How reliable is that article on MEN about Griezman deal being one step closer.
"We're at the stage of gathering information from clubs who have a concrete interest,"
"There is an unavoidable €100 million (about £85 million) clause so that restricts the number of candidates. You have United, (Manchester) City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
"United were the first to come and see us and the most concrete in their wishes."
Apparently that's what Griezmann's advisor/agent said. I've seen many papers report this so has to be some truth in it right?
BBC reported it.
Cool, thanks. I can't post media yet
No problem, mate.
I'm still confident he'll come despite what he has been saying lately. I don't really take what players say in media about their future in a club with much seriousness and anything can change anytime.
The good thing is that we're clearly entering the bid for him.
It just feels like a logical transfer for both parties. I'll try to contain myself (for now..) But a resurgent Martial and Rashford up top interchanging with Griezmann is potentially Fed by PogPass
Add Mhki, Mata and hopefully another top CM/DM and we're in business.

They're just as likely to repel

I personally see this as somewhat negative news. Generally, when a player is close to moving/wants to move to us, their agent remains quiet (bar maybe Mino Raiola). It's when they want a new contract/wants to hype up the interest in the player that they namedrop us and say we're interested.
That's true. I guess I'm just taking a negative spin on it.There are no set rules in this regard. Some agents may just be a bit more talkative than others.
That would be a dream but as I said in B.Silva thread we still need another attacking player with Griezmann, not just him.
Mikhi and Mata will be our main number 10 players, rotating between themselves. Rashford should concentrate on the striker either a sub or starter, he can be a backup option on the left wing but that if we have crisis. Griezmann could very well play as a striker ( and I think it'll be his favourite position ) or a RW. We need another RW, too , to give the attack flexibility as we have no one on this side now and are using number 10 players as Mikhi and Mata in it. Even Lingard doesn't seem to be in his best conditions on the right.
Griezmann and Silve and that will be job done for the attack for some years coming.
Jim white is a plumJim white on talk sport said earlier today that United have already made an opening bid of £85 million.
Now thats our woodward, an opening bid which is at the release clauseJim white on talk sport said earlier today that United have already made an opening bid of £85 million.

You don't negotiate with a release clause matching "opening bid".He is a dickhead, but he's also got a lot of contacts in the game.
It wasn't a usual journalists "United are preparing a bid" comment either. It was that we'd actually opened negotiations and made a bid already.

If Atletico and Monaco can beat the majority of Europe with a 2 man midfield, we certainly can too. It's just about discipline and team shape, and that's something Mourinho is really getting us better at.The most interesting thing for me is how we'll organise the midfield next season to complement players like Griezmann if they do come. Imagine we sign Bernardo Silva and Griezmann which is apparently looking likelier by the day. We know we need a new midfielder and centre back so do we stay with a 3 in midfield and play Griezmann as a lone striker? Or sign a midfielder who is strong defensively and play him next to Pogba, in which case what about Herrera? It just raises a lot of questions.
I can't see City getting him, I think Griezmann would prefer Champions League to EuropaI hate to raise the possibility but is there any real risk pep and the bitters could come in and tempt him to play in front of a couple thousand empty seats every other week? I need to prepare myself mentally for that before I can commit full muppet

Why does he do that retarded celebration though?
Ah silly season has begun already it seems.I have heard - and don't snigger, this is true - that Mourinho asked Eric Olhats to make this statement in the media to fire up the current United forward line following Ibra's injury. He wants them fighting for their places with news that Griezmann is coming in.
Oh, and he is DEFINITELY coming, from what I can gather. He's been dreaming of that No.7 shirt for years. And it's his this summer. £85m.

Is this the face that says "I save money"?
