can report them, of course...

Just watching the Gob episode

When he breaks into Ann's room and gets scared by the Jesus poster and turns to Ann and says "Thought that was a real guy for a second" Cracked up then

Stay away Getaway, get away Getaway.

Stuck in my head.
