Deserves to be starting in PL at the moment. He's got the bit between his teeth and his a attitude compared to last season is night and day.
It's 2 assists. The keeper save doesn't count.
He's making himself difficult to ignore. He is one of the players we should be building the team around. Imagine how good he'd be if he felt he was important.
He should definitely be the focal point of our attack but I don't think we need to build the attack around him in a Ronaldo-esque fashion. He's very creative and should be most dangerous disrupting the opponent's shape instead of being the one getting on the end of chances.
I see him as our own Robben in time, and suspect that's what LvG had in mind when he bought him.

Not that it's particularly relevant either. We should field our best 11, and Martial is without question one of those.

Every time he gets the ball you feel something is going to happen and he is going to create something. He's the only player in our squad that can really create something out of nothing on his own.

Do you think there's a French attacker in better form? His chance of getting in NT atm is low but it's hard to overlook how good he's been.
M'Bappé isn't doing too badly at the moment but he is easily one the best currently performing for sure. Dembelé is out injured, Coman is incredibly overrated, perfect timing to be recalled but Deschamps is a very stubborn and narrow minded man.
Whatever our best attack is, it is becoming more and more challenging for some to put forward a credible case that he isn't part of it. He's so obviously one of our best forward players, can we stop fighting amongst ourselves?!
Well since the CL has started he has played at least 1 game a week, some players struggle to produce the same level of intensity with 2 matches a week.
Clearly though I agree if he fit (which you said and to be fair that includes tiredness) he should be starting.
Martial vs Rashford shouldn't even be a question since we should be playing both of them with Lukaku and dropping Mata.
Niall has it so the stats are automatically scraped off a website and the matchday backend won't load up for me at the moment so he'll need to change it. I think the thing that is confusing is that the Premier League and UEFA have different rules for their competitions about what constitutes an assist, so that wouldn't have counted as an assist in the PL but does in the CL. I might be wrong about that but I remember a similar discussion months ago on a goal like that.

Hopefully he is fit, he seems very focused this season so producing good performances in a row shouldn't be too surprising.
If he is fit for the next match, it would be criminal to start Rashford or Mata instead of him. He is so much better than any of our attackers bar Lukaku, and should be one of the first names in the sheet.
Yeah PL and UEFA count assists differently. If this was PL game then only 2 assists would have been counted for Martial.
He's a joy to watch when he plays like he did tonight, and he looks to really be taking on a creator role as well as running defenses ragged, he played two beautiful passes in to Lukaku and Lingard tonight that should have resulted in goals 5 and 6. Hopefully the knock isn't too serious and Jose isn't mad at him for coming off.

He might be even better, 3rd player on the team sheet for me. (Lukaku and de Gea being musts).
Very good game today, although against a terrible defence, he still did pretty much everything right. He needs these kind of games and also to be given the penalties to boost his confidence so that when we need him for the big matches, he'll be up for it.
Hope he is okay, and nothing too serious. I would rest him against palace but play him against Liverpool after the break. Hope by then he would have recovered.

No, he was asked about Martial and Mkhi as both came off but instead said Carrick wouldn't make the Palace game and Jones was unlikely with Fellaini having a hope. He did say he was going to play Martial for the 90 minutes.
Sort of suggests he was going to be benched again for the weekend game, heh.
I think we'd be completely stupid not to play Martial just off of Lukaku again just as we done today.

Regardless of how he plays at the weekend (if he's fit and starts) he should have bought himself at least 2 consecutive starts in the PL... Madness how it seems he's bargaining for a starting berth
