Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Yes. If you like Coens....which is basically asking if you like quality, but if you do, it's a homage to them, and perfectly done.

Yep, nothing better than binge watching a season in a day or two. Due to this I'll better switch BE with Hannibal as I didn't know it was still ongoing aswell.

I'm going to try to watch all these in 2015 in this order.

The Killing
Boardwalk Empire
Mad Dogs
Sons of Anarchy
Magic City
Hannibal
Game of Thrones

Great list you have here. You won't be dissapointed. You should take a look at the trailer for 'Peeky Blinders'. Im not sure where you're from but it looks like an English version of Boardwalk Empire. I didn't get into it at all but maybe you might

Recently saw that Fargo was added to Netflix, worth a watch?

Maybe netflix where you are, not for me in the states. The movie is on for me. Fargo dominated the Golden globe awards. I've only seen the first episode and it seemed decent, but when you've watched the movie the show takes a little getting used to.

Yeah I'm in Ireland, so I assume it just got added to the UK and Irish versions. We have the film version on it too.

The Wire and Game of Thrones are two of the best shows I've ever seen, you should mos def give them a watch. If you're more a fan of fantasy, then start with GoT, if you prefer contemporary crime dramas, then start with The Wire. Both shows are chock full of fantastic characters and great/funny dialogue. Probably why I love both of them so much.
Game of Thrones really isn't that good. Overated like Breaking Bad. Great entertainment but nothing close to the best ever.

GoT is a good show, but nowhere near the greatest. Lives on its hype and some fairly shocking twists (and tits, obviously), but there's so much filler stuff in it.
Like that cnut walking around in the snow for about a whole season

I always get the urge to force people to watch The Wire whenever they're going on and on about Breaking Bad or GoT being "greatest thing ever OMG".

And Mad Men. I love BB and GOT, but Mad Men and The Wire eclipse them. Sopranos too.

Yeah they're the 3 best for me. Deadwood would've been up there too if it hadn't been cancelled.

Haven't got round to watching Deadwood yet (probably next on my drama list whenever I can be arsed), but yeah, they'd be top 3 for me too. I personally prefer GOT to BB (which I still love), but I don't think it's quite good enough to make that top 3 level. I'd probably give the Wire top spot, although love Mad Men personally. I'll see what happens after it's final few episodes, then I can make my full judgement as to which I prefer.

If you haven't watched Spartacus yet, they put it on Canadian Netflix (maybe others too) so I suggest watching it, great show.

Yes it is. To me it is, that's why I said it was. I fcuking adore The Wire but GoT will always be number one. That could change, seeing as I'm only starting season 3 of The Wire because, it's soooooo damn good.

Everyone's opinions will differ, you can't change that no matter how it irks the likes of ye, Rooneyinparis, Nilson etc when people speak highly of GoT (I know the latter two really dislike it). Speaking of opinions, I'd rate BB in or around the same as Sons of Anarchy. One show is lauded as "the best" by many whilst the other is laughed at when people talk it up, similar to The Walking Dead, yet I'd put them on the same level, there or thereabouts. (7/10 for SoA, 7.5/10 for BB and while where here, 5/10 for TWD).

Soz for the essay bro. Coffee buzz.

I have to agree with the sentiment that GoT is a bit overrated. Have only watched until season 2 mind. It's still a good show but nowhere near the best, imo.

For me, True Detective was one of the best shows I've seen in recent years. That's why I can't wait to start Hannibal.

You're entitled to use that smiley in a condescending manner, I won't refute that.
As Vato already said, my smiley was aimed at your contradiction.

Like I already said, I like GoT, but I still rank it way below Sopranos and The Wire. Quite a bit below Breaking Bad as well, which is also really like but also find overrated.

WELL THAT'S HOW GOOD THE WIRE IS!

Eh, I'm preemptively expecting GoT to still be my fav when I finish up The Wire, but like I said it's that good it could change. I worded it poorly.

What do the really big Wire fans think of Generation Kill? I found it a bit of a chore to watch.

A chore? I could see that with some scenes, but I really enjoyed it overall. The scenes within the main humvee, or between Brad and Fick are really the strong points of the series. Some of the supporting characters aren't that great, understandably, but I find I liked it more on second viewing, which is a good sign. It is not the Wire, obviously, but it is still really good

I even prefer Oz to the Wire. Vastly underrated show that began the golden age of tv with dark characters being leads.
Yeah I love Oz too, I don't know where it'd rank in my 'top' of shows, but it's excellent even though it gets preposterous at times. Huge depth to it with the voiceover by Harold Perrineau. The character development is excellent, characters like Beecher, Chris Keller, Adebisi, Kareem Said, Schillinger, Tim, O'Reily, etc. have brilliant stories.

I don't dislike GoT, to be clear, I'm just a bit surprised when people put it up there with their favourite ever. What annoys me is that it's not even fantastic entertainment, it gets incredibly boring at times and season 2 was pretty meh. The production is superb and some of the actors (Tywin and Tyrion, mainly) are excellent, but the writing is a bit hit and miss and it relies too much on 5-10 minutes of excitement in an episode to generate buzz to the detriment of a good consistent show. The last season was a bit better though.

Can anyone recommend me any good shows like The Wire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad? Shows that have quality in writing of the dialogue, story, characters... etc.

I'm about to finish Deadwood and after I do, I just can't go back to watching mediocre shows like Arrow, The Originals etc.

So any good and new quality shows around? Thank you.

I'm the same. My brother watches loads of average shite like Arrow but I just can't keep watching after the first few episodes.

I'd recommend Sopranos but I guess you've already watched. I still say Prison Break, Lost and Heroes all started great if you don't mind only watching the first few seasons. Prison Break season 1 is still for me one of the best ever seasons of tv.

I hear great stuff about House of Cards so think that will be next on my hit list.

House of Cards is very good if you like the political thriller genre. Very addictive and great performances by Spacey and Robin Wright. It gets a bit silly at times but overall it's a stylish enjoyable show.

Reading your ratings for shows is like watching a loved one die.

Anyone knows a show Orphan Black?

A friend recommended it, but he watches all kinds of shit.

OZ was amazing, until they completely lost it towards the end and made loads of weird things happen like the prisoners singing and that stupid age injection, which automatically ages the prisoner to the length of their sentence!

It should at the very least go through some sort of public shaming.

I downloaded all 4 seasons on a recommendation. Watched 4 seasons in a week, then a week later I started watching it again! I'm half way through season 4, it's a brilliant show.

The only series that matches it is OZ. I still can't decide which one I prefer.
