Antony under investigation by Brazilian authorities for domestic abuse | Inquiries ended | Back in the squad

In his very early days he sort of was. Quickly developed and grew into a different kind of player.
Yeah I suppose he was. More evidence that the “touchline hugging winger” blithely skipping along without a defensive care in the world has had no place in the game for a good long while now.

Which I agree with @golden_blunder is sort of a shame. But that’s the way it is.

At the same time I totally have no issue with the likes of those wingers I called out. They were excellent at getting back to help their fullbacks and also bombing down the wing to fire crosses in

What pisses me of here the most is that there is no any predictability to when will he return, and if he returns at all. We're just stuck with him and Sancho, without right wingers basically and we spent huge money of them. Disaster.

Can't we bring him back into the fold? Hard to imagine all the background stuff is going to be resolved any time soon. He's put stuff out there, he's had time to collect himself. What are we waiting for? It's slightly ridiculous how we seem to be the only club that handles these situations in such an opaque and baffling way.

lack of leadership from the very top (i.e. our dear Glazers).

matters like these, and overall tricky PR situations, require clear direction and decision making. Dont think Arnold and team can take decision on how the Club needs to be perceived

I agree that they're different, being injured is worse.
Is it? Injuries and subsequent rehab are ten-a-penny nowadays. Being publicly accused of violent crimes (and subsequently being dropped the national team) seems like a totally different kind of pressure and experience.

In the terms of a stalled career? Yes, a few weeks off while being physically healthy is better than being injured while trying to break into the team. It can of course be a worse experience.

We are the only club who are forced to suspend our players while Partey , Alonso, Bissouma, Grealish do as they please.

Nobody is forcing us. We've just set a horrible precedence.

Watch some accusations popping up before cup finals now that we've opened this can of worms. The other clubs aren't even addressing it.

He's coming back:

Think he should be back soon, don't think his situation warrants him being out for a million years.

Antony wasn't suspended, he wanted the time off to sort out his legal stuff and the club agreed.

This.

It seems to have quietened down a lot since the phone call leak and withdrawal of a false claim.
I’m actually delighted it’s quietened down as it allows the investigation to go through smoothly without the court of public opinion weighing in and disrupting it and generating Pro/Anti Antony agendas. Let’s see what comes from it.

What's Grealish done?
I remembered something about england player was getting blackmail by escort. Then photo leak online? It was just really weird and none of anyone's business. Definitely not suspend worthy .
Maybe Grealish also did other shit. I dont know.

One problem is (I'm not taking any sides here) that once you get this stamp, you'll probably never get rid of it.
Just imagine to get accused of something like this and you're totally innocent. Must be a nightmare.

Once again, I'm not saying he's innocent. No fire without smoke etc, but I also think there's a lot of people seeking attention and money.

We've missed him (same as last season whenever he was out), he's the only one of the forward line who can consistently progress the ball and help us retain possession. Excited to see him with Rasmus, Bruno, Mount, Amrabat and Case as thats a set of players who all can press and put in a shift.

Antony's hasn't been suspended. Chill out guys. He's just been given compassionate leave to sort his issues out.

If you think it was Antony that came up with that idea, I have a bridge to sell to you.

It probably is the club's idea, but if we wanted to play Antony in the next match, I'm sure we can. He isn't technically suspended.

Grealish supposedly partook in some of Benjamin Mendy's orgy parties and was pretty close with him, but I don't think any accusations came out of it.

He also had a drunk driving incident that was caught on video and generally has quite the reputation for excessive drinking.

The blackmail story was an OnlyFans "model" who slept with United's very own Mason Mount and then started stalking him and blackmailing him. She also tried to blackmail Ben Chilwell and Billy Gilmour.

Antony’s return is very much welcomed right now. Pellistri is pants.

I feel the exact opposite. Antony is better physically but Pellistri creates more. Should have had a pen yesterday and the first goal doesnt happen without him. He is much more willing to take on the fullback.

I get that as he runs behind. But so does Rashford however one is actually strong and scores goals.

He shouldn’t have had a penalty he should have put it in the back of the net and that’s my problem with him.

He’s young and needs development so I have no issues with that. But at the highest level it will cost us games. Just like we could have been 1-0 against Bayern if he had a mans physique and conviction. But like I said he’s young.

Which one of your gripes with him is fixed with Antony?

Different profile of player but he creates more opportunities and works his fullback more frequently!! A lot of our attack is balanced with Antony on the pitch. Pellistri offers f all but two attacks a game and one of those is a wasted G/A.

My sentiments. I don't know if Pellistri is the answer but I know Antony certainly isn't, one of the most frustrating players we've ever had.

The team as a whole is better with a mobile pellistri type player instead of a static wide player. You can get great goals from Antony but you get more players involved and space in the midfiled with a player like pellistri. Am not saying pelistri is the answer . We need players in the mould of winger than an attacker.

I think it's more likely Bruno or Mount will play there than Pellistri anyway.
