Is he part of the first choice XI now?
We'll see in a few weeks. This sounds promising though:

"[Anthony Martial] played very well against Middlesbrough but, because he was not playing for a long time, him and myself felt that 48 hours later against West Ham it was better not to start so, today, he was fresh and again very objective playing against a good player."

Well it depends who his upfront. When he plays with Ibrahimovic this makes him more of a traditional winger who has to focus on creating things for Ibrahimovic either through crosses or passes. If he plays with Rashford then the onus is to out pressure on the back line by dribbling & fast pace interplay.

He is stronger at one than the other IMHO.

In general I do agree with you to a certain extent but as Ibra also tends to drop deep to create for his runners. Evidently Martial is not as good being a traditional winger in your sense but as we have seen he doesn't need to be like that all the time when playing with Zlatan to be highly effective. Against Boro for example, even without being a direct threat to goal, I'd struggle to remember one time he couldn't beat Chambers.

I know he has shown last season he can do this, obviously. It's more that this season he hasn't been playing at the same level, and just because he was decent today doesn't mean he's back. That was all. I'm just not sure he's back at the form we want him at.
Yeah his form up until Middlesbrough wasn't great but he seems to have hit form now and is running at players like he used too, if he carries that on he will rack up goals and assists easy.

I'd like to see him play 90 vs Hull and Liverpool. He should have a lot more gas in the tank. Unleash our Tony

Seem like to start getting consistent/ easy to get into his first gear. However, his second gear is too low. Seem like dropping off a cliff performance wise if not require his first gear...

Great to see him back in form. Defenders have no idea what to do when he gets them square on and runs at them.

Rumours that we owe Monaco another €10m if he scores 2 more goals?

Any idea what that clause might be or if it's even true?

It's true. I see no problem with it. The next two clauses are harder to get.

Man Utd 2:0 Hull City
Has he scored a goal not using the inside of his R foot since his been here? Struggling to recall any goals where he uses his L foot, head etc.

I'm sure there is one, but now you mention it

Haha, even the one against Middlesborough I'm pretty sure he managed to half-volley it with the inside of his R foot while running forward at the ball.. pretty impressive really

Header away to CSKA, think he scored a header against Swansea in the league, had a few other decent headed efforts (not sure if any other headed goals though). It's basically the only finish he does with his feet though, which is his biggest weakness as a player IMO.

Good shouts all.. definitely agree that it is something he'll need to work on. Finishing variety can make the difference between a good player and a great one, IMO

He really needs to work on his finishing. I understand it's not an easy shot by any means but he's missed several chances he could have finished off this season.

He actually hit one with his instep from about 30 yards against Middlesborough I think, hit the post, first time I've seen him hit one from that distance

Looked lively again and his tenacity led to the second goal, the fans were singing his song before he came on for a pretty sustained period of time.

Left foot against Sunderland, Everton, Norwich and West Ham twice last season as well as the two headers.

Hoping he starts on the weekend. Looking much better now than at the start of the season, which looked like second season syndrome.

Man Utd 1:1 Liverpool
Up against Arnold today. Needs to get at him from the off and see what he's about.

Yeah, Arnold is guaranteed to be very nervous, and getting at him from the go will ensure that he won't be able to shake off that nervousness with confidence.

Seems like he is up against Arnold and three other liverpool players.

Very much, we've been completely unable to set him up against the full back. Pogba's disappearing act means Martial has to drop too deep to get the ball.

Triple marked all game, but should've been more active and demanding of the ball. Some nice moments though

He had the beating of his man so easily but then lost out to the press from the other Pool players, he needs to do better at isolating his fullback and we could have done better at finding him a bit quicker.

I thought he did reasonably well in the first half, the lack of any support from his fullback in temrs of an overlap made it very difficult for him.

It's not particularly easy to isolate your fullback considering the way Liverpool setup and the lack of pressure from Darmian. Liverpool had free reign to double/triple/quadruple (i remember 2 instances where there were literally 4 players swarming Martial as soon as he got the ball) and there wasn't much Martial could've done about it.
