Lingard is a squad level player and Rashford is looking that way too.

Yeah, i had a simmilar impression.
He's like Nani. He has all the attributes of quality players but lack in decision making and intelligent play. Nani did come good but it's gonna be a long windy road along the way.
He also doesn't have experienced wingers to learn from. We had Sharpe, Becks, Giggs and then Ronaldo throughout decades but still even then talent is there to be a proper United player. He looks miles better than Januzaj.
Incredibly frustrating to watch. He can go past players with such ease but he usually ends up running into another player or two. He needs to learn how to isolate a player better, his overall movement is lacking though.

You don't turn a striker into a winger just by snapping your fingers even when he is eager to make that change. Also people should remember that for example Griezmann on the wing is half the player that he is in the middle and also that most players aren't Cavani.
I don't think anyone want him to be sold. If United wants to give him time, we should get established players in other positions to make up for his expected inconsistency. Just like when United had young Ronaldo.

I dont think Martial has evolved as a player this season; he still plays like last year but against teams who now know his strengths.
This is why we need proven players in. We cannot depend on young players because they are still developing and are inconsistent. They need the proven ones around them to take the load off their shoulders.
Sounds like only logical outcome if Martial's learning curve continue for a bit. Since Nani & Di Maria were sold plus Valencia with Young were designated to defense I really don't know what are we waiting for.
I am just hoping to God it's just second season syndrome. The guy's clearly got a lot of talent, he just needs to start using it. Getting rid of him would be silly. Just give him and Rashford time.
He was frustrating today. He has the ability to get past players but then has a bit of a brain fart as to what to do with the ball next and it often went to no one or a WBA defender. However, having said that, the other attacking players were not moving to create space...so it was quite hard to target anyone.
Its more likely that last year was a one off. He will continue to get better once he focuses on the mental game.

There is more to football than just taking on a man and he doesn't have it. Sure he is very good at beating a man but in games like today with 8 man camped on the top of the box it isn't going to work. He is way too one dimensional to ever become what he has been touted as such as a ballon d'or winner, he won't come close to that. He has one skill which by all means he is world class at but it isn't enough to become a top player. He isn't someone to lead a top team.

Think he will be gone in the summer. Talent is there but too inconsistent. Jose points at this in his press conference tonight.
i wasn't trying to compliment him. just surprised at the bulk of the activity i've seen on the forum today being here considering there were players that did worse than him.

Think Jose is preparing to sell/loan him and the likes of Rashford. Jose simply prefers experienced players who will perform consistently.
Didn't think he was terrible today.
Jose already got rid of Memphis so maybe there's space in the squad for both Rashford & Martial plus new additions especially in 4 competition system that we're still trying to adapt and find balance.
Bale vs Martial is no comparison and he'd definitely perform for us. Which is unfortunate because I can't stand Bale.

Martial has frustrated me a lot this season. He's just rarely been sharp in games. His movement is awful. His dribbling has been hit and miss too. His shooting ability leaves a lot to be desired.
