Wasn't a perfect performance but he got two assists and had some other nice moment so hopefully that's enough for him to earn a start against Hull.
 
Oozes quality, he really deserved a goal today. BBC commentators were a joke trying to pick on him throughout.

Earlier this season we seemed to play on the counter attack well, we would do it even better if we started with Mkhi, Martial, Pogba, Valencia and Shaw.
 
Two assists and basically a goal. Enough to start against Hull?
 
His technical skills are great. Needs to improve his off the ball movement if he wants to be one of the best players in the world. Too static most of the time.

doesnt mean he cant play better, bar that one game in which he was excellent, it's a mixed bag all year but for sure it's good when he produces despite not hitting the form yet, invisible in the firt half today and much better in the second, but only a wigan who lost a motivation in the second half.. let's hope he performs in tougher games..
 
Don't know what Mourinho said to him at half time...but it was a definitely a game of two halves for him. He's so much better on the left at the moment....he uses the space very well.
 
Excellent second half, and got 2 goals. Hopefully he starts the next game, but it's by no means a guarantee as Mata and Mkhitaryan are also fighting for starting positions and both had very good games. I would start all 3 personally, and not use carrick for the hull game, but we'll see.
 
Lineker just said that he heard Martial was devastated after his experience at the Euros...

Hope he's getting over this.... have to put it behind him. Good 2nd half performance. Happy he got the assists.

Got 2 assists. But I don't think he's happy without his goal. He makes so many runs but there is a lack of quality passes to him. Even Mkhi's goal, he should have been given a better ball, but a poor pass from Mkhi pushed him wider and forced him to assist. I hope Mourinho persists with him for the next selection
 
Usually a good game for Martial means having the run of the fullback which he didn't today but he still produced two great bits of play meaning a good game. Deserves the start against Hull.
 
Don't like the pressure Mourinho has put on him, you could see how much it was affecting him during the first half. Pochettino or Arsene would have him scoring plenty. He doesn't look happy here at the moment, and looks like the type of player who needs support not public critism, thats a real shame. He has so much potential and I am glad he got 2 assists, hardly a shabby performance but I doubt it will be enough for Mourinho and the 'magnificant' performance he wanted.
 
I think the Caf body language experts are always funny, but the diagnosing of Martial as deeply unhappy at the minute because he looks grumpy on the pitch are the best we've ever had.

He's been handled horribly. Another decent game today though. That's all he can do really. Jose needs to support him instead of fcking with him the whole time
 
Please just start him ahead of Lingard. He has got 7 assists/goals in 7, more than Lingard and Rashford and Mata.

Come on, Mata did nothing today. Martial actually influenced the game while Mata went into hiding.

Again I think my standard and you standard greatly differ. In my opinion Martial has been mediocre in yours he has been something like Giggsy. You definitely do not need a license to write in a forum but that is why I would rather trust one of the most successful managers in the world than you.
Now about the Mourinho lover part, yes I am definitely starting to love him because the team is playing really well, is a joy to watch most of the time and I have seen real progress. I am optimistic about the future and the manager has won me.
You say Martial has been our best LW player this season, I am saying he is not. Jose is saying he is not. I may be wrong, I do not know, but then I would rather believe Jose than you. You can write whatever you want about how good he was because he did a cross against Liverpool or because he had a good game against a Championship team but I do not agree with that. Throughout the season he has been mediocre at best. His contribution is close to 0. When you keep saying one and the same thing all the time the only thing I can do is to stop caring what you think. When you watch Martial, you see Messi. When I watch Martial I see a player who has talent but looks lazy, does not work for the team and contributes a lot less than other players who can play in this position. I am saying all the time that he possesses special talent but it is up to him to fulfill that potential. If the manager thinks that he does not deserve to play that is fine with me. I trust him. I do not understand Martial's body language or his mentality. I will be the happiest person in the world when he starts delivering week in and week out but at the moment he is not. I really do not understand on what basis he has to be an automatic starter. I really see no point writing one and the same thing all the time. Now you are going to write but he was very good against Reading and Liverpool and I have to start writing the same thing all over again. The only match-winning performance from him was against Boro. He was definitely our best player then and he plays like that every game this discussion would be pointless. But that is a couple of games for the whole season. That is simply not good enough for a player worth 50 million quid. I am saying all the time that he is our greatest talent but he simply has been mediocre. That's the bottom line...

Does he need to sort himself out though? He's a very good young player. If he needed to sort him out so much he'd be crap and we'd all be happy to get rid of him. All he needs is a better relationship with his manager. That could be just as much Jose needing to sort himself out
