Last four years have knocked the stuffing out of fans.
Even in his first season, his thread was littered with fear of Madrid taking him.
 
Mourinho had no problem booting Mata when he was their PoTY 2 years running, the idea that he was afraid of getting rid of Martial due to fans is clearly bs.

The guy hasn't been given a fair shake, but he is at the very least a useful tool for Mourinho at the moment.

He has form for freezing out players not in his plan. If as you said he doesn't fancy Martial as a player then Martial would suffer the same fate as Schweinsteiger last season.

I'm quite peeved that Martial isn't afforded more leeway to grow, and it may yet be the case that he never becomes the kind of forward Mourinho envisions him to be, but he is nowhere near as dispensable as you made out to be.
 
Really want him to succeed and become a great player we all want to see. Its equally important to Jose who is coined as a short term manager who don't give youngsters a chance. If he is sold, i would really get annoyed and that will be on Jose.

Best thing happened to him over the summer is that we failed to sign Perisic.

We'll certainly find out, it's only been 5 league matches so plenty of things can happen. However, unless there's long term injuries to key players, i'd be very surprised if Martial gets more than a substitutes role this season, most likely in combination with Lingard.

I was assuming he got 5 minutes because he'd play 90 vs Burton, which he did in the end. Jose seems to give Rashford and Martial 70ish minutes if they start or 20ish minutes from the bench (90 minutes each over 2 games). Obviously doesn't want to over play either, so 20 mins vs Everton + 90 mins vs Burton may have been more than Jose wanted to give Martial, hence the 5 minutes he got vs Everton.

He has to give Lingard minutes now and then whether you like it or not. He can't just play him against the lower league sides, that's not how it works. So Martial missed out, you don't need to make a conspiracy out of it.

If he was saving him for Burton then maybe he thought it would be a good game for him to express himself and keep building confidence. Nothing wrong with that, look at the prrformance and plaudits he's now getting.

Or, as per your theory, he saved him for the Burton game because he knew he'd blow them away and inflate his price more. I know which theory I find more believable.

I haven't said anything about inflating his price by playing him vs Burton, so i'm not sure why you're aiming that one at me.

You don't give players minutes for the sake of giving them minutes when we're struggling against Everton, he brought on Lingard as the preferred option over Martial, which doesn't really tie in with the theory that some have of Mourinho alternating between Rashford and Martial. It was a matter of preference, not for the sake of minutes.

He's in his 3rd season at the club, at best he's playing second fiddle to Rashford and isn't offered much time, most likely he won't be anywhere near the French national team for the world cup. Mourinho will look to sell him and the player will be interested in a move so that he can be a first team choice under someone willing to give him time. It's not exactly a shocking theory is it

Because Jose hates Martial and everyone loves Rashford and Martial has continental movement and none of it is fair...

And it's not like Mourinho isn't known to give one player lots of chances for a bunch of games in one competition and then give someone else a run the others. He's also only started 2 fewer games than Rashford this season.

Correct me if I am wrong but he did start a game recently. It's non a shocking theory, it's just made up.
