What game were you watching? He put in two good crosses, one was the header for Chicharito and the other for the RVP goal. Thats it, he was awful the rest of the way.

Manchester United vs Newcastle United.

I actually wanted Mike Dean to show him red.

Standards have really dropped if people are saying he played well today. If he played ok, Giggs could challenge for Ballon d'or with that performance.

That what I meant without going into details. Two good crosses is more than the sum of his last three matches

His best game in ages for me, ok first half but looked full of confidence in the second. Set up Van Persie's goal with a great ball.

Definitely an improvement but still nowhere near the standard required. A couple of excellent crosses mask the overall performance which was pretty poor, average at best.

It wasn't a great performance by any stretch. But second half, he showed signs of coming back to his old self.

He was diabolical in the first half and good towards the end. Showed some passion for fecks sake.

About 2/3rds through the game Tony seemed to remember his strength is running down the flank and putting crosses in and started doing that instead of standing still with the ball constantly. I dunno what was going on in his head til then though.

exactly. And thats what we want.

Rest him against WBA and bring him back fresher for the following game

 Wow.

Much improved from the Swansea game but i still feel he is yet to hit 100%.

It is rare when a poor run of form ends with a stunning performance. It normally happens gradually.

So lets hope this is the start of his return to form

I'm fairly sure it's got something to do with Nani being an evil wizard gremlin. Very talented, but also very unstable, which is why Fergie wants him out. Nani, angry, used bad wizard skills to turn Valencia from consistent to consistently shit - but as we edge closer to the transfer window, Nani's powers weaken, which explains why Valencia bursts out of his curse in little patches now. It's pretty simple when you really think about it.

And how would that have helped United :wenger: ? Do you support the club or its supposed "standards" ?

Err, feck off and support another team then? Attacking players the way you do has nothing to do with supporting a team. Everybody knows Valencia is class, he was our player of the season last year ffs.

How come? I'd rather he showed a red to the lad that got fouled than Valencia himself. In fact that would have been excellent.

I don't know what he's thinking here.

I support club more then I support any of our players, that's why I want him out of first XI.

One red card wouldn't do him any harm, it would be second yellow, so one game ban is nothing. He is nowhere near his best level, and by his recent form he doesn't deserve to be nowhere near first XI.

He should have been off for that tackle alone, no doubt about that. However I agree it's immature to wanting him be banned as that just limits our options. Not like we have abundance of wingers on the bench...

Well, I would want that too, but red card in final minute for their won't do us any good.

Valencia has not only lost his spark up front, he's also having a difficult time tracking back. Seems he has forgotten have to play.

Maybe coming back in form around the same time as last year? Hopefully it's not just wishful thinking, he's great when on form but he hasn't shown it since April.

Actually, thinking about it, he's like this every year (although not to the same extent). Shit before new year, great after until end of season and then repeat. I'd rather have nani's inconsistency to be honest, as he can still beat players when off form.

No, but it would teach him not to get injured by Valencia in the future, ffs I mean why even be a position where that can even happen? He's got the entire pitch to run around on and he chooses the only place where Valencia happens to be sliding in dangerously? A ban would do him good and some common sense by the looks of it.

It would harm the team you tool.No matter how one tries to twist, there is no way a sane fan would want one of his players sent off even if he was clearly wrong like Valencia was.
Your hatred for him makes you spout some huge shit.

He should have IMHO too but I was hoping Dean would also feck up that decision. It would be incredibly dumb to wanna have one of your players sent off.

Is their something wrong with you?

Strange, and worrying, form. He just doesn't seem to be able to brush past full-backs at the moment. Played a good ball when Chicharito missed that sitter of a header, other than that he was fairly shite, again.

He's been coasting for a good while now. We really need Young, Nani, Kagawa, etc available to give him some competition. As it stands he's in the team by default and isn't quite doing enough for me. There was plenty of space to exploit but the crossing wasn't accurate enough and he didn't cause them enough problems.

When possible we need to give him a little break.

I thought he got better at the game went on, we improved and found more spaces. I don't know if this is the turnaround we're hoping for, but at least that's something.

I agree it was his best game for a while, though still not great overall.

We saw some of his beastly defensive attributes in the second half and the general hunger and confidence was good to see.

It's probably a dangerous time for you to be posting in this thread right now.

Made a valuable contribution. Still frustrates the hell out of everyone every now and then though.

There was that rubbish volley which any other player would have got the ball down and onto the left foot for a shot (letting the defender just slide past). Not Valencia, of course. Then the ridiculous pullback to Chris fecking Smalling who actually turned out to be nowhere near the box. Both of these when we were chasing and playing end-to-end stuff.

His one-footedness makes him defuse what would be great goalscoring opportunities. I'm not saying he should work on it, doesn't seem the lazy type to me. I guess he just cannot get any better with it, which is a real shame.

Just when I was thinking of voting for you as poster of the year.

I really don't have any hatred for him, I just think he is shit atm, find my older posts on him, I think I have regulary praised him last season. The thing is, he is shit this season, he doesn't deserve to start games by any means.

Now you make sense. FA should punish him by sending him to switzerland to work with kids like FIFA did with Rooney, those kids would learn him thing or two.

So in midst of an injury crisis, you want us to lose another of our attacking options?

What injury crisis? You believe Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck and wayne rooney all injured in last two days? Yea right.

Hmm some very harsh comments on him today.

Granted his first half was wank as feck but he really stood his men when we needed him in the last 20 minutes. Put in 2 very good crosses.
