Aquilani to Liverpool

I've just had a look at his injury record, and it is quite shocking. He's barely played over the past few years, certainly not consistantly. Paying that price for him was a ridiculous move by Liverpool.

Despite the scousers non stop nattering about Owen's injury record, over the last three seasons (including 06/07 when Owen played three games) Michael Owen has played more than Aquiliani.

He'll score some nice goals, be injured a lot, fail to control midfield the way Alonso did, his girl friend will get homesick, and he'll be sold back to Italy next year for half the price.

A lesser version of De Rossi?

De Rossi's like Roy Keane and Aquilani's like Paul Scholes, to put it in really simplistic terms.

What similarities do you see in the two?

There is the fact that he was in direct competition with De Rossi at Roma for much of his career.

Alberto Aquilani is like having a 'Z' in Scrabble. You wait forever for your chance to cash in, by which point everyone else is miles ahead.

From today's Telegraph.

Do scrabble seasons, like premiership and CL, finish in October too? F*ck another 10 months before the new Scrabble season! :-(

I wonder how long it is since Dumpstar last posted in a thread without missing the point entirely and making a tit out of himself?

Part of me thinks he's a United fan on an elaborate WUM, like the bloke who did that 18-5 blog. Surely nobody is that dim in real life?

Here boy, heel.

He'll probably score a load of goals when Benitez finally plays him. And then Benitez will say he was absolutely right to "ease him in".

Hmm, that post in the meltdown thread is odd. He should surely have started a game by now, it's not as if Lucas has played so great that's he's undroppable.

The agent of Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has not ruled out a return to Italy with Fiorentina this summer.

Aquilani has been a disappointment at Anfield since his £20million move from Roma last summer as a supposed replacement for Xabi Alonso, with his time in England disrupted by several injuries.

Speculation has suggested that debt-ridden Liverpool may look to raise transfer funds by offloading the Italy international, while manager Rafa Benitez's uncertain future has also cast the player's prospects into doubt.

Fiorentina have been credited with an interest in Aquilani and his agent, Franco Zavaglia, knows that the Serie A club's sporting director, Pantaleo Corvino, is an admirer.

"The interest of Fiorentina is not new," Zavaglia told firenzeviola.it. "There are rumours about Aquilani and Fiorentina for three years.

"I don't think there is anything concrete at the moment, but one thing is for certain, Alberto is a craze of Corvino.

"It is still too early to tell if a deal is possible. First of all the priority is to finish the season well. Then we will know what will be the future at Liverpool

You've got to be kidding me.
