......Ibrahimović---Griezmann
Martial---Pogba---Herrera---Mkhitaryan

This is...
FIFA wise its uber-strong but does it also work in real life

Teams would cut through that midfield sadly.

would they though? it looked pretty solid last game

Against Watford, at home.

Going to Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Spurs with Pogba and Herrera in a two, I don't like it. Pogba would have to really step up his defensive game for that to work.

For most of our games it would work a charm though!

Looks dreamy on paper but way too offensive to work in real life. You would need to sacrifice one of them for a DM.

He's better than anyone of you player , He gave bigger cl performances in one season that Mkhitarian , Ibra etc have failed to give in most of his career. His finishing is amoung the best, build up play and big match performances are better than anyone in your squad. He would score 50 goals a season if he played in a team that gave him on platter like Madrid does to Cr7. In Euro he took less shot but ouscored everyone. Anyway, Keep Mkhitarian and leave Griezmann to us:D we'll probably make another deep run in cl while Mkhitarian can help you win Europa league like he did with Dortumund :D

At which position do you see him playing for us next season? Can he lead the line, or is behind Ibra the best solution?

ROFL. Ok. He's good, but let's not go crazy.

And I'd bet a paycheck he doesn't come to England. Pogba had history with the organization.

Antoine Griezmann: “I have a lot of doubts about moving to England.”

Speaking in an exclusive interview with RMC, Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann discussed his future, casting doubt on a potential move to the Premier League.

“With Real Sociedad, I felt that I needed to leave. For the moment, I do not know where that desire came from. Who knows how the season will finish. If it finishes badly, maybe I will ask myself the question. For the moment, it is not relevant… Aside from that, I am asking myself where I could go. In Spain, there is Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barcelona have the three up top. Real Madrid, that is impossible because of the club I am at. I think that between them, there is a pact. Germany, the league does not attract me much. France, not for the moment. And England, I have a lot of doubts about my private life. Everything like rain, bad weather… I need to feel happy outside.”

“I like the teams who bring intensity like in England. Yes, I watch the English league. The referees let the game flow, the stadiums are always full. But if I have to choose one league, it is the Spanish league, because it corresponds the best with my game.”

To the ?? thread!

well we said we didn't fancy you first you cnut

you and Pogba will get in each others way, or something

Maybe Simeone will leave at end of the season, if he does that could push Griezmann out. But i do get his point, he doesnt need to leave,he is in a great city in a very good team fighting for trophies. I think it will be tougher to prize him away from athletico and make his mind about England. I hope we are not going after impossible deals like this unless the players gives his willingness to move.
I would be more than happy with Silva from monaco who i think has potential to be even better than Griezmann and suits us more.

think he is just cooling the speculation, just reminding everyone, especially United fans that it isn't a done deal to United. still think it will happen

Still think it'll happen, still not 100% convinced he's the answer.

Atletico will never be on par with Barcelona and Real Madrid, there are no titles waiting for them in the forseeable future barring an odd copa del rey or europa league. Unless something huge happens like a billionaire take-over they'll always only be upstarts.
I seriously doubt wether Silva will ever be what people expect of him, and I don't understand how he'd suit us better than Griezmann at all, not now and certainly not in a traditional sense.

The bad weather, the rain, the humidity, the lack of sunshine,... So basically it's the weather you're worried about Anton?

Jose was mentioning a few days ago that he won't go after unrealistic signings. Was he referring to Griezmann? These comments by Griezmann are certainly strange.

Just get him a place with lots of lights inside. It'll make up for the lack of sunshine.

If these quotes are real then he does not fit the mental profile of the type of player we need. We need hunger and drive - besides the talent.

What  Hunger and drive has nothing to do with preference. I can guarantee you just about every player in our squad would prefer the weather in sunny Spain, has nothing to do with their determination though.

I mean more of a warrior type of mentality. Someone who thinks less about how cozy the city he lives in is and more about creating history with the club. A big ask, sure. The attitude of Tony and Evra is probably the ideal. Of course weather is better elsewhere, cuisine etc. etc. It's not about that. He can enjoy that in a few years once his days of being an elite footballer are over. I'd be very hesitant to sign someone who has already got reservations about joining because it's not nice enough.

I think he is stalling, said it bit earlier that he's just trying to cool speculation, still think the deal will go through

Whatever, this one is as good as done.
Good one Griezmann for making it interesting tho.

They wont be on par with history but they are cin their current period very close to them on the field. He has won the league and played in champions league finals for them all after fergie retired and we have declined and might not play in Champions league for another year.
Silva is very good prospect, but you have to remember when Griezmann was bought buy athletico he was too a good prospect who lost his way in first year. You can never be sure but silva has performed well over the past year at monaco and he gives us what we lack on the right wing. he has skill, he has pace, he is very elegant and with potential of being very very productive.

Nope.

Agent: "Talk shit about England in your next interview, the English will panic and throw more money at us.."

Footballers are real human beings with preferences. When I chosoe a work place, I look at the location as well. The only time when their attitude matters is on the pitch.

Currently yes, they are quite close to Barcelona who are having a very poor season by their standards but Real are likely going to be at least ten points clear of them in the table soon and they've got a struggle on their hands to overtake Sevilla for the CL spot. Simeone is looking like he might leave aswell in a not very distant future which might very well mark the end of this period where they've been able to compete with the big boys.
Griezmann struggled for a bit as he'd been played exclusively as a winger for Sociedad and Simeone right away started molding him into the central role that he's seen in today. Still he managed to score 25 goals for them that season.
I doubt Silva will ever be a great wing player at a big club because of his productivity in terms of goals and assists. Even in this Monaco team who are scoring for fun this year, his productivity has not improved significantly in that sense compared to earlier seasons. And he's not a kid anymore. The things you say he'll bring to our RW, what will he give us that Mkhi doesn't already give us there?

Doubts about private life is just Ammo for RAWK to burgle his house like they did ADM's.

Very interesting comments by Griezmann. Sounds like it's nailed on he's going to England and he's just playing it down.

Realistically only Barca attract him, but they've got 3 up front he says. Can see the deal going ahead, just need Pogba to send him some selfies on a nice hot summers day with a '99 flake sitting on a canal barge

Done dealio and the club selling to United for huge money are playing the usual game of playing the transfer down so they don't get extra tax lumped on to his replacement's fee.

Griezman's interview tells me 2 thing:

"Who knows how the season will finish. If it finishes badly, maybe I will ask myself the question. For the moment, it is not relevant."

1) The above quote isn't the profile of player we should be going for. Someone who flirts with fleeing after a bad season.

"Barcelona have the three [Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez] up top. Real Madrid, that is impossible because of the club I am at. I think that between them, there is a pact [not to conduct transfers between the clubs"

"And England, I have a lot of doubts about my private life. Everything like rain, bad weather… I need to feel happy outside."

2) He clearly isn't keen on English life & going from above, I can genuinely see him sticking it out at Atletico for another year and then moving to Barcelona as a long term replacement for Suarez (who will be 31 at the time).
