Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Watched the first handful of episodes of The Blacklist after seeing an advert on Sky.

Enjoying it so far, Spader is brilliant. Some of the special effects are a bit lame though, the train crash in I think the second episode was awful
I liked it as a series, the new one starts on Friday I think.

Ah right, I thought it was based on some chick-lit or something. Let us know if it's any good.

It is. Outlander started off well but by episode 5 I was getting the Mills and Boon vibe and then episode 6 went the full M&B. Utter garbage. Episode 7 wasn't that much better. I'm now only watching because the missus is hoping that it will get better. Another episode like the last one and she will quit on it. Which would please me.

How To Get Away With Murder debuted on Friday, I haven't got around to watching it yet. Will do tonight. The trailer looks absolutely fantastic.

Yea the advert I saw on Sky was talking about the whole of season one being available on demand in anticipation of S2 starting soon

I have just finished episode 17, and it's a tough watch. It's just too dull and too ridiculous. Ok, we have a fun and quirky (also a accomplished music box maker) character in Raymond Reddington, but opposite him are some of the blandest characters of the year. Ressler, jeez, just might be the worst in recent years. Of course, right along with that idiotic sheriff from Under the Dome.

Anyone watching The Knick?

I would also like to know this. Saw it advertised and looks promising, also getting good reviews.

It is different from the usual period dramas but has a curious streak to it.The last few episodes have been great and I think what is interesting about the show aren't much its characters but their work and how they go about doing it in early 19th century. It is fun to watch but not really the usual character driven series.

Something different sounds good, cheers for the info.

If you are looking for something dark, I would definitely recommend Ray Donavan..In the second season now..

Z Nation (SiFy)... recommended for all the zombie lovers.

only 3 episodes so far, and has been really good fun.

the typical zombie apocalypse tv series + some dark comedy

I was going to watch that but the ratings put me off...guess I'll give it a shot now though. Is it on Netflix?

Don't be fooled by the ratings. If anything, Z nation is a more realistic and entertaining version of The Walking Dead, minus the big budget.

If you make it to episode 3, you will be hooked.

"Fracking" zombies!!

ps. Don't know if it's in Netflix =/

Just about to start watching The Sopranos from S01E01 with my girlfriend. Is it amazing?

I'm saving that show, along with Sopranos/House of Cards

Shows I've watched but ended up stopping because i found them boring:-

Supernatural - About 10 shows in
Sons of Anarchy - About 4 episodes, everyone always goes on about it but just couldn't get into it at all.
Dexter - 3 seasons and gave up, boring.
Falling Skies - Season 2 episode 2
===

Shows currently watching:-

Person of Interest, really enjoying that at the minute

Shows completed or up to date with:-

Fringe
Walking Dead
American Horror Story
Prison Break
Spartacus
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Lost
Rome
Boardwalk Empire
Vikings
Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles
Homeland

Would recommend any of those on my completed/up to date list.

I know People always tend to say "Keep watching this or that Show - it will get better and better" when it Comes down to their favorite Shows.

However I REALLY recommend continuing Sons of Anarchy. I was not that impressed by the first episodes as well but it hooked me after the first half of season one. I have just finished season 5 and have to say this has been one of the very best (if not THE best) season of all Shows I have ever watched.
After this season this Show is up there with Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones in my personal all time top 3.

Holy Shat!

South Park is back!!!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!
Watched it in the metro this morning, a few smiles and giggles in there. Glad it's back!
Anyone watched Friday Night Lights? Heard great things about that one.
I love Friday Night Lights, it's teeny stuff that manages (for the most part) to avoid the annoying stuff of teeny series. A few posts about it here.

Once Upon a Time
Don't judge me :(
No, it's really good, it's got a Lost style story telling structure with flashbacks (to lives in the fairy tail world) so the characters are interesting and there are mysteries that unlike Lost, are actually solved.

I watched the first episode, it made The Walking Dead look like Shakespeare.

Shakespeare must be rolling in his grave right now.

But yes, the first episode is terrible. The second is better. The third is awesome. Is up to you to keep going and find out. If you like zombies, you should obviously.

looking forward for tomorrow's episode "Full Metal Zombie"

Firefly was such an awesome TV show. I just finished watching the first (and only) season and I still can't get my head around the fact that Fox killed it. What a rotten company.

Man it's awful. Why didn't they try and actually hire an actor for the lead, instead of a wooden plank? Always felt that was a weird way to go. 'Prince Charming'- the only man alive less charismatic than John Barnes.

Anyone still resisting watching The Good Wife should give in. It's brilliant and the new series is off to another flyer.

Any good TV shows what have recently started? Not watched a show from when its aired since Game Of Thrones started!
I could recommend Veep, it started in 2012. Brilliant show, but you need to give it a little time, then it gets better and better. I also enjoyed the first season more after watching it the second time, there are a lot of small gems and nuances in the dialogue you don't necessarily catch the first time.

What is it entirely about? I just watched the trailer for the first season and it lost me. Didn't look my cup of tea one bit.

If you've seen 3 seasons of Dexter, do yourself a favour and watch season 4. It's by far the best season and John Lithgow is great in it. You can end it after that though, it gets real shit afterwards. But yeah, season 4 was Dexter's peak and is worthy of your time.

Vikings is a great show. Found it on Amazon Prime and was hooked. Binged on two seasons in 3 days. Can't wait for season 3. Also just caught up with Walking Dead, just in time for the new season.
