Ante Rebic...

Wasn't he the Croatian who couldn't cross a ball to save his life?

Yep. Kept getting lumped in with Perisic as "Croatia's impressive wingers" for some reason.

Million miles difference between their quality.

Also a left winger.

Please no. This pre-season is depressing enough without being linked to this guy. Malcolm was available for less and is far superior

from what I remember his best position is left attacker...... thats the one position we have far to many players in.

He could turn out to be a Ji Sung Park type player. He'll run all day and make life an absolute nightmare for the opposition while the likes of Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez do most of the attacking work but also a player who will be able to pop up with the goals once in a while. Jose would more than likely turn him into a very effective player for us and would constantly hail him as the unsung hero in the same way Fergie always went on about how important Park was.

An underwhelming signing that could turn out to be essential cog in what Jose is trying to build.

Yup dirty cnut too, should have been sent off at least twice during the WC and just came across as a complete thug.

Do not want.

 you've seen him only at the WC and came up with that conclusion. Brilliant.
At no point he should have been sent off. You made that up.

He’s mint isn’t he mate, let’s sign him.

Did I say that? Mate.
I just said you made up he's a thug which he's not.
Mate

6 goals 2 assists last season mate

2 goals the year before mate

feck it you know better let’s sell Martial and sign Rebic

top class lad

Yeah but would Malcom have come here if Barca were still knocking? I doubt it.

What's wrong with you? Can you actually read?

You came in here dick swinging trying to tell me what I saw, he’s a dirty cnut and should have seen a straight red against Argentina for nearly snapping Salvio’s leg and from then on he was giving fouls away the whole tournament on a regular basis including against England in which he must have been penalised about about 7 times before the ref decided to book him.

I don’t want him here regardless his team got to the WC final and he didn’t impress me one bit, that and his 9 goals in 2 seasons is enough for me to form an opinion.

Snapping Salvios leg, giving fouls away?
Yeah you're talking bollocks.

Just google it dude the incidents are there to see, you must have seen it.
I watched every game. Tackle on Salvio was bad granted but our blaho ti se a di je to? were stamped on 2 times before that so maybe it was in the heat of the moment. Other than that he didn't give fouls away how you put it and against England nothing special happened certainly. It's just silly to tag someone a thug you've seen play maybe in what 4,5 games in total.

not sure where this link came from, he's tier below Perisic who is just about good enough for us

I can't profess to be an expert on this guy as I don't watch much Frankfurt but he stinks of a better than average player who had a good World Cup.

There are so little options now for RW that people are considering Rebic and Perisic & Willian are our best options (considering their quality and not age). So unlucky.

Shaqiri would have been much better for 12m and I reckon we missed a beat with that one. Bargain in the current market.

This has to be a smokescreen for something bigger. I can’t seriously imagine our standards have dropped so much that Rebic is a serious option for our RW.

What will he bring? I would rather stick with Lingard and Rashford and save the money.

Coming from a club that signed Paul Pogba for 90+ million, I think that Rebic would be a bargain.

I can understand some of the negative comments about Rebic on here. If I'm honest I held them myself.
Last season though I changed my mind as his performances in the Bundesliga merited it.

He is a player who gets stuck in, wins the ball, and runs at defences causing panic. There are some right footballing snobs on here if they think that is a problem.

I don't think Rebic had a particularly great WC mainly because he was not played in a similar manner to the way Kovac played him.

However he is very much capable of game changing events. . . . I mean that in a positive way of course.

FWIW . . . Rebic will more than likely end up at Bayern.

People say he played well in Frankfurt, I only watched the Cup final and he scored 2 goals against Bayern, plenty of pace and power in that game he made Hummels look like a fool. The thing is, Frankfurt usually played with 3 at the back so he was one of the forwards (left-sided forward), against Bayern it was a 433 and he played on the left, he was out of his preferred position in the world cup

So if United want to sign a RW, why him? it makes no sense.

Like someone said here, mid level premier league team player type of signing, the market has gone mad

Rebic was rushed back from injury for the cup final. . . Frankfurt basically played a 4-5-1 for that match and Rebic was key to the victory. His performance that day was the difference and there's no way EF would have won the German cup without Rebic.

I'd say the vast majority of posters have not seen Rebic outside of the WC.
Most would not admit that they never heard of him before the WC

But it's clear that Niko Kovac, former EF & now Bayern manager, rates him highly.
Others, like Mourinho & Pochettino, seem to have considered him.

When will you lot learn that certain players elevate teams due to qualities that they have which may not be as apparent as goals and assists?

What's the guys name who played wingback for Chelsea in their latest title win, but had been rubbish for a few years prior to that?

This is true even of strikers (loads of top strikers who don't score loads of goals but really add value to the team). Jose is our manager, back his judgement or sack him.

He's not. You can call him average but he's not thug like Alli or Suarez.

Didnt you learn anything from Perisic thread, what the hell are you going, leave this thread
