I don't want any fancy highlight reels, I want a Manchester United player to stick the ball in the net.
As a team, United are creating enough chances, but we severely lack clinical finishers.
25 goals but a lot of problems too. Not an 80m player...

You feel that confident even with Simeone staying for next season? I think it's very possible Greizmann stays and leaves 2018.
There are some of his qualities that can be debated but his finishing ability is not one of them. His goal scoring is the reason why Atletico's system works at all, as they dont create as much going forwsrd.

I could see Griez staying 1 more season then leaving in 2018 when Simeone likely leaves.
Never thought we were getting him and it seems less and less likely as we near the transfer window.
Something about him just doesn't scream United I don't feel he wants to come and that's the main reason. Going by what he has said in the past that location and weather will be a big factor of he does move to the premiership Chelsea would be the most likely choice.
Saying that if he does move I would guess someone like PSG would be his first choice

What makes you think he doesn't want to come? I mean he's clearly going to leave Atletico eventually, do you want him to just trash talk his team and teammates while there like many Madrid/Barca wanna-be players do?
He has scored lots of goals all through his career, at different clubs and playing left wing and second striker.
If people are expecting one of the worlds best players though they are going to be disappointed.
He is actually a bit like Mata, not in the way he plays but in the way he pops up and takes chances very well. He moves a bit more like lingard though, lingard brilliant at getting into positions that you wish mata would be in...

Not worth it for that price. We're already a laughing stock for the money we spend each season.
Only on caf will people rag on greizzmann when fans of teams like Real Madrid are even hungry in Spain to sign him.
Worst arguement is he won't fit mous style, can easily be adapted and he's the majority of atletico attacking threat for last few years and their a team that play defensive

I am still pretty sure that Griezmann is our main target this summer. In fact, the way that Lingard plays now will most like be how Griezmann will play - nominally on the flanks as per the line-up, but once the game starts, he will be drifting across the forward line and into the box to try to cause the most damage to the opposition as possible. He can either start in the no.10 position in a 4231, or if we play 433, he will play on the right, but always moving infield to allow Valencia and Herrera space to whip in crosses from the right.
I don't think Mourinho will play him as a no.9, and thus, if Jose feels that he cannot wait for Zlatan or that Rashford needs more time to develop, then he will get another centre forward in the mould of Belotti or Lukaku or even Dzeko to complement Griezmann. Someone who can hold up the ball, aerially strong and can score goals in the box. As for the James rumours, it is only a pre-agreement according to the radio, and I think that he is a backup option in case we really fail to land Griezmann.

They get told to say stuff like that to drum up interest and the whole 'will he, won't he'. More interest = more exposure for the brand. That's what I'm going to tell myself.
With pogba he never said something like this. I think with simeone staying and them signing lacazette, I think he will stay for one more season.

Think we should fonsider giving up on my Griezmann. Say what you want about Rodriguez,mbut he wants to leave a prove himself. Griezmann doesn't seem like he wants to come imo. James Rodriguez might be good, but it's Griezmann who might end up like Di Maria.
This one is dead in the water. Seems like Simeone and Griezmann will stay for at least another season and expetience the new stadium. They wont be short of suitors in a year or two anyway.

They have a good squad and are moving to a new 68k capacity stadium after the summer. They have money to stay where they are, the only problem is they will never be able to fully compete with Real and Barca. It needs to be another special season for them to win the league so the question is if a player like Griezmann can accept that.
They will stay competitive in champions league. Atletico is here to stay.

I agree, I was one of very few that appreciates the info at the time.
I thought he was nailed on to join us, but every quote from him recently strongly suggests he is staying to the point where, as you mentioned, he would look silly if he left to join us.
