Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Going into the last 5 episodes of Lost (what a pile of shit this show was!) I want a new TV show. The candidates are:

- House of Cards
- True Detective
- Rome

Eventually, I think to watch all of them (and True Detective definitely before the next season get released). So the main questions are:
- Does the quality of HoC decreases on the third season (read mixed reviews about it)?
- Rome got cancelled, right? If so, did it have closure or not.

At the moment, thinking to go with House of Cards.
Wtf, you haven't seen True Detective yet?! Watch it! Now!

Anyone watching Empire? Keep reading articles on how it's unexpectedly doing very well in the ratings and among critics.

I watched all of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Its basically a black Dynasty/Dallas late night soap big production family business drama. It did great numbers. Its been over ten years since a show saw ratings growth with each episode right down to the end. The finale had higher ratings than the average TWD episode, over 17M! Great music on the show.

Watched a couple of episodes because my wife was into it. Thought it was shit. You might like it if you're into soap operas though.

Whitechapel!

I watched all the episodes during the last couple of weeks, and then I find out that ITV cancelled it! Bastards..

There's a new series on Netflix just released called Bloodline. Just watched the first episode, not sure if I know what's going on yet.

I finished Sons of Anarchy last night. I may be the only person in the world still enjoying it by the end. But I thought it ended well. Nothing special, not a show that makes the pantheon of greats, but good, solid entertainment with an appropriately climactic ending.
I've got 5 episodes of it left and I'm still loving it. It is a much better show than I thought it would be so no complaints from me.

Finally watched the original French version of The Returned (Les Revenants). Not binged through a series for a long time, but did with this one.

Just watched that too. Was distracted by insanely hidef picture. Think it might be 4K? (I have a new telly)

Not sure what's going on either. Ben Mendelson is great though.

Is the whole season been put up? I assume so.

Has anyone watched Klondike?

I saw it on Amazon Prime Video and was intrigued. Well reviewed on there but I always think the ratings are inflated by the provider on streaming services.

Also same question but for Bosch, also on Prime Video.

I watched Klondike when it originally aired on the Discovery channel. Good viewing. I have two more episodes of Bosch to finish. I like it.

I've just started watching Modern Family. Really enjoying it, so many funny characters. Really good show IMO.

Yeah that's a really good show. There's a movie as well, set after the show I believe. I haven't watched it yet.

The original series is amazing! Haven't watched the US version, don't think I'll bother either.

The League is pretty mediocre really....I play fantasy football, and get the whole freakish levels some go for it, but still, just yeah, it's not really that funny. Maybe it's because it started on the back of Sunny or something, but probably not.

I've been missing anything TV wise for past month or two, no Better Call Saul yet, or the new season of Americans. Been catching up on my films instead. I'll binge BCS/Americans season 3 before Game of Thrones kicks off.

I finished it in Jan I think. Loved the show from start to finish.

It's just your new telly. Netflix doesn't have 4k resolution. They have compressed HD.

Finally got round to watching The League, absolutely hilarious.
Yeah I caned series six in one evening a few nights ago, a very good show. One episode with Rafi and Seth Rogen in a loony bin was especially excellent. In the Modern Family thread someone - might have been @Mockney, had a theory that series 2 of comedies is invariably better than series 6 - the idea being that comedies have a shelf life and cant sustain themselves as long as dramas can. Well Id have to go back and rewatch series 2 of The League to say with any conviction how series 6 compares but if there is a drop off in quality I dont think its significant, seems to be a very consistent show.

Yeah, I've since found that my subscription doesn't cover it either. And that won't change anytime soon as I'm logging into my father-in-law's account to get it for free!
It's like £3 more and you can have up to 8 devices logged in simultaneously as well as unlocking 4k - worth it.

I'm only on season two but loving it so far.

I don't think that's exclusive to comedies to be fair. Pretty rare for later seasons to be at the levels of what are mostly considered the best seasons of 2, 3 and 4. Can't think of many of the top of my head that aren't animated comedy at least.

The first season of Tina Fey's new show - The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - is up on Netflix. It's basically the same humour as 30 Rock with a chirpier disposition. I enjoyed it, and it contains a hilarious cameo from Martin Short, which is a sentence absolutely no one has said since at least 1992.

My new favourite. I wasn't sure about the first episode but by the end of the second I was in love. Highly recommended.

Ah, good to know maybe I should persist with this. Watched the first episode and found it very weak, with not much to laugh about. Maybe I'll go back to it.

I'm a little surprised how highly people rate The League. I think it tries way too hard and most of the scenes are just completely over the top, with situations that would never happen. I realize it's a comedy TV show, but I think IASIP is similar, yet achieves similar outrageous scenarios with a lot more subtlety.

Finished Bloodline on Netflix and really enjoyed it. It's well worth watching, I was surprised because it's had very little advertising/hype but its getting good reviews.

I also watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and found that surprisingly good as well, it's got me watching 30 Rock now( just reached season 3 and loving it so far).

I fecking love Netflix.
