Sanchez has some poor games:
gets benched for the only competition worth playing for (FA cup)
No one bats an eye lid.

Martial gets benched for some poor games:
He needs to leave for his own sake, he would be one of the best players in the world with another manager
Martial has hardly had a poor game, I don't recall Sanchez having a great performance yet.

Actually he has lost his place to a player playing poorly, just before Sanchez signed Marital got 3 MoTM in a row. The issue is he is not in the team because of Sanchez, not because he is in poor form.

He literally just had a poor game against Brighton, before that he was poor against Newcastle and Tottenham.

In fact, if you look at our losses this season with Martial he has been poor in all of them That is because when he has a poor game it is like playing with 10 men because he is 90% on the ball as a player.

Martial's all round game is very much lacking, yet very few are willing to admit it because they fawn over his close control and dribbling.

There will always be excuses for Martial when he doesn't perform and over the top praise when he scores a goal or gets an assist despite doing very little else.

Posters hoping he leaves for his career
Not hoping. Don't pull things out of context. He is talented player with huge potential. Right? So future for him here is to fight for place with another talented player and one world class and most payed player in the club. It doesn't look that he will be regular starter. So again for him , is better to find a club where he will be in first 11.

He already lost his place in those games to Sanchez.
Fact is and that cannot be denied, he has performed better than Sanchez in a United shirt.

Well for the start, as United fans I think we should care about his future here not at other clubs I believe.

He doesn't have much of a future here. Rashford will probably be the first attacking sub on around 65-70 minutes with Martial on around 80. Seems we're looking to bring in another attacker next season which will put him further back in the pecking order. Would love him to stay but can't see it.

I agree. It would be a real shame. He's our De Bruyne

He played 90 minutes in both of those games with one half on the left wing. He didn't lose his place in those games, he interchanged. It's impossible to outperform someone in 2 months when that someone has been here for 3 years.

He is actually afforded more excuses than Rashford who has time and time again shown up in big games, and is also a local player that has massive potential. Lingard, another local player has had performances this season that Martial has not replicated once and has been pegged as a permanently average player.

This lad gets so many excuses because some are scared that he'll be a good player somewhere else. When the reality is that he's not good enough yet to demand a permanent starting place in the team. He is too easily neutralized to lead the attack at a top club; he needs to improve his decision making and vary his attacking patterns.

I really don't think Martial has kicked on since his debut. His talent is undeniable though, and that's what's gotten him to this point.

He's our De Bruyne
My fears also. My prediction; he will go in juve for 60 mil. They don't have left attacker( mandzukic covers that:lol:) so he will play as a starter and become world class player.
My only hope that mourinho learned lesson from salah and de bruyne situation.

Sometimes I am a fan of football first.

So many excuses? He is top in output of goals and assists out of the players you mentioned for the season, including Sanchez.

I'm sorry but I think we should sell Martial with buy-back clause if we need a money for a right-winger and If he's starting to shive in attacking system like Liverpool and City, we will not get him back until we get a new attacking manager after Jose departure. That's it. I can't stand that Martial is on the bench and really need to get a lot of time to develop.

I'm a fan of United only. If he leaves I'll be pissed because he didn't fulfill his potential here, not happy because his career is going to shine for another club! I have never understand the logic of posts like "for the sake of him he should leave". These posts don't make any sense from United fan perspective no matter how anyone can twist it.

Perhaps with buy-back clause, we sell to Juventus like Real Madrid with Morata so this is the only way we can prevent this so won't lose him for good, we can buy him back easily with the same clause if he becomes world class otherwive he'd be next Pogba that would cost us much for buying him back.

I certainly won't be happy if he left. I will be pissed if he stays here and hardly plays and his talent is not fulfilled though, that sort of thing is bad for football. And also actually down the line bad for the club if its a trend that continues.

Of course they make sense. If, for whatever reason, a player is not going to do well - relative to their ability - at one particular club then it’s extremely sensible to change teams. Being a fan of a particular club doesn’t mean you can’t be objective

Better for him, not better for the club I support I believe. If anyone is fine with that Ok, but it'll never make sense for me, as I only care about what each player will do in the club.

