Probably the most memed footballer at the moment, that miss just adds on even more material for memes. I do actually feel bad for him, seems to have a good attitude and tries his best but just simply isn't good enough, then the price tag puts that extra weight of pressure, a recipe for disaster.

It would be an exaggeration to say he has been good in any of his resent cameos, but still, I see some potential in the chemistry between Antony and Amad on the right. I would like to see them getting more chances playing together before totally giving up on him.
I think he's looked ok in some of his cameos under Amorim but I think he's being frozen out so he looks for a move, similar to Rashford and Casemiro.

I don't mind so much about the miss. That seemed more like a one off. What I don't like is that he systematically slows the game down when he receives the ball, which is usually followed by either a back pass or him doing something stupid to lose it.
I think it's very fair to say that Antony has been given enough chances already.
Our two worst performing players are also our two most expensives ones.

I still for the life of me don't understand why we haven't at least tried him once at LWB, like seriously . He's been positive when he comes on. Full of energy. It's so clear we need to stretch that side of the pitch to make more space in the middle for crosses and cutbacks.... the only thing I can think of is he is refusing to play there because if Amad is tough enough to play the right then Antony should be ok for the left. Even the threat of someone going on the outside the odd time would give the opposition something different to think about. Either that or we are practically giving him away for free this window or the next
Who knows, he didnt react very well that time when ETH wanted Antony to play as left back. He might just refuse to play there, he might tell Amorim he doesnt feel confident to play there. Lets be honest, he was signed for loads of money for a position where he could cut inside and shine with goals and assist. In his mind he was going to be make left backs look stupid and top the charts with goals and also some assist. Then he is asked to play as a left (wing) back. That is quite the demotion and ego-check.
Saying he is not good enough suggests that there's something he can do to improve and put in acceptable performances. This guy should change careers immediately. Totally hopeless as a footballer.
It's a transfer that would've never happened it it wasn't for what Greenwood did. Not that that's an excuse for ten Hag and the board for paying so much to get Antony.
