Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Episode 9043 of Poldark, and Ross does something or other; who cares? More importantly, here's a pic of Domestos Demelza:

Oh feck off, GLOW's an actual romp. Think it's the most I've enjoyed a Netflix show really....helps that no one is seemingly forcing it on me(yet). It's nothing groundbreaking, all the 80's tropes are generally there, but it just works, and well, Alison Brie chews it up, she's nuts, her Fight Club-esque wrestling herself is hysterical.

Anyone watching El Chapo on Netflix? I'm about 3-4 episodes into it. The main character isn't as interesting yet as Pablo Escobar but it's still good fun.
Just seen half the first episode. It's good enough to give it a season atleast.

I don't understand this thread lovefest about The Leftovers. I started season 3, but couldn't continue beyond ep 2, it was so bad.

Did you not enjoy season 2?

I liked S1 better. I mean the initial premise was promising. But then 'Lost' like Christian mystical mumbo jumbo began to creep in, and everything, at least for me, went rapidly downhill.

That's quite unusual. I seem to like season 1 a lot more than most people but still thought season 2 was on another level and season 3 continues at that level. I also thought the season 3 premiere was brilliant. If you're expecting answers then it was probably wise to give up as very little is resolved or explained.

Bosch is good- Amazon- detective from books by Michael Connelly

Deutschland 83 from Sundance was great. Cold war stuff in east/west Germany

Preacher is quality. Stranger Things is also a must if you haven't seen it. If you like Star Trek I highly recommend Star Trek Enterprise which for some reason is the most disliked Star Trek series, but which I would class as one of the best. Watching it at the moment and besides DS9 it is the only Trek series I've really enjoyed. Then again I am not a proper Trekkie.
Preacher season 2 has started , first 2 eps are out there.

Finally seen The Exorcist. Never did care much about the film and the subject matter, so postponed and postponed the start of the series. It was good though, glad I've seen it. Maybe the plot wasn't its high point, but quite liked the cast and characters, priests and the Rances both. Short season too, which is another plus.

Guess they'll go with the priests only in next season, as the story of Rance family looks quite over. Also, glad for the final scene.

Did you guys watch The Mist yet? 3 episodes out so far, pretty darn good. It's based on the Stephen King novel.

For the Narcos type people, there's Ozark (not out yet, i think) and El Chapo.

I liked the movie The Mist. How does the tv show differ?

Coronation Street.

Anybody else like the docu-shows they have on the Discovery Channel? I've been a fan of Wicked Tuna, Biggest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Gold Divers and the like for a few years now. There's a new show only 3 episodes in called Devils Canyon - this article explains it much better than I ever could:

Deep in the bush of British Columbia there is a new gold rush happening in area known as Devil’s Canyon. Hundreds of millions of dollars in gold are waiting for anyone who is willing to risk their life to get it.

Extreme prospectors Boyce Goff, Ben van der Valk and John Belcik travel separately into the areas of Devil’s Canyon that are far beyond the reach of big mining companies, in search of the next big pay streak. No roads, no trails, no camera crew, no help. They must pack in everything they need to mine and survive in the cruel wilderness of Devil's Canyon. Alone for weeks, and self-documenting their experiences, both men are caught in a tug-of-war between searching for gold and doing whatever it takes to survive.

Thanks for the tip, I love both gold mining, general mining shows and survival shows. Think I've seen every gold mining show out there.

Will check this out.

Little known tip if you've seen most gold mining shows is 'Aussie gold hunters', it is about 4 crews mining in different ways in the outback. Not any fake drama and the likes but just mining and prospecting.

Any fans of Blackish on here? It's slowly become one of my favourite comedies.

I'm watching it. I do quite like it, and Anthony Anderson is excellent as per. But I think alot of episodes are hit or miss, Doesn't seem to be a middle ground with it. That might just be me though.

I'm finally on the Rick & Morty bandwagon. I watched a couple of episodes a year or so ago and it just didn't click with me. Gave it another go a couple of weeks back and it is a riot.

There's some pretty deep moments in it too:
The bit at the end of an episode, where Rick tries to kill himself, but falls asleep just before the laser beam goes off. Damn, yo.

It gets serious belly laughs too. More than any other animated show, for me. I had to pause it after the first time I saw the Ants In My Eyes Johnson bit. I couldn't breathe.
It's a fantastic show.

My wife is watching Love Island every night, and theres only so much I can watch on the WWE Network without getting burned out so Ive starting watching Sherlock from the beginning on Netflix. Enjoying it but having a short attention span and an inability to binge watch anything is a bit of a problem when it comes to watching tv shows.

Yeah, it's a bit superhero-ish, but I still enjoyed it. Narcos are better though.

So what's the general thoughts on 'El Chapo'?

I enjoyed the show,
but wish they'd have shown more of the first part of his life, ie the build up to his arrest, his rivalry with the cartel. Maybe that should have been season 1, rather than him being in prison. Having said that the prison bit would have been quite boring if i was just focused on that rather than the flashbacks to his past.

Pretty similar premise. It's just that they've dramatized the whole thing and built up the characters greatly. It's totally worth a watch in my opinion, especially if you've watched the film :)