For that he would want to come back and there's no guarantee of that after the way we treated him last season, and to a certain extent this season too.

I don't see why there is news of him wanting to leave anyway? He's had a good season, he's only young of course he won't play every single game. He's improved a lot this season and I expect him to kick on next season and be even better.

Well if Sanchez is playing on the left, where do you see him playing? Its pretty obvious why he would be thinking about leaving especially since there are big questions marks over his world cup place. Also you say hes had a good season, well to him he probably thinks the same and he can't get in the team enough to hold down a place for the world cup. There are plenty of reasons for him to be considering, from the clubs point of view though not being a regular this season and with 11 goals and 11 assists and his talent, we should certainly not sell.

His average rating is higher than Lukaku. The Martial love affair is incredible

Would you say that Lukaku’s performances in general over the course of the entire season has been undoubtedly greater? I think that’s highly debatable.

I really don't think Martial has kicked on since his debut. His talent is undeniable though, and that's what's gotten him to this point.

He was very very good from the get-go here so why did he need to kick on?

There won't be an iota of blame on him from me if he decides to go elsewhere, he's risen to all the challenges placed on him ever since he got his transfer to United, only to be dropped for the new toy this season when he was kicking on.

Which is why folk say ‘for his sake’ - they are talking about what’s better for him, from his perspective.

I think he'll want to come back if Jose left and we get attacking manager, maybe we can get him back, obviously for cheaper with buy-back clause if he becomes world class.

And the sad part is we never really got to see him and Sanchez in the same lineup because of Jose's stubbornness. He would link up so well with Sanchez I feel.

I'm sure they both played the first few games together

Which shouldn't be the main target. The main target should be wanting him to fulfill potential here, not at another club. These posts are acceptable if they're coming from neutrals or French people, but from United fans it doesn't make sense. Again if someone is Ok with that, ok, but it doesn't make sense and make it look like you care for the player more than the club.

Here's the thing that I find misdirected about that: Martial is talented enough to be a starter, undroppable even. That being the case, if he is not starting on a regular basis, it is on him. Part of your job as a player is to do what the manager asks you to do for the team. In the modern game, often a tactical game of chess, unless you're one of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, you are not entitled to playing on your own terms in a team game.

If he fails here it is his own fault .

Apart from all those challenges like most games and opportunities

Martial has still played matches since Alexis joined, as has Rashford.
People like to make a mountain of a molehill when it comes to Martial. Leaving United won't help him get a World Cup place because there won't be another until 2022 anyway.
He will play on the left and alternate with Alexis and Rashford.
He absolutely has been a regular this season, it's crazy to suggest otherwise. There has been rumours about martial leaving since Mourinho first came and yet he is still here working hard and playing well for us.

Martial has a good mentality, probably better than many in this thread. If he has a new challenge (Alexis) he will strive to improve, not shy away to another club for more matches.

I love Martial and his output is impressive. I think he still has a lot of work to do over the next couple of years to be the player we want, and some already think he is.

Over 90 minutes he needs to be more influential and become more involved in the game. I fear that he was one of the players accused of hiding by Mourinho and Lukaku a few weeks ago because it's something he needs to work on, getting in a position to receive the ball. Too often he gets caught ball watching and waiting to receive the ball wherever he is stood.

It's good that a lot of our fans love the guy because he is, in terms of talent, a typical Manchester United attacker. However, some seem blinded by this and just can't see his issues. It's not Mourinho hating him or anything like that, Martial needs to improve.

Will love to see how people spin it when he's tearing it up elsewhere.

Plenty won't be that bothered if the incoming signing does better. A few pages ago some were saying he has a weak mentality so they'd probably put it down to his mentality not being good enough for us.

It'll probably be one of those things where if you bump a thread on the subject you'll be met with top red standard responses. Probably be rewarded with a snazzy title like the 'City Lover' or 'Verified(?) Moaner' ones.
