The situation basically is that you have a player who is now fit. He will cost you nothing but wages to keep, and he's obviously got talent. Why not just give him a go? What Hodgson does is let him go back to Italy, and agrees a deal to let him go at the end of the season permanently, at a loss for Liverpool. It's insane.
