More bad than good. He set up Welbeck near the end, but still took an absolute age to decide what he wanted to do. Needs a spell out the team. I don't expect him to start on tuesday.

I thought again there were some decent signs from him but was still quite frustrating at times. The amount of times the ball gets worked out to him 1 on 1 with his full back and we have 3-4 players in the box and the ball doesn't come in is amazing. Still looks like he's picking up somewhat and tbf he's played a lot of games, he, evra and Carrick really are due a rest soon.

Same here, thought he was much better than he has been in the last couple of games but he's still along way from his best. I hope this improvement is a sign of things to come.

He was slightly better than the last few terribles performances he delivered (the matches before the Newcastle one specially), some good work off the ball and he helped out Smalling plenty but again why the feck does he take so long to cross the ball :wenger: ? I really don't get it

Out of like 15 good passing/crossing positions he delivered like 3 good balls. Needs to look up and learn how to use a player like Kagawa.

Like playing with 10 men every week. Wish he'd feck off somewhere else at this stage. Though if we tried to sell him, I'm sure he'd just stand still without signing the contract until the other club didn't want him anymore.

You talk about usernames, and yet your footballing intelligence has to be questioned. You would be the first to scream once Val scores a goal. Talk about fickle. I even thought the newbie matchday threads were bad, and we are supposed to look up to the mains...in your case, nothing to learn here.

Feels like he has 2 options when he gets the ball on the right. Smash the ball somewhere in the box hoping it'll hit someone and go in or pass the ball with a cutback towards the penalty spot. Crossing is no longer an option

I'm not even angry anymore. Just when you think he finds some form he comes out and demolishes every hope. But the good thing is that my expectactions have dropped so dramatically when it comes to him that I don't really expect him to do anything with the ball anyway and when a pass eventually finds one of our man it feels like a huge success

His decision making is very poor at the moment. He had the ball on the wing at one point and three of our players moved into space in the box, he kept hold of the ball and did his new move of standing like a statue as the opposition defender closed off his angles.

For the time being, I am a bit worried for the Roonster and Val because they cannot find their form but, I believe they will during the second half of the season around the middle of January. If we were to tell every player to go and do one that hasn't played well, we would have no players left, yes, even RVP has had an average game at least once.

At one point he received the ball sort of centrally, and had I think Van Persie on the left of him running wide to receive the ball, instead of making that simple pass with his left and playing into space, he pivoted around completely and gave the ball to Cleverly who was behing closed down with the outside of his right foot. It was equal parts painful and awesome.

He is clearly getting better and is much more confident now. It's a matter of time now before he grabs a couple of assists.

The one that annoyed me is at the end, we were breaking with pace.

He did his stupid little shuffle when he saw a defender, messily got his way past him on the inside had a very easy chance on his left foot and instead passed to Welbeck with his right.

In the end Welbeck worked the keeper with a good shot from a harder angle but it was poor play from Valencia.

Not too bad, actually. I saw enough promising signs from him today. At least he was trying to take players on again, even when they decided to double mark him.

But he did resort to that predictable routine on too many occasions. 'Faces defenders, tries to shuffle to the right, no space, so he then tries to blast it somewhere in the box.' We either need to create more space for him, or he needs to find another way to be effective. A top winger always has to create a problem when defenders think they have the solution to them.

Thought he was much better then usual. Probably his best performance of the season tbh, says a lot because he was still crap
He at least swung in a few crosses, and tried shooting occasionally. Got the assist for RVP as well, even though he didn't do all too much for it.

It's actually really painful to watch now. You can see it in his face, he knows how badly he's playing.

Its strange, he's not doing anything that he used to. Which was running, at full pelt, at the full back and then whipping in a cross. He does neither now. Those were his best attributes. He's never been about beating players with skill, its just sheer pace and power with him. yet, its like he just cant do that anymore.

Is he carrying an injury still? And maybe that's why he can't run at speed?

That was piss poor beyond belief.

Cross it earlier, please. Stops too often, then stands touching the ball with his right foot, waits and then blindly shoots the ball in. That irritates me quite a lot.

Why are you worried about Rooney? He is second behind RVP in the Premier League combined goals and assists chart for the season and a few games back he scored a brace against our bitter title rivals - on their own patch!

pfft.. Every dreamer would have loved to get as much space as Valencia got today, he got into so many good situations where he just had to put in a good ball or just take on the defender. As defenders know he will never try a dribble and they just stand and wait for him to cross.

This static Version of Valencia disappoints, what happened to the raging Ecuadorian beast that just found a defender, played it to his right, sped passed and crossed a sharp pin point cross into the box.

This slow, pull and stop version of trying to hold on to the ball longer is worse than and out of form Nani.

He doesn't look like scoring, doesn't look like beating a full back and looks incapable of a No.7.

I'm critizing hard because today, he had acres of space, imagine Ronaldo with that much space to dribble into, he would have at least tried something that could lift the team spirit.

His only good ball was to A.Young which of course is another off-form winger who miss kicked the ball and cannot score to save his life anymore.

Hope they improve, against RM, in positions like these you'd want us to try to create a good chance at every decent attempt.

No more holding up play, just go with pace and be direct... Come on ya Tony V... this ain't your true form, stop holding back.

He is going outside the fullbacks anymore.. slows down often when he reaches the box..

But he did alright. Had a shot on goal that was saved by foster, had another one that was blocked and went out for a corner.
Had a couple of really good cut backs. The one for Young shouldve been a goal.

Helped out a lot at the back.

Not at his free flowing best.. but its not like he was a liability.. He did his part.

I thought he played better then he did in some of the games earlier, but feck me he is frustrating to watch.

Yeah he is a bit shit. We should have sold Rooney and De Gea last week too. Talking about this, why don't we sell Young and Vidic too.

You see everything as goals and assists don't you? It is his all-round performance that seems to be terrible.

I thought he was ok today. Some poor decisions but he played a few good crosses in especially the one to young which was mishit. Still our most disciplined winger defensively but hopefully will keep improving on the attack.

When will the torture end.

This. He is hopelessly out of form to the point where it's looking a bit ridiculous now. Needs to be dropped IMO. I mean, if you aren't dropped after such a long and prolonged spell of poor form then when will you ever be?

There may well be an outstanding game just around the corner, but he could probably do with a little rest from the team - which is where Nani's injury is such a blow, although admittedly his form hasn't been great either at times, but he is certainly capable of that piece of magic that scores or creates a goal

Do we have a return date for Nani as yet? Any signs of him in training photos? Physioroom.com wasn't particularly helpful
