Started watching The Mick, a pretty decent series so far
I like it too. I thought it'd be shit.Started watching The Mick, a pretty decent series so far
Deadwood is a Western done HBO style. Tough and dirty, like the Wild West actually was. Some great acting. Even though Olyphant isn't a great actor he's in his element here, just like with Justified.Thinking about watching the following shows...
Westworld
Deadwood
Orange is the new Black
House of Cards
Are these shows worth watching? I've heard Deadwood is excellent but don't know much about it. Can somebody give a quick summary for each show without spoilers of course. (I would google them but I avoid spoilers at all costs )
Yeah, I was quite surprised by the dip between 2nd and 3rd season. I mean they weren't brilliant, but it was watchable - but that A.I. shit3rd and 4th (so far) seasons of The 100 are flat out idiotic.
re: the Vikings - it does.I've hardly seen series lately but I'm enjoying the season of Blindspot and I'm looking forward to watch Designated Survivor second part of the season. I started to see "Sniper",It´s not bad.
I like "the 100" although the first seasons are better.
"The Colony" is quite entertaining and original. The second season is good. The second season of "The Path" is not too good and although I like the idea of the show I do not see much future.
I still have to see the Quarry and Expanse.
I really like Vikings but I have a question for those who watched this seasonThe show goes down once Ragnar dies? Or does it still have a future?
Watched it this morning. Strange as it's pretty much a carbon copy of the King of Queens but without Leah Remini. I have high hopes for this series and might actually be going to a live taping of it in November while i'm in NY (that depends whether I can be bothered to trek to Long Island though).
Agree that the show will get panned though, and worringly the TV Execs don't have as much patience these days unfortunately. On a side note I recently went back and watched all the King of Queens episodes again. Such a great show.

House of Cards is political theatre, again with some good acting. It's bingeworthy. Hell, it might be the origin of the term.
Thanks lads. Going to start with Deadwood tonight.@Tom Van Persie Deadwood is the best of the ones you mention, by far. Up there with The Wire. It's TV perfection.

Without giving away too much, does it have an actual resolution or is it left in a state of annoyance eg cancellation?
it was cancelled, but the resolution (what would have been the last season) its pretty much obvious, so not big deal. It works perfectly as a finished tv series in my opinion.
I'll have to disagree. I was slightly annoyed with how it was left. Didn't feel fulfilling imo.
Still well worth a watch though. Outstanding show.

Can anybody recommend some British dramas? I've already seen a fan of Broadchurch, Line of Duty, The Missing, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Luther, Happy Valley, Peaky Blinders and Sherlock.
The Fall - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294189/
"A psychological thriller that examines the lives of two hunters. One is a serial killer who stalks his victims in and around Belfast and the other is a talented Detective Superintendent from the MET who is brought in to catch him."
The detective is played by Gillian Anderson (Scully from X-files). The serial killer steals the show though.
The psychiatrist who draws? I watched the first episode of that and didn't really warm to it. Though I have said that about many of my favourite shows, and have heard good things.
How much stock can I put in the first episode for this one?
Been a while since I saw it but I really liked it, on the other hand I never warmed to Broadchurch or the Missing.
The greatest thing about it is how they portray the serial killer. He is a loving father and normal in every sense of the word besides the whole serial killer part. Sort of like a Dexter, only with realism added.
I thought they caught him at the end of S2?

Black Mirror
The Hour
Yeah, BM is really good. Lot of great British shows out there in a lot of genres...Big fan of Black Mirror but hadn't heard of The Hour, will check it out. Cheers.
So what do people use to watch a tv show these days (for shows that aren't on netflix..). My old sites went down a while ago and I have no idea what to use.

Its OK , not a patch on Man in the High Castle but watchable.Anyone else watching SS-GB? Not really sure what to make of it so far.
Also just started watching the TV series of Lethal Weapon. Terrible first episode with the car chase that ended up on the race track and a few other stupid moments but overall looks like it could be a fun watch.
