I sincerely hope he goes to Barca. He won't solve a single one of our issues, and that for a hefty lump of money.
Indeed. A world class attacking player who scores goals and creates chances wouldn't solve a single issue for a team that struggles to score goals and create chances.

He isn't a RW and he isn't a creative #10 who create chances or has penetrative passing in the last third. Those two things are what we need.

Bayern's ceo says they are considering a move for Griez. Heyneckes recently said Bayern should be paying top dollar for the world's best players.

I'm off the train and hopping onto the Dybala express. If Zlatan leaves in the summer then Dybala should be the number 1 target.

Yeah, I'm unconvinced that he'll solve any of our problems.

That, and I'm still scorned, so I (still) don't think we should go back in for him.

I think it's a very unrealistic transfer. The guy has five years left on his contract, and in todays market I doubt he'd be available for anything but Neymar money. It's not going to happen. Griezmann is at least attainable.

Depends if the player himself wants to move and Raiola starts agitating for a transfer.

I can't Dybala leaving just yet. We shouldn't let Griezmann's poor season put us off, I still think the failed transfer is still playing on his mind

Raiola isn't his agent, he is just stating the obvious about Dybala moving from Juventus in the near future, like we all know he will.

He'll probably move to RM to replace Bale\Ronaldo.

We should push for Pulisic instead of Griezmann. Younger and more suited to our needs.

Imagine if he comes here for a mind boggling sum, goes months without scoring, and tops it off by being subbed in the 70th minute at home against City for being shit.

That's exactly what's happening for him right now at Atletico. Hasn't scored since September 27th, and was just subbed 20 minutes before full time at home against Real Madrid. Didn't realise he'd had that poor of a season so far. It'd be absolute mayhem on here.

He's not joining PSG. We don't need him and he stated he didn't want to play for Paris before.

I reckon it's between Barca and MU.

He recently said that it would be a dream come true to play with Mbappe and Neymar or something.

Hope he goes to Barca.

I'm not saying he is a poor player but we could do with a creative 10 instead. It's not goal scorers we lack imo.

Problem is, we don't have a lot of options for world class 10's out there. I still think Griezmann can regain his form, just needs a new challenge and I think we would be the perfect step up for him.

That's a problem.

He could also come here and continue to stink the place up with a good perfomance here and there but largely fail to take us up a level. We have seen plenty of that before in the past. His lack of enthusiasm for United puts me off too. Especially if things were to go south for him.

I've been off the Griezmann train for a while now. And have my truly never been entirely desperate for him tbh.

He didn't. It was a game where he had to answer yes or no, the first question was, an attack Mbappé-Neymar-Griezmann is that dream worthy? The following question, if you were to sign in Ligue 1 would it be for Marseille? He answered yes to both.

He just looks so poor and there's no way he'd even get in the PSG starting line up.

Ah, cheers for clearing that up. I don't think PSG would be interested if he doesn't improve his form anyway. He has been phenomenal these past few seasons and is really struggling this season, don't think we'll be interested at this current rate either.

We've never been able to accommodate a #10 in our recent history. Anderson, Kagawa, Mkhi, Mata are all #10s who have all tried and struggled to put in the kind of displays that made them world class #10s at their previous clubs. Rooney had limited success. Maybe we're just better playing a system without a #10, and in that case, neither Griezmann or Özil appear to fit the bill (unless Jose can make it work). We're traditionally a team that creates chances through our wing play rather than through the #10

It could go either way really. I'm not overly keen on him and I would rather we get Dybala but I can't see that happening. I'm sure Jose will get it right, but I would be very excited if we do sign Griezmann, I think he will excel at OT.

Atlético don't attack. Simeone always just want to score first and then put men behind the ball. They struggle if they have to keep more of the ball.

This is the part people miss I think. Atleti make us look like the most attacking team on the planet in comparison and he has looked absolutely phenomenal for them in that system. His form this season really is a worry though.

Sums up my thoughts on him.

I think he could be decent but just can't see him turning out consistent world class perfomances here like we need from a proper talisman.

And before anyone mentions it, he's better than what we have currently. But that says more about our current options like Micky.

It's all in Juves hands, Dybala can push all he wants. There's no way he's leaving for anything less than 1,5 billion and we'd be absolute fools to pay it. There might be an opportunity down the line, but right now we need to accept that this ship has long sailed.

Looks like he's lost that hunger he once had. Sure it's just a temporary thing but I'm not sure he's the right guy for us

Watched the first half and really didn't impress me at all.

Struggling to remember the last time I watched Atletico and he was playing well, looks like ages now. He just wants to leave and that's clear. If it's not just that and that's his usual performance it'll be a problem for anyone who buys him.

Quite sad that they would whistle him. He would have left it it wasn’t for their transfer ban, few players would show such loyalty in this day and age.

Another player who was a fool not to leave and become even better player. We should stay sway from him. I would even prefer ozil to him at this point. He has been bang average for more than a year.

Dybala would be my first choice, if not I am not too sure who should we go for? Any names!

shouldn't have passed up the opportunity to join us. its peak for him now. he'll be alright though

I really wanted him in the summer even though I’m not really sure how we’d get the best out of him which is still how I feel now

If I’m being honest he would be a much better fit for Barcelona (replacing Suarez as the number 9) or Bayern playing off Lewandowski

Imo, staying simply because of a transfer ban was pretty stupid.

Fekir is outstanding at 10 and can play as a support striker or we could play a three man midfield with Jorginho or Savic. All three players are outstanding talents and I would love us to buy two of them and clear out Mata, Miki, Lingard, Carrick, Fellaini and Herrera. They would also be much cheaper than marquee players like Dybala and Griezmann. If we are after a RW then Leon Bailey is the guy to go for.

I thought Benzema was whistled at, not Griezmann. They both got substituted the same minute

If he could play rw like some suggested early on there's definitely a position there for a potentially world class player. But can he be world class there?

Don't want him. He is a good player no doubt but he is not what we really need at the moment.

Sign Ozil in January or get him for free in the summer. Spend the money on a RW, LB, RB and CM. We have a limited budget after all.

Not only that, he made the step of staying "for the club" after the transfer ban, and after years working his ass off in defense like no other star has made in the last decade, Simeone has shown in the last months that he won't have any regret in throwing Griezmann to the lions if he feels like it.

It's not only Antoine wo has regressed in that team, Gameiro has looked awful after a great year in Sevilla, Koke and Saul have become stagnant, they showed potential for more of what they're displaying lately, I'd even say that Carrasco hasn't really improved in the last 12 months there. Simeone has his "old guard" of warriors and he keeps playing them because they'll go to the end for him. Godin, Gabi, Juanfran, even Savic at this point with the new "additions" of Thomas and Correa, but young players (especially attacking ones) seem to get burned with the way he makes the team play.
