Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

What is it entirely about? I just watched the trailer for the first season and it lost me. Didn't look my cup of tea one bit.
It's about the workings of the vice president of the USA. Basically nothing ever goes smoothly and the people involved get tangled into webs of awkward situations and political suicide scenarios. It's based on 'the thick of it' if you've seen that, like a political satire.

I've never seen 'The Thick Of It' but I've heard great things. Suppose I might watch a few episodes and see how it goes. Cheers!

Maccaa, have you watched True Detective? Not seen it yet myself but it's meant to be great.
Completely forgot about this show! Still not seen it so I'll probably start it soon.

How To Get Away With Murder debuted on Friday, I haven't got around to watching it yet. Will do tonight. The trailer looks absolutely fantastic.

Can't wait to catch this one, trailer looks brilliant. Have you had a chance to watch it yet?

People on facebook won't shut the f**k up about Sons of Anarchy, can anyone here attest to how good it is, all style no substance? And just how tolerable is Charlie Hunnam? I absolutely hated him in Pacific Ring due to his terrible American accent.

It's good stuff. The guy from Arrested Development is great, and JLD is cast perfectly.

started watching Extant, it is pretty good.
Started this as well. I'm 3 episodes in and I'm liking it so far. The concept is pretty unique and I'm really looking forward to the rest of it.
I thought it was decent, still waiting to hear about Season 2, it was supposed to be a goner but CBS still haven't announced their decision.
I hate it when shows get cancelled after only 1 season. Hopefully there's at least a second.

It's just guns, fights and hookers on repeat. Hunnam's accent is all over the shop but you get used to it. Just check out the first episode and you'll see right away if it's for you or not, because the rest are more or less the same thing. I enjoyed it for what it's worth, it's just something you can watch without having to think.

Its a good show. Im hooked. Quickly watched and completed the first 5 seasons. Don't just watch the first episode like @Tarrou suggests, watch the first 2-3 at least. Hunnam's accent is not great especially when he does shouting scenes, but the strength of this show lies in good storytelling and a good supporting cast.

America is so swept up in the whole Scandal phenomenon. The women at work talk about it incessantly. The wife and I watched the first season and the eye rolling became more pronounced by the episode. Whenever I've seen any part of it since, it is just horrendous, soap opera level nonsense.

Kerri Washington was a serious piece of snatch (prior to the baby weight), but her character in the show almost makes me despise her. Now the writer, Shonda Rhimes, has a new show "How to get away with murder" with Viola Davis as the lead. Overacted, soap opera crap again. Almost exactly the same format and plot devices as scandal.

If I had a facebook account I would probably lose my shit at all the hyperbole that gets posted on there about Scandal.

Avoid at all costs.

Anyone here watch Love/Hate? What do ye think of it? After an a pretty terrible first season, they upped their game substantially so much so that season 3 would go down as one of my favourite seasons of any TV show I've seen.

Looking to get my brother a boxset for his 19th birthday and a bit stuck- so many to chose from. He enjoyed Lost, Inbetweeners, Prison Break, Life On Mars & Ashes to Ashes. Loves his comedy too especially Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell films.

He will love Eastbound and Down by the sounds of thing. Ferrell is attached to it.

I've been watching Friday Night Lights lately (i'm close to finishing 1st season). It's really good, but I prefer the episodes centered around football than the teenage drama ones, and lately there's been more of the latter ones.

This annoyed me too when I was watching it. You can't beat Hajime No Ippo when it comes to a Sports Drama.
