We are going to sign him lads.

Assuming Mourinho wants him.

Griezmann is the profile of player that gives Woody woodies.

And in Woody we trust.

We need players like these to help us back to our best again, it's good sign if we can attract such big names in the market while we still trying to be back into C.L it shows every one who we are, but on the other hand we shouldn't be allowing players to wait and see if we play in C.L or not, we are better than that.

At the age of 26, Griezmann probably has another 4 years left at the top or so (attacking players decline after 30). I reckon that he'd want to win that elusive Champions League trophy in the very near future, at least. It's up to him whether he thinks that United can win the CL in the next four years.

How does Griezmann and Zlatan fit in the same team? Should Griezman play on the wing, or behind Zlatan?

I think we've consistently seen that whilst Zlatan is brilliant in the box, he is also quite creative coming from deeper. However, when he drops deep we lack a real goal threat in front of him. Griezman could play behind him, beyond him, wide (swapping with Miki)... We could be really quite fluid in attack.

It's only a red flag if he doesn't look at the context though, and really even if we do scrape in he must know that this team isn't going to suddenly be a CL contender next season, so any player looking at joining United has to surely be looking long term.

My take is that Spurs and Liverpool might well beat us to top 4 this year, but if you are a player looking to win a PL title and be a serious contender in the CL, we are the better bet IMO over the long haul. I can only see CL as a deciding factor in not joining United if a player is going to Barca, Bayern, Real, juve or indeed staying at Atleti.

There is a difference between caring about playing in the CL and caring about actually being a contender for domestic and European titles, and you have to look beyond a singular season to gauge that.

How many 'elite' level players are prepared to wait 'for the long haul' until a team is capable of challenging for titles/champions leagues, etc? That's your problem. These guys have a very short career at the very top level.

We are a couple players short of having a team that will challenge on every front.

We will get those players.

Watch.

United have more to offer aside from that though.

Sadly Spurs have neither.

I can well imagine weeks of stories about us chasing him, and then out of the blue one day Bayern sign him with no fuss.

I know that di Marzio's opinion is valued, but Bayern would not meet his release clause and have Müller for Griezmann's position.

If he wants to move this summer, why did he sign a new contract recently? Just doesn't make sense to me and I think he'll stay in the summer

Doesn't the article say "front row"? Or at least that's what GFFN posted. Front row is an odd term, I mean, I'd like to think united are front row too.

I've heard rumour that muller hasn't been great this year and Bayern are open to selling him. So their could be a position for Griezmann.
I think he'll be Joses top target. He works hard defensively and scores goals. Sure if he was 6ft or more that would probably suit Jose better but beggars can't be choosers.

Means they're among the most interested parties

Can imagine Griezman to Bayern, Lewandoski to Real, Lacazette to Atletico, if Di Marzio is correct.

I remember the last time Bayern were interested in a player we were. It was a no-contest (Thiago).

I still resent Guardiola and Bayern to this day for that.

Onto the Mbappe thread!

Didn't Moyes have worries about Thiago being able to play in the PL so couldnt make his mind up about signing him or something like that

Bayern is not selling Müller. He is as Bavarian as they come and the face of the club post Lahm, Ribery and Robben.
He also leads the league in assists, while not scoring the usual amount of goals. He had a crap 2016, but the arrow is pointing up.

Really not fussed if he doesn't come here.

Griezmann is great but if we're to spend £80m on him, I believe we can find much better suited players to our team than him.

We need a centre forward and a wide playmaker/forward from the right way more than a support striker.

Just no for me. Sooner get the lad from Everton who's proven goal scorer in the prem for a number of years now. Don't want another 80m lottery at the club. Bayern are welcome to him....

Good thing we let Bayern get Thiago and signed Fellaini who was proven in the prem all those years ago too, then.

Don't think it will happen for Bayern. They need to replace Ribery and Robben; with that in mind why buy Griezmann when Sanchez is on the market, and at £30 odd million cheaper? I can't see them buying both.

If he rather go to Bayern then thats fine. Not going to fuss over players who'd rather be elsewhere.

Let Bayern????? I'm pretty sure Thiago along with his relationship with Pep might have had something to do with it quote re. His transfer to Bayern.....

"It's not just about how you feel, or your self-confidence, but how other people feel about you. Pep trusted me and I felt that truth. I learnt a lot from him."

It'was well documented that we stalled on the transfer due to not being completely convinced. Wasn't it confirmed Giggs came out and said he didn't think Thiago was a "United player" or some rubbish.

We can't keep letting these players go to our rivals and keep signing the leftovers, Griezmann is far superior to Lukaku, it's not even close.
