Antoine Griezmann

Do we really need Griezmann when we've got Mhkitaryan and Mata who are probably both as good as Griezmann and play in the same positions, there's also the fact that Griezmann coming in means less time for Rashford and Martial and us being overloaded up top.

Just say for arguments sake that Rooney stays next season then we'd have Zlatan, Rashford, Martial, Mhkitaryan, Mata, Rooney and Lingard vying for 3 or 4 spots depending on formation so Griezmann isn't a priority signing.

Mata does very much the same things Griezmann does but to much less effect, he's not as good at all. Mkhitaryan is a very good player but he's not giving us what we most need right now which is a reliable goalscorer besides Zlatan.

He doesn't play the same position as Rashford and Martial and Zlatan and Rooney won't be here beyond the next season at most. Lingard should have absolutely no relevance in this discussion.

People were having the same sort of doubts in the pogba thread. It's just mental to think some fans don't want to sign a good player?

If city were going to sign him everybody would be crying, doesn't matter they've got Gabriel or aguero too. If a great player is available you sign him. We are only 1 injury away from having much less better option.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it Delaney who reported last summer before we signed Pogba that us not being in the UCL could scupper the Pogba deal?

I think you have to look beyond just the assets that Griezmann himself brings, but also to the message it sends to the rest of the squad, and the rest of the market. When you bring players like that in, it's the place to be, you're bringing in the best players and you're serious about winning. It lifts existing squad, forces them to perform better to keep their places, and makes you more attractive to other players as well.

Yeah I think I remembering saying that while most creditable journalists where reporting he will sign regardless. He is a toilet that won't flush

You kid yourself if you think £100m would get those players. Most of them aren't for sale under any circumstances.
With the exception of Kroos, all of those players can be bought if United wanted to.

Cringy celebration. Also who's the player who laid it off to him, he did well there
I love his celebration, it must piss the opposition off no end, almost as trolling as the dab

I like his celebration, it is his trademark. Woody probably told him a move is only on the cards if he keeps doing it. Very good matketing that

Yeah at first I wanted to smack him but though about how much it would infuriate pool and city when he scores against them if he were to join us.

I would join just to piss off all around me
Imagine him standing there infront of the KOP doing his celebration, Lingard and Pogba either side dabbing. Holy shit I don't think they could hold them back.

Everytime I see his celebration I remember his hilarious Puma commercial that uses it. Watch it if you haven't done so already.

Absolutely love it

Serious muppet signing this guy. Watch La Liga on a weekly bases for years and while he hasn't got many goals this season he scores a hell of alot for a very defensive minded team.

We create loads of chances and he would help create more and also would finish of alot of chances.

One of my favourite players in the game today

MEN:

The 25-year-old became Atletico Madrid's top Champions League goalscorer after scoring in Los Colchoneros’ 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

The France star's 13th goal in Europe's premier competition broke a club record that had stood for more than 40 years.

And, speaking after the game, Griezmann appeared to distance himself from speculation linking him with a move away from the Vicente Calderon.

"I’m proud to become part of Atletico’s history with my goal and hopefully I can carry on making history here," he said.

That's footballer response 101, did they expect him to say "Hell yeah I'm off to Man United for that sweet 300k a week, I'm outta Madrid like I stole something hoss!"

I used to think his celebration was stupid but it's grown onto me. Full marks for originality.

It's from Drake's Hotline Bling video
When did that come out? The film I'm talking about came out in 2004

Watched the Leverkusen Atletico game and he linked up brilliantly with Gamiero (who was excellent) and held the ball up well.

His main strength though seems to be his movement, which is something we're missing. Only Mata really has great movement for us right now.
