Yes. If you like Coens....which is basically asking if you like quality, but if you do, it's a homage to them, and perfectly done.
Yep, nothing better than binge watching a season in a day or two. Due to this I'll better switch BE with Hannibal as I didn't know it was still ongoing aswell.
I'm going to try to watch all these in 2015 in this order.
The Killing
Boardwalk Empire
Mad Dogs
Sons of Anarchy
Magic City
Hannibal
Game of Thrones
Recently saw that Fargo was added to Netflix, worth a watch?
Yeah I'm in Ireland, so I assume it just got added to the UK and Irish versions. We have the film version on it too.Maybe netflix where you are, not for me in the states. The movie is on for me. Fargo dominated the Golden globe awards. I've only seen the first episode and it seemed decent, but when you've watched the movie the show takes a little getting used to.
Game of Thrones really isn't that good. Overated like Breaking Bad. Great entertainment but nothing close to the best ever. The Wire and Game of Thrones are two of the best shows I've ever seen, you should mos def give them a watch. If you're more a fan of fantasy, then start with GoT, if you prefer contemporary crime dramas, then start with The Wire. Both shows are chock full of fantastic characters and great/funny dialogue. Probably why I love both of them so much.
GoT is a good show, but nowhere near the greatest. Lives on its hype and some fairly shocking twists (and tits, obviously), but there's so much filler stuff in it.Game of Thrones really isn't that good. Overated like Breaking Bad. Great entertainment but nothing close to the best ever.

Like that cnut walking around in the snow for about a whole season
I always get the urge to force people to watch The Wire whenever they're going on and on about Breaking Bad or GoT being "greatest thing ever OMG".
Yeah they're the 3 best for me. Deadwood would've been up there too if it hadn't been cancelled. And Mad Men. I love BB and GOT, but Mad Men and The Wire eclipse them. Sopranos too.

Fair enough. Although I have to question your sanity.I prefer GoT and Breaking Bad to the Wire.

Yes it is. To me it is, that's why I said it was. I fcuking adore The Wire but GoT will always be number one. That could change, seeing as I'm only starting season 3 of The Wire because, it's soooooo damn good.
Everyone's opinions will differ, you can't change that no matter how it irks the likes of ye, Rooneyinparis, Nilson etc when people speak highly of GoT (I know the latter two really dislike it). Speaking of opinions, I'd rate BB in or around the same as Sons of Anarchy. One show is lauded as "the best" by many whilst the other is laughed at when people talk it up, similar to The Walking Dead, yet I'd put them on the same level, there or thereabouts. (7/10 for SoA, 7.5/10 for BB and while where here, 5/10 for TWD).
Soz for the essay bro. Coffee buzz.
He's not laughing at your opinion, just how quickly you changed your stance that GoT would always be nr1.You're entitled to use that smiley in a condescending manner, I won't refute that.
As Vato already said, my smiley was aimed at your contradiction. You're entitled to use that smiley in a condescending manner, I won't refute that.

What do the really big Wire fans think of Generation Kill? I found it a bit of a chore to watch.
Yeah I love Oz too, I don't know where it'd rank in my 'top' of shows, but it's excellent even though it gets preposterous at times. Huge depth to it with the voiceover by Harold Perrineau. The character development is excellent, characters like Beecher, Chris Keller, Adebisi, Kareem Said, Schillinger, Tim, O'Reily, etc. have brilliant stories.I even prefer Oz to the Wire. Vastly underrated show that began the golden age of tv with dark characters being leads.
I don't dislike GoT, to be clear, I'm just a bit surprised when people put it up there with their favourite ever. What annoys me is that it's not even fantastic entertainment, it gets incredibly boring at times and season 2 was pretty meh. The production is superb and some of the actors (Tywin and Tyrion, mainly) are excellent, but the writing is a bit hit and miss and it relies too much on 5-10 minutes of excitement in an episode to generate buzz to the detriment of a good consistent show. The last season was a bit better though.Yes it is. To me it is, that's why I said it was. I fcuking adore The Wire but GoT will always be number one. Can anyone recommend me any good shows like The Wire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad? Shows that have quality in writing of the dialogue, story, characters... etc.
I'm about to finish Deadwood and after I do, I just can't go back to watching mediocre shows like Arrow, The Originals etc.
So any good and new quality shows around? Thank you.

I thought it was incredible. I wish it was longer though.
Stay frosty.
Simon has a new mini-series on HBO soon http://collider.com/show-me-a-hero-oscar-isaac-catherine-keener-hbo/

Saying Oz is better than The Wire is a ban surely?
It should at the very least go through some sort of public shaming.
I downloaded all 4 seasons on a recommendation. Watched 4 seasons in a week, then a week later I started watching it again! I'm half way through season 4, it's a brilliant show.
The only series that matches it is OZ. I still can't decide which one I prefer.
