Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

So do you need to have seen Breaking Bad in order to really appreciate Better Call Saul? I have the two episodes recorded, but I have yet to watch them yet.

No not really, I mean it would enhance the story for you as some characters from BB have and will appear in BCS because it is a prequel show. But Bob Odenkirk is such a fine actor the show works on its own merits too.

I wouldn't say you'd need to have seen Breaking Bad, but I think it would definitely be preferable.

There are some of the same characters and you won't recognise the references which although it wouldn't ruin BCS it would be a bit of a shame to have certain things going over your head.

No but there's that nostalgia feeling when an old cast member is in the episode.

Cheers

Good to know. I guess I have something to watch over the weekend

Yeah, if you haven't seen Breaking Bad then might as well start with it, then move onto Better Call Saul.

On BCS, planning to watch it, is it good?

Has anyone seen Magic City? It was a two season show (cancelled) on from the Starz network. If you like historical bioepics like Boardwalk Empire you might like this.

Exactly @Wittmann45, watch Breaking Bad if you haven't yet, you loon!

I had a long conversation with a very inebriated lady who I thought might touch me if I listened to her. She was very tipsy, yet very descriptive somehow, and she basically reenacted the last season of Breaking Bad for me. I've heard plenty of others speak about the show so I think I know every story line and each character arc, so I've been reluctant to start watching, but I'll still probably give it a try eventually. I still haven't even been through the last season of the Wire FFS, so that is first on my list of anything to binge watch.

The pilot was good! So the rest of the season is out now?

Guys, I would like to start watching Carnivale after finishing Deadwood, but is it worth it? I mean, everyone says it's a great tv series, but only 2 seasons and probably a rushed ending, if there is an ending at all, is discouraging for me.

Is it good enough to make a person watch unfinished show just like Deadwood is?

Does anyone know if Vikings is any good?

The first season was absolutely awful. No idea if they improved the quality on the second season cause I didn't want to torture myself with it.

I can understand people not liking the first season. But personally I thought it was great. The second season is better, mainly because I think they got a bigger budget, but it's a good enough show. Not in the same bracket as the Breaking Bads, Wires, Sopranos of this world, but enjoyable enough.

But if you've not seen it already, I would recommend The Americans. It's a great show and the third season will be starting soon.

It's really worth it. Carnivale is good. It does leave you wanting more a bit but in a strange way it works, only having 2 seasons.

Wow, if anyone loves the supernatural/horror genre, watch Penny Dreadful. The first episode was quality and very promising.
It went downhill after the first episode for me. Its not a bad show, its just not very intriguing. Solid 6 to 7 out of 10

I have these on my HDD 6-7 /10 sounds like it is worth a watch.

I agree with you about Penny Dreadful , 1st EP was the best 9/10 but the rest 6 or 7/10.
The last 2 EP's nearly up to the level of the 1st one.
Still very much worth watching, cant wait for the second season.

I'll have to go back to it, I only watched 6 episodes

Like what for instance? I watched BB btw and im watching BCS. I dont think a new viewer would be missing anything at all watching this fresh.

Maybe 'going over your head' was a poor choice of words, but for instance the appearances of Tuco and Mike wouldn't register anything. I dunno, perhaps I'm wrong.

A new Amazon Prime instant original starts today, Bosch. I've watched the Pilot, it looks promising. I don't expect greatness but I expect an enjoyable show.

If they live up to the books, this will be a brilliant show. The character doesn't have the right look, but his attitude and mannerisms etc. seem to be spot on. Really looking forward to this.

FYI Bosch is related to Micky Haller, the Lincoln Lawyer.

Interesting bit of trivia there

We're alive
Its an audio series about zombie outbreak (so not a TV show). The story is interesting, sound is quality, action sequences are amazing and the characters grow on you. Good listen all the way of its 12 chapters of 45-60mins a season x 4.
A good headset is highly recommended.

I've always thought Connelly's work would translate well into movies. Would love to see the Poet done as a movie, although people would probably think the Edgar Allan Poe stuff is ripped off from the Following.
