Did anyone even get 25-30 goals in PL last season? He doesnt have to score 25-30 goals, if his all round game contributes to the whole attack performing better collectively it's enough.

Posted stat few days back, IIRC only 6 players scored more than 20 league goals in last 5 seasons without taking penalties.

Kane, Aguero, Salah, Mane, Costa, Lukaku.

If Martial reaches that mark then brilliant. Like you said most important part is how much he helps in improving the overall attack

Both are right. Thats why I said that the most important is performing good football and winning. But having a striker that can produce 20-25 goals gives you great chance getting in or near the top 3.

He needs to control the ball a lot better. He is losing it too easily.

Man Utd 1:2 Crystal Palace
Pray that injury isn’t anything long term. We are the definition of fecked if it is.

Should have had a pen for his brilliant touch past the defender who dragged him down. Flicked the ball under pressure of a defender in his back onto mctominay's path for the pen (similarly to when he flicked it onto pogba for his pen last week). Helped creating the shooting chance and got the assist for James' goal.

Involved in most of the danger, pens and goals of the three games we've had this season.

Played well all things considered. We were always going to be in the shit if one of him or Rashford got injured.

Don’t forget the blatant red card from Cahill when he was put clean through on goal.

Could have gotten Cahill sent off too

Average game for Martial, but I don't think he or Rashford gets any help from our midfielders, wingers or full backs. Our entire attack rests on four guys.

Had a very good game for the most part, some overplaying. They should've had a red on him and a pen, VAR and ref were beyond dumb with those. We're a bit fecked if he's injured long term.

I thought he was good. Should have had a penalty, also assisted James for the goal. No service to him though.

In the condition of this team, he was the biggest positive contributor in offense. It's hard to look good when the team is playing that way, but he did it. His performance should have had a lot more impact if not for horrible officiating. I hope he's not out for too long.

Yep. He got starved badly this game, but he still managed to create chances on his end

If both him and Shaw have pulled muscles you have to question the pre season...

Of course we are running more but is it actually sustainable? The same happened last season.

He played the entire added time injured because we finished all the subs. Hopefully it doesn't aggravate his injury. We'll be totally fecked with our lack of options.

I think we will survive if Rashford was injured but not Martial. He is crucial to us doing anything upfront. We have to pin our hopes on Martial and Pogba staying fit and healthy.

Did he pull his hamstring ?
I hope not. We're already bare thin in attack and we should be looking to replace Lingard from the starting line up with one of the kid. Take Martial out and Lingard still finds himself starting again.

What does survive mean? We'd still be shit.

We're feked if it's a long-term injury, he's making something out of nothing and is our best attacker by far.

Robbed by the horrendous refereeing today, yet still made something happen even without any decent service.

He's been phenomenal so of course he gets injured. We are completely screwed if he's out for a while. He's the only physical presence we have.

James has done more in a couple of games than Martial has shown his entire time here.

Not sure how anyone can say he didn't have a good game, he makes a show of Rashford in the composure department. Could have easily had 2 goals(which should have been a red and a pen).

Relax, I meant he has done more overexuberant celebrating in a couple of games than Martial has his entire time here.
then you need to be a lot more clear with your post, because there is literally zero context in there to convey that point

Did fine.

Should have won a penalty.

But we need to create more for him and Rashford

Thought he was fine, nothing special but good game. Deserved a penalty there, what a moronic decision that was, that was a great control from Martial.

My MOTM today. Tony 9 is solid, just needs better support.

Feeding off of very little but he is probably the most influential player we have. That turn for the clear penalty that VAR checked and said wasn’t was great but the touch under pressure when Pogba fires a brilliant pass at him. That was class. Killed it dead.
