So professional, model player.
Cool posture.

He's clearly making a statement there to Ole, like a self-entitled brat, for being dropped and put on the bench.

Any excuse that sounds like this yet?
"He's just stretching his foot, prince Martial needed 5+ minutes to stretch one leg, then another 5+ for another."

Yet he was dropped numerous times by Jose - sometimes unfairly - and so perhaps what you see is not what it seems so surely he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

It has been reported he had a back issue which all knew about before the game. He was sent to warm up in the first half but maybe, just maybe reported back that he felt it and so they decided not to risk it.

So not his fault then and someone else is to blame?

This stuff was coming out, but no one wanted to believe Mourinho and he was used to shield players. Now he's gone and there's nowhere to hide.

If ole is trying to build a counter attacking side with direct football which can create and keep the ball at times though doesn't necessarily involve total footballing principles in the style of play I am afraid Martial will never be a player who will stand out at united and make this team tick.

I can see him do well in a possession based team with creativity and cohesion but not in a team where movements and workrate are important factors in attacking build up. He is not a good direct player as well and certainly not a winger who will provide assists to strikers and create for them to tap in on the plate.

If ole tries everything what Fergie used to do with these set of players I am afraid it won't work out.. You have to incorporate a style like Zidane's Madrid under him and be creative and cohesive as a team which can create in front of packed defenses than being reliant on counter attacks. Next season will certainly tell what we wanna do as a team, but don't expect a sudden change in attitude and work rate and movement of martial if we remain a counter attacking bunch focussing on direct quick football.

Just 2 off the top of my head. I thought his Fulham goal and the penalty he won against West Ham were pretty direct.

I actually think he is better when we move the ball quicker and earlier. It seems to me that when it is slow and ponderous and he has too much time to think that things unravel for him.

I think spot on re the winger comment. His best moments for us have been through the inner right & left more direct channels. Especially the left.

The 'wingers' at Liverpool and Man City are the new breed. They can interlink, exchange lots of short passes, pass and move, they are quick and vibrant, can score goals. They press with intelligence rather than frantic ball chasing. I think he suits that style of play. Out of all our forwards he has played the most forward passes despite playing the least minutes. Be interesting to see where he is after the summer.

Ole does not have the balls to sell this guy anyway. He’s lucky.

MEN said he was injured.

Not sure i buy that he's really injured, especially after the rumours last week of the coaches blasting his attitude. I do wonder if he could be one of the ones sold.

Simply put: we won't be able to find anyone both willing to pay the fee we would want as well as his wages. Pochettino has been interested in him for a few years - whether that interest is still there is another story - but Spurs won't give us the money needed.

Or maybe it's all bs and Martial wasn't warmed up because of his injury? Maybe the media is trying to stir shite again? I don't think there's any truth to Ole blasting him, Ole just doesn't strike me as that type of person to begin with, which is part of why he may not succeed here.

You might be right but his poor form and crap running stats have been going on for awhile and with his no shows against Barca and other big games I wouldn't be surprised if there's not some truth in the stories.

So even when he doesn't play or involved in the squad, you lots find time to crap on him.

By the way I thought it's been confirmed that he was injured last week during warm.up which is why he couldn't do any running etc.

Anything is possible, I'm just saying there's video clips of him not doing anything, and people assume he's just being a brat and refusing to warm up, but now news come out that he's got a back issue which basically stops you from doing much at all. News media will jump at any ambiguous situation to create some drama.

I can't help but wonder if the same faith was shown to Martial as Rash gets if it wouldn't have made a difference? He's our best finisher out of all our forwards. Has good link up play and is actually unselfish. Yes we know his faults, but is being handled right? Is he feeling less confident because of the obvious bias towards Rash? He's far more talented than he is (except in the running stats), yet Rash gets all the opportunities. I still think Martial is better centrally.
I actually think Martial and Rash should play together as they complement each other. Rash with the hustle, Martial with the guile and technique and finish that we need.

I dunno. I just thought we should have pushed on with that combo instead of Lukaku and Rash. Rash doesn't play well with Lukaku except for the PSG game, whilst Martial links up well with both Rash and Lukaku. Just my humble opinion.

Is there some requirement that you have to buy it

I doubt it. For all the criticism Rashford gets, you cannot fault his attitude or work-rate. He is probably one of the few that look like they care.
Martial doesn't have the same fight in him, his work rate most weeks is poor.

I understand the work rate argument but you always need a balance on the pitch. You can run all day long but if you have no composure that what's the point? With Martial he can make something happen out of nothing. You also have to allow for the mercurial talents. It's up to the coaching staff to find the right balance and approach to different personalities.

This thing about Rashford working hard, on the commentary today they said Martial and Lukaku were rock bottom of the players in the league and Rashford wasn't far off them.

Rashford looks like he cares but we have a huge problem with the whole team not working.

Are they sure about that? I find it hard to believe that Rash would be near the bottom as well.

I wonder then if it's not work rate as such but something to do with our set up?

Can't we just loan him to some shit side in the bottom half so he can see what his future is going to be like if he doesn't get a fecking grip of himself?

There's a few players we have to sell this summer before they get found out and their price plummets.

How comes we didn't have any complaints with him under LVG? And LVG was pretty brutal with him, yet he didn't have a problem.
Maybe, he just needs to believe the manager believes in him and then when he gets the bollocking he knows it's for his own good as he recognised with LVG? I dunno.

He'd only been with us one season, and to be fair, Van Gaal did call him stupid for giving away a penalty once.

Seriously, stop making excuses for him. He's got everything he could possibly want for and more, if he wants to see people believe in him just take a look at your contract, it says 5 years + 1 and about £200k.

He's not good enough for a top club. Talent is a commodity, not utilising it isn't.

He's a few ahead of them tied with Son and a little behind Kane for distance. 1km more than Martial and 0.5km more than Lukaku.

More importantly he makes by far the most sprints in the side. More than twice the amount of Martial and Lukaku.

Work harder and earn that fecking trust.

This is exactly what's wrong with our players. They think they are better than they actually are.

He will never even get close to any of those players. Beyond being less talented, he will never match their hunger and work rate. The guy only does the bare minimum in one phase of play and they have the audacity to make comparisons.

Not a good look coming out with this.

If that's meant to be directed towards Ole or the club, he can feck off immediately as far as I'm concerned. That epitomises our issues right now. Players who haven't made it thinking their top stuff.

Let’s hope Martial had nothing to do with that, otherwise he’s a bigger idiot than I thought.

The cheek of his agent, putting him alongside those players when he isn't fit to start for Huddersfield or Cardiff in current form.

Disgraceful and this is the problem with players nowadays.
No matter how shit they are, the people at home tell them how amazing they are.

Giggs , Beckham , Ronaldo and Tony feckin Martial . He`s not fit to lace their boots . feck stats .

It's not like none of the other players there were questioned before is it?

Ronaldo (attitude, diving and not working hard enough) got dogs abuse, Beckham (attitude, image) got dogs abuse and I'm led to believe Giggs got abuse for being inconsistent. People have short memories.
