Claims he won't play for Arse because they didn't keep their word last time he negotiated with them in 2013.

He said he's happy whilst being on air at SER radio. Just your standard comments. I'm happy now etc. it's still non commital so I think this will still happen if we get Champions League.

I can't get my head round how anyone thinks if we make a serious push for him, he would ever say no.

He will fecking double, if not treble, his earnings for feck sake!
Footballing reasons? Atletico are top 5 in Europe right now.

Im gonna stick my oar in and say the athletico transfer ban and subsequent inability to replace him, simeone staying and mourinhos comments about players choosing clubs for the weather may be pointing towards this one falling by the roadside. Theres a lot of talk about bernardo and james rodriguez. Both of them wouldnt be mucb more than greizmans fee.

Means feck all.

He is less likely to win any trophies there than he is at Mourinho's United next season.

He could become a household name at United in the most watched and most prestigious sporting league on the planet.

I could go on but none of that matters like the financial package does.

IF we are interested, this WILL happen.

There is no way that we make a proper push for him and don't get him IMO.

This is not the penny pinching cheap skate United of Gill/Fergie that was strugglibg to keep up with the debt.

Absolutely. Also think this target was dropped once Ibra got injured. Maybe he was seen as a good partner to Ibra, but now we have to spread the transfer budget to a striker as well the budget for Griezmann gets reduced. Really think the Ibra injury has screwed up our plans.

Well if he wants to stay thats fine. I hope we come out now and put the story to bed. Couldn't be assed listening to this shit all summer.

Well he can feck off then, didn't want anyway. Was shite against Real. Nothing player.

amiright? :nervous:

If he wants to stay that's fine. We move on and I hope we don't go back for him later.

I think he plays for United next season
EDIT: As long as we make the UCL

Griezmoff

Mbappon

Griezmoth sounds like something Godzilla would battle over the streets of tokyo

Can us not signing him turn into..uh.. blessing ?

I mean we'll probably use the 89m we were planning to pay for him on getting 2 good players to enforce the squad rather than only one ?

Was never sold on him in the first place.

Least inspiring muppet signing ever. He can bask in the sunshine back in Spain for all I care.

Skybet still pays only 1/2 for Griezmann to United. And 6/4 for Griezmann to stay in Atletico. And actually United's odd just dropped while ago. I don't think this is off yet.

Never really liked him anyway. What sort of a name is Antoine? Sounds French. Stupid.

People overrate atletico they aren't a top 5 team in Europe, they've been rubbish this season and got a lucky path to the semis.

Its Le equipe FFS, its as good as the Sun in england, i know most comments are tongue in cheek but ponly believe anything that comes out from Canal + and Rmc. Res all of it is utter nonsense.

Who's in the top 5
My top 5, in no particular order, is:

Atletico
Juventus
Bayern
Real Madrid
Barcelona

No team in that group has been put out of the Champions League in the past 3 seasons by any team outside of that group.

I still can't get my head around where he will play in a 4-2-3-1, or more to the point who will he play with ? If he does come then I think it means us playing either 4-3-3 or a 'trendy' 3-5-2 as one of the forwards, can't see him being a Jose type lone striker in our current set up, in addition Pogba is not suited in a 4-2-3-1 either, so wether we get Griezman or not I can see a change of formation.......hopefully with both Griezman and Pogba

Using the betting market to predict transfers is the most idiotic thing ever

You know how that works, don't you?

I dont see it happening, said already the same a few days ago. Simeone probably staying and the new stadium and him loving the Spanish life with the family are good arguments. Hope we dont chase him all summer long, we need to move on to other targets.

I don't really understand why this would take all summer. If this buy out clause is real I assume you'd just pay it. And if Griezmann actually wants to come you should be able to reach an agreements when it comes to wages.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if this takes all summer it would only be because he doesn't have United as a first choice option imo.

He would play in the no.10 position or on the right in a 4-2-3-1. Why do you feel he wouldn't fit into a 4-2-3-1 and what position does he easily fit into in a 4-3-3 that he can't in a 4-2-3-1?

Playing just off of a centre forward (no.10, second striker, centre attacking midfielder - however you choose to describe it) is his best position and where he has established himself as a top class player. He has played from the right for France and used to get moved to that position at Atletico whenever they would switch to a three man midfield. Playing from there, he is less effective as it removes some of his freedom to roam around and find space but he is still a top player. He has played in these two positions consistently for years so I think it's quite clear where he would play for us in a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3.

Griezmann is obviously a brilliant player, but we shouldn't chase him at any cost. We will have to activate his release clause and give him a Zlatan-ish contract, and I would rather see us spending the same amount of money on two players. For instance James Rodriguez and one of Lacazette/Belotti. Real would probably sell James for 40 million pounds to cut their loss on him, and Torino can't afford to turn down an offer around 40-50 million for Belotti given the economy of Italian football (the rumors of him being sold for 100 million are crazy).
