Each of them is on ~900k/wk?
No, Cristiano in on between €20/25M a year(about 41/52 before tax), Bale is on €15M(31 before tax)

Kroos is on €20M before tax, Ramos is on €18M iirc, Benzema on €17M

Do you know how big Real Madrid and Barcas total wage bills are?
I had no idea bale was on £600k a week

Negotiations over an extension have been continuing for several months between Real and Bale’s representative, Jonathan Barnett, with an agreement reached a few weeks ago. It is understood the contract is worth more than £600,000 a week before tax with the buyout clause set at €1bn (£900m). It is believed to be one of the biggest in the history of the sport.

Would have to look it up but i think the first team's wage bill should be the highest and second-highest in the world. Only PSG pays similar money to their first team. Barcelona's is also quite a bit higher than ours

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague told Sky Sports: "The situation is as follows, his people have told Atletico that he's staying next season.

"He still feels he can give more to the club, they've got a new stadium and he can keep growing there.

"Atletico want to give him a new contract with more money and a new buy-out clause of 100m euros.

"Barcelona, Real, Manchester City and Manchester United have all enquired for Griezmann, but he's agreed nothing with anybody.

"Real are trying to go for him in 2018, which will make it difficult for any Premier League club to try and get him."

Real this, a Spanish team that. I swear ballbag would try to push Griezmann to Eibar over a move to premier league. The man is a fecking fraud. Should banned from here.

Edit: doesn't even make sense. Yeah Atletico will keep him for an extra year so Real can come in for him. What a load of bollocks lol

I really hope we get this guy in Summer. Such an excellent player.

P. S Balague is a joke. He doesn't have any reliable sources these days and hasn't for some years now.

Well he reckons if he puts 100 stories out ones got to be true, at least in his head lol

Was excellent tonight. Seemed to be playing in seven different positions at once, even saw him making a couple of tackles deep in his own half.

Got a good look at him tonight for the first time in a while - a brilliant mix of skill, arrogance and workrate. He's got a punchable face, but I could tolerate him at OT.

Ball bag is going to be so disappointed once again.

That's not even a Balague story. That came from one report in France that he's chosen to believe. He even admitted after the derby that it was only his opinion based off of that.
What a total fraud. He's not even pretending he has sources anymore.

It seems that ever since he left AS and Spain he has basically just guessed all of his 'rumours', which mostly never come true. I loved Revista de la Liga but it's no wonder Sky cut it with him as the main man.

Oh has the programme been cancelled? Shame, I used to enjoy watching that.

I didnt watch the game but this seems like a strange comment given that they evidently did stop him, save for a penalty.
Albrightons challenge on Griezmann for the penalty was outside the box too

Yeah, so I read.

So what you have, by the sounds of it, is a virtuoso attacking performance - minus goals. Sounds like he would fit right in.

In all seriousness, I know he's a great player and scores a ton of goals. Just seems a bit unfair to say Leicester had no idea how to stop him, when they did.

Ndidi was basically man marking him in the second half, it was a decent performance but not exactly Griezmann at his best.

even if they could, they would have to move some of their big hitters off the wage bill. i think he would have to earn a lot less than what united would pay him any way. Ronaldo and Bale are on half a mil a week.

Totally agree. But Vidal, Thiago, Renato Sanchez could also have gotten a better pay at United. So I don't think money necessarily would be the biggest factor - he would be the great King of Manchester though, in a well run merchandise. In Real he would probably just be down the latter.

What a player he is though. Would up our chances for the title maybe with 20%. Probably the Best player around right now.

I had before yesterday questioned how Griez could fit into the starting 11. He'd be wasted out wide and wouldn't dislodge Zlat.

I think the tactics yesterday were an indication of how we could lineup next season, with Griez playing the lingard role off Rashers

A step down from Aletico, you're having a laugh?
What? Ofcourse we are... they've made 2 finals in 3 years? When we did that and got battered we were still on about dominating Europe. Right now we're wondering if we are going to beat a 10th place la liga team in the Europa Europa, they're playing in the semi finals of the champions league, of course we are a huge step down right now.

I'd settle for that. How exciting would we be to watch

I know what you are saying, but you have to look at the full picture. If he signs for MUFC his image and marketing potential will hit the roof, in fact experts have even came out and said similar. He can play as the number 7 for Manchester United emulating his hero Beckham and arguably become one of the biggest names in football if all goes well. Then you add in other factors:

- Playing under Jose, one of the best coaches in the world
- Playing at Old Trafford under a fantastic support base (I do like Atletico, but their is no comparison in terms of fan base)
- His brother Theo is a huge United fan so he is making a decision family will be happy about
- Other French players here (Martial and Pogba) can help him settle. Add to the fact most our squad are Spanish speakers to.
- Helping United put together a serious title charge for the first time in years
- Obviously a huge wage increase and signing on bonus

So when you add all those factors above, It is a fantastic move for him.

In sporting achievements, yes they have out done us the last three years.

But, come on, get real. Atletico to United is a monster promotion.

It is a fantastic move but that's not what my issue was, right now we are behind Atletico by a healthy distance, as long as they make it past the semi finals of the UCL next year and stay top 3 in spain, which they probably will, we'll still be a step down footballing wise.

What you've outlined are marketing benefits and personal benefits for Griezmann, none of which I really care about too much. In that sense it makes sense, in a footballing and performance sense, we are behind.

For marketing, wages, historic and popularity it is a huge promotion. For being a football team in its current state we are miles behind. We can be Scousers and bang on about our history but let's not right now, for the last 3-4 years we suck compared to them.

You just look at it from micro level, not macro. When Griezmann signs for us he will look at it as a step up in his career, and rightly so.

I understand that but here he has a chance to be the guy that helped get us out of this slump and re-establish us as a top team. Imo we aren't too far off and with the right signings (and improvements from key youngsters Shaw and Martial) we could be back with a bang.

It's not just about history though. He'd know he's joining a team that is not that far away from competing at the top again and is willing to spend to surround him with quality. It'll take more than 3-4 barren years before we're considered a step down from Atletico.

He's never in a million years going to Madrid. They already have Isco/James who can't get a game because Zidane wants a 4-3-3 and uses Casemiro/Modric/Kross. He's wasted out wide and wouldn't be better in those areas than Bale/Ronaldo anyway.
