Its days like this where I wonder why on earth we flushed 80m down on Lukaku.
Big. Mourinho.

If he put in the same effort and desire Ashley Young puts in week in week out he'd be world class nqat
Well their teams are better drilled and coached to find them, leave Hazard or Salah, do our midfield and defence play like City or Liverpool or Chelsea do? How are Martial or Mata or Rashford going to create space when our passing is so slow and our attackers are always facing a parked bus? Those players create their opportunities with great movement. The attacking players are part of the poor play.
Might be worth giving him a run down the middle if Lukaku doesn't improve.
LOL. This.If he was as shit as Ashley Young he'd have to put that effort in week in and week out just to stay in the premier league. Now get on your bike.
Well done Jose for starting him
You got lucky today. Martial decided to turn up
Our new Nani
Talented but terribly inconsistent
Like Nani?

The attacking players need to be better at finding space and keeping the ball. Mata was able to get on the ball and keep it all day. Rashford, Lukaku and Martial weren’t. I don’t want to get into a back and forth about this but attacking players can’t be absolved when they don’t play well if they’re going to get all the credit when they do well.Well their teams are better drilled and coached to find them, leave Hazard or Salah, do our midfield and defence play like City or Liverpool or Chelsea do? Two superb finishes that I don’t think many in our team are capable of. He was really poor outside of it but you can’t complain when he scores big goals like that.
Was good to see.
Which is why I’m not nitpicking. He’s more than done his job today with two great goals. I’m not asking for every touch to make a highlight reel. The goals make it a very good game. Was he particularly good outside those moments? Not really but at the end of the game the goals are obviously much more important. You don't expect every touch to be a youtube highlight reel. That's how 90 minute games ago, there's ebbs and flows. Not to mention he was matched against their best defender in Azpilicueta with Willian adding support. Its hard to nitpick on a 2 goal performance that saved our hides.
he deserved to be criticised 100% When there is a player who massively underperforms, doesn't give his everything, people have all the rights to have their say
Indeed. They know absolutely nothing. Don't know how to spot true talent.Appropriate time to say those who have repeatedly critisized him know feck all about football.
Martial FC, we eating good tonight
You’re like Jose. Always making it about you.As always I recognize the talents while arrogant posters are trying to tell me in detail how useless he is. Lawlz.
A disgrace how the manager has wasted a year of his career and thereby robbed our club of some excitement and better results.
I know my football.
Even the top players in other clubs would find it difficult to hold the ball against three players, the other teams' attackers get space and time to do their thing because their midfield and defence are extremely good at transitioning the ball quickly with incisive passing. The attacking players need to be better at finding space and keeping the ball. You want to make this a Mourinho thing and it’s boring as hell. It’s a player performance thread. Martial scored two great goals so his all round performance can be excused. It doesn’t change how poorly he played before the first goal but an attacker who scores twice has more than done his job regardless.
No doubt he should be in starting 11 and be trusted even after a bad game. The only question is should we try him as a striker more often.
I get enough arrogant crap whenever I make a prediction so I will certainly cash in when I am once again right. You’re like Jose. Always making it about you.

Wow you recognised the talent of a player almost universally recognised as one of world football's biggest talents. As always I recognize the talents while arrogant posters are trying to tell me in detail how useless he is. Lawlz.

Not on here spanner. Not on here. Makes the caf a pretty unintelligent place if you put it like that.Wow you recognised the talent of a player almost universally recognised as one of world football's biggest talents.
You absolute fecking prophet.
What did your coaching reference relate to then? Plenty of other threads to bore people in with that stuff.Even the top players in other clubs would find it difficult to hold the ball against three players, the other teams' attackers get space and time to do their thing because their midfield and defence are extremely good at transitioning the ball quickly with incisive passing.
And I did not even mention Mourinho.
Agree. I like Lukaku but he's hindered the development of two players with much higher ceilings. Its days like this where I wonder why on earth we flushed 80m down on Lukaku.
