Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Seen that advertised on Amazon, might give it a watch as well. If you like that sci-fi stuff I'm watching The 100 at the moment, really good concept - the last few hundred members of mankind are living in a giant space station orbiting Earth after it was decimated by Nuclear war, running out of supplies so they send 100 prisoners back down to see if it's habitable. All crime after age 18 is punishable by death on the space station so the prisoners are all teenagers, kind of descends into anarchy/Lord of the Flies with some interesting surprises to be found on Earth after 100 years of radiation. If that's not enough to convince you then one of the characters looks like this...

I really like 100 as well, waiting for the new season.I prefer the protagonist, the blonde girl :D.I also watched Revolution and Defiance but were awful.Falling Skies was nice until the second/third season.I liked Defying Gravity but was cancelled after a season. Now I watch as well Under the dome,is decent but I didn't like the beginning of third season

Anyone ever get into Mad Men. Tried watching the first few episodes of season 1 and it was tedious as hell...

This thread loves it. I'm okay with it. Enjoyed the first few seasons, never addicted to it. Always had to give it a break and come back to it. I did get round to finishing the show off completely which I thought was decent. Not incredible.

OK I'll go back and take a peek at what everybody is saying. Thanks.

Agent Carter seems to be much better than Agents of SHIELD. For one, I like the characters much better than arses in modern times. Also, nice time period.

My favourite show I think, it goes from strength to strength but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Check out the Mad Men thread, you'll see it has a lot of fans on here.

Oh I'm preaching to the choir then! Yeh agreed about Falling Skies, that had a lot of potential. Terra Nova could have done with a second season I think, they just made a few daft decisions with the storylines but was fun none the less.

I had the same problem. Really wanted to like it, because of all the love, but really couldn't give a **** about any of the characters and therefore anything that was happening. Gave it three episodes and never went back.

Anyone watched The Leftovers, by the Lost guys? I think it's probably one of my favourite seasons of television of anything which is saying something (I can see it's not to everyone's tastes and my brother-in-law who loved Lost hates it and thinks it's tumescent nonsense). I'm terrified it's just going to go the same way as Lost and shoot its load in the first couple of seasons before becoming a flaccid, dribbling mess.

For a first season it was very good and didn't have any of the problems SHIELD had. Having said that, I prefer SHIELD more and really looking forward to the next season, that's a show that gets better and better after a bit of a crap start.

Mad Men is the perfect show for @LitterBug to watch next, seven whole seasons of critical acclaim to shit on.

I've heard about it and caught a bit of an episode on Sky Atlantic but didn't really get into it. I've promised the missus I'm not starting any other series for a while so will give it some time before I watch this one.

Yeah of course but Simpsons is not classified as Drama. Cartoon wise I'd rank Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy. Love those three.
Just making sure. You might be infamous for not liking The Wire, 7/10 is still liking it though, but at least you've seen The Simpsons.

I didn't say I didn't like it. I struggled to get into it and didn't enjoy some bits. Overall I said it was enjoyable but not the best thing since slice bread. Only person not to have seen The Simpsons was @Gerrard in Istanbul

Why do you drag me into this Litterbug?

I looked into it. I don't know the Simpsons at all!

Nice, yeah I should get into the Simpsons really.

What is this 'Simpsons' you talk of? Is it a HBO drama?

What is this, has @Gerrard in Istanbul never seen The Simpsons?!!

I will eventually. Maybe.

You did say a lot that you didn't like it and compared it to EastEnders. But whatever.

Gerrard is the new benchmark for TV weirdos. A cross he has to bear until he easily fixes it.

What are peoples opinions of Hannibal?

I thought it started OK, then went a bit shit, then went to total shit by the end of season two and I stopped watching. The "I'm having him for dinner" joke never gets old though, in fairness.

Exceptional. It's an amazing show. It's a little pretentious at times, but the casting for the show is excellent, the character development is outstanding and the plots are brilliant. Series one was great, series two was better than the first, although it did dip in places due to the huge storylines running through the show. I initially thought Series 3 started very poorly compared to the previous two seasons but it has built up to be equally as good, if not better. I actually love the start of Season 3 now because it covered so many gaps and was mainly building the plot for the rest of the season.

The musical score to the show is sublime, some amazing music throughout each episode and it builds tension and suspense and accompanies the show perfectly. The dialogue is crisp and intelligent and the whole show is exceedingly well polished. It's hard viewing at times because the subject matter is so dark, but that makes it even more compulsive viewing in my opinion.

If you like the books or the films or have any interest in them at all then I would say this show is unmissable. If you haven't read the books or watched any of the films then this is the perfect place to start. It's easily a 9/10 show and personally, I think it's the best thing on telly at the moment.

Wait. What?

The end of season 2 was fecking brilliant and season 3 after a slow start has been superb. An excellent show overall.

Gutted it's been cancelled.

I thought season two just floundered around as the writers couldn't figure out where to go with it.

We watched about 7 episodes of season 1 back when it was first being aired, and we loved it. We kinda gave up because we were watching too many shows at once, but we really should get back to it. My brothers rave about it.

However, you're wrong. Rick & Morty is the best thing on TV at the moment.

Thank you. I was a bit worried with Tarrou's response as I'm halfway through Season 2 and absolutely loving it. Agree with the musical scoring being brilliant, I rewatched a bit of an episode I'd seen previously the other day and as I sort of knew the dialogue that was coming up I focused on the other aspects and the music is unreal. If you played it without any of the dialogue it'd just be a cacophony of noise but it's perfect for the show.

@Gerrard in Istanbul - you'll love The Simpsons.

Based on your other tastes it'd be the weirdest thing ever if you didn't despite giving it a proper try.

but we really should get back to it. My brothers rave about it.

Yeah, you should. It really does continue to outdo itself with every episode.

You're welcome. I did think you were asking more because you hadn't seen it, I didn't realise you had watched so much of it already. I really can't speak highly enough about it. The characters are probably my favourite part of the show. You really do feel you get to know each one almost intimately. Everyone has been cast perfectly and Mads Mikklesen is absolutely sensational as Hannibal. It's almost up there with The Wire in terms of how highly I rate the show.

How was the second half of Mad Men's 7nd season received? Worth watching? I loved Mad Men, but haven't gotten yet to watching the last episodes.

Mad Men is pretty much the most consistent 5+ season drama ever. By pretty much, I mean it is.

You can see here (but careful, spoilers) that it was widely very well received and globally the ending is seen as a success.

Personnally, I thought it was excellent. I'm currently re-watching all the seasons and watching them knowing how everything unfolds is great.

Thanks man, I'll watch the remaining episodes soon.
