As long as Mourinho is the manager, it will be what it'll be. So no need to get upset, wound up about him not playing more. Accept the current mindset or just hit your head against the wall.
We are not a defensive team. And Martial doesn't have to only play in easy games with no pressure. He has stepped up many times in pressure games for us.
He isn't a defender though. He might score you a goal, if that's what you want.
Half of the caf are lapping the "look at all this defensive work this attacking player is doing" though. Because they have invested themselves too much into the new-ish manager and have probably warrior'd through too many debates on the internetz to defend him that they can't pull out anymore. Too far in.
He did brilliantly as a sub against Swansea and was rewarded the following week with a start against Leicester.
If he plays well in Moscow he'll keep his place in the team IMO.

I'm not sure it's as dependent on the form of the attackers as it is the fullback he deploys at LB. If it's Blind, I think he's fine with starting either Martial or Rashford. If it's Young, I think he's always going to gravitate towards Rashford just because he's more comfortable with Rashford's ability to cover for Young. At this stage of his career, I doubt Jose wants Young to start 2 games a week so I imagine based on the current rotation, he'll continue switching out Blind/Martial (and occasionally Shaw in League Cup/FA Cup) and Young/Rashford until an injury or the fixture list compacts.
It is looking that way sadly.I like how we're making up more things. It's a competition between the two (1/6 starts vs 5/6 starts and 300mins PL football more), Mourinho just has so much higher expectations for Martial, it's because he wanted to play Young so he has to play Rashford
It's simple, he has no long term plans for Martial at Manchester United.
He'll probably start in Moscow, best keeping him out of that team today.
You're a man on a mission, that's for sure .I like how we're making up more things. It's a competition between the two (1/6 starts vs 5/6 starts and 300mins PL football more), Mourinho just has so much higher expectations for Martial, it's because he wanted to play Young so he has to play Rashford

Even if he doesn't start against CSKA in Moscow he will get at least 10-15 minutes there.

Not if we're defending a narrow lead. If he is to come off the bench he has to hope we're comfortable or have a comfortable lead otherwise he'd sit the whole game out.Even if he doesn't start against CSKA in Moscow he will get at least 10-15 minutes there.
Obvious is he wants to sell him? Not sure I agree.Yes.
But come on, all the priceless comments, it's because of higher expectations, it's because of this, it's because of that, xyz defensive stats, it's tudelu
People are coming up with so many insane suggestions, completely ignoring the obvious.
Obvious is he wants to sell him? Not sure I agree.
It looks like it but then again who knows for sure ?I like how we're making up more things. No, it isn't. And even if he doesn't like him, and does sell him, who gives a shit? I've seen far better players than Martial come and go over the years and the club didn't cease to exist. He's played a total of 122 minutes in 6 games in the PL so far. And despite doing (very) well whenever given the chance, he never seems to be rewarded for it. It's obvious Jose does not like the boy.

You would sack arguably the best manager in the world in order to keep a player that has had one good season and one crap one. Jesus wept.I do. I'd sack Jose before selling Martial.
I do. I'd sack Jose before selling Martial.
The club won't seize to exist if Mourinho is sent packing either. We'll most likely do just fine. But yes, many here do care about a sensational talent at our club. And rightfully so.No, it isn't. Sensational? One good season, one crap one. Looked great against Burton. You people are nuts. The club won't seize to exist if Mourinho is sent packing either. We'll most likely do just fine. But yes, any here do care about a sensational talent at our club. And rightfully so.
Odd thing to say.No, it isn't. And even if he doesn't like him, and does sell him, who gives a shit? I've seen far better players than Martial come and go over the years and the club didn't cease to exist.
That's madness given he's been brilliant. He's played a total of 122 minutes in 6 games in the PL so far. And despite doing (very) well whenever given the chance, he never seems to be rewarded for it. It's obvious Jose does not like him.
Glad you're not Ed, then.
I do. I'd sack Jose before selling Martial.
Sensational talent. Learn to read.Sensational? One good season, one crap one. Looked great against Burton. You people are nuts.

If you can't see the difference in keeping one of the most successful managers in the world at our club, and keeping a kid who might be good or might not, then there's no point discussing this any further.Yep, I despise his defensive mentality and I'm not too fond of his personality either. And what's the big deal? As you said, the club wouldn't cease to exist.
Yes, one good season. One 'good' season? He carried our entire attack in his first season here, scoring 17 and making 11 assists as a 19 year old in a completely dysfunctional team. He was indeed sensational.
