He gets really frustrated when he doesn't perform well, he suddenly becomes a danger to other players due to him lashing out. He did it 2 weeks ago too if i remember correctly.

Again I ask, it must be a confidence thing but this whole slowing down/stopping the ball and shimmying around it while it's there is not effective wing play.

It probably is a bi-product of his confidence being down but he seems right now to be unable to take a ball and do something basic like move around a player at speed let along something with genuine magic. I know I am not big on 'xx player needs to be dropped to regain form' but he needs a few games off to have a rest or something.

It's clearly not working for him on the field at the moment.

You make him sound like an unstable re-offending criminal.

He needs to get the ball earlier.

He is low on form and confidence. So when he gets the ball and has to think too much, he fecks up.

Today he got a nice early pass and did an instinctual cross that Chicharito should have scored.

Get him the ball early so he can stretch those legs and burn the fullback. This is his bread and butter and beating fullbacks will get that confidence back.

I really don't have any hatred for him, I just think he is shit atm, find my older posts on him, I think I have regulary praised him last season. The thing is, he is shit this season, he doesn't deserve to start games by any means.

How does that actually translate to you wishing he was actually sent off ? You're not sane I think

I support club more then I support any of our players, that's why I want him out of first XI.

One red card wouldn't do him any harm, it would be second yellow, so one game ban is nothing. He is nowhere near his best level, and by his recent form he doesn't deserve to be nowhere near first XI.

..

Hes really good when he gets the ball and uses the width of the pitch to beat his man. Its the part where he stops or cuts in, and then realises he has no left foot that means he panics and ends up slowing the play or giving the ball away (normally by getting it back to his right foot and hitting it into the opposition)

He must be playing with an injury. It's surely the only explanation.

That doesn't make sense whatsoever. Why not actually wish him to be put on the bench if his form doesn't warrant him to start matches ? Or even better, why not wish him to get injured while you're at it ? This way, you'd be sure he wouldn't play :wenger:

Maybe he means it would prevent him from getting a retrospective 3 match ban? Compared to that a 1 match ban would be an improvement obviously.

No, he means he wanted him to get sent off so he would be ineligible on Saturday, as silly as it sounds.

Okay, you turned it now into a joke. What do you think on his form in last few months, he deserves to start every match?

If he really meant that, he'd have said it already.

It sounds incredibly silly if you ask me.

The guy is struggling with confidence and I don't see how a red card could help him in any way whereas there much better methods for him to be on the bench/rested

I think he has been a shadow of his former consistent self, deserving to start matches means feck all when there are many injured players.SAF does the best with the players he's got fit and available.Your question would be pertinent if Nani or Kagawa were fit.
You're clutching at straws there

What other options did we have today to put on the right wing?

In last few games there were options for sure, and I don't know where Welbeck and Young were today.

Who was injured? You really think our three players got injured in last two days in training?

Nani and Kagawa like I just wrote. With them out, there aren't many other options on the right to replace Valencia. That's why SAF rushed him back for the derby and since then keeps playing him.

Welbeck,Young?

We need another winger desperately if only to but a bit of pressure on Tony. He's got no rival for his spot despite playing shit.

So, in young we have an option. And why not Welbeck?

ffs, maybe because Young is actually a winger and has played several times on both wings in his career.Welbeck is talented but struggling enough up front, on the wing there is a reason why SAF doesn't try him on the right at all.

You missunderstood me, I agree on young, that's why I said, he is an option, why wouldn't we use him?

And Welbeck has played on the right in last year.

Cause he's not a winger?

He is not good as when is up front, but he surely can play on the wing.

He was not good today, again. He was very lucky to not get a second booking. Awful from the ref to let him away with it.

His confidence right now seems to be in Torres level. I don't know what is happening with him, but he is really playing some levels below his best. Playing with injury could be a possibility, dunno, but he seems a completely different player to Valencia of past seasons.

Only good thing was that he showed some improvement towards the end of the game, lets hope he picks it up from here

Welbeck has looked hopeless whenever we've used him on the wing. It wouldn't really be an improvement.

No he hasn't. He was great couple of times, against QPR and Stoke he was strong candidate for MOTM, played very good first half against Chelsea in capital cup, and played two very good games against newcastle earlier this season.

Sensed a tiny bit of the Valencia of old today though was still overall quite poor. Should have been sent off too.

very lucky to get away with that today. Could have broken the guys leg and it was a straight red IMO. It's the frustration causing this though and he tried it against Sunderland too, went in two footed and got away without a booking. He's been useless for a while now!

Played better today. Still not great, but there were signs at least of the Valencia we all love. He took players on quite a few times and actually put in a couple of crosses today which was promising even if nothing really came out of the moves themselves. Hopefully he can build from this and play himself into some form and confidence
