Ante Rebic...

The whole market has gone mad. He’s the kind of player a mid level premier league team would have signed for about £5 million a few years back.

I'm assuming he's backup for Lukaku, because, he can't be for the RW. Although, he does have more energy than Mata so.....
He doesn't score enough... If that's all you ask, then re-sign Welbeck would do the job for cheaper and having bonus of filling homegrown quota. The fee being throwing out there is laughable.

I agree, but Jose doesn't have 2 years to wait for that to happen. And he has that work ethic Jose loves in players. If we do buy him I can easily see us getting rid after Jose leaves and put Tahith in

Agree with you on that, Rebic will not strengthen us at all. Why not play Sanchez on the right and Martial on the left and rather fix our problems on LB/CB instead.

One can only assume that if it's not for his goalscoring prowess, then he really is a RW target and is being purchased because, as witnessed for Croatia, he's a 90 minute grafting forward.

Our RW really is the elephant in the room. How long has it been since we had a man wide who could do something on the right? the last two were Nani and Valencia (early RW Antonio). But here's the thing, though. It's true, you don't need two wingers on both sides, but you do need width on both sides. If, on one side, for example, Sanchez is wide, then Young can play inside, whereas, on the right, we can have someone like Mata on the right and come inside, but, it's absolutely imperative that the RB (Valencia, whoever) provides the width on that right. To his credit, Valencia does do the right thing on the right and overlap Mata, but that's where it stops. Antonio checks back and passes sideways or back because it's easy to double-team a full-back who doesn't trust himself in advanced positions. So, if Valencia is remaining as a right back, then to me it has to be a proper RW who will run like Antonio won't. Rebic won't do that.

His agent is trying everything to sell him for big money at the moment, because he has still the small hype since the DFB pocal final against Bayern.

Can't imagine a good CL club will sign him, especially for this money.

I rate him less than Shaqiri who was available for 10m...
50 for Rebic would be just brutal.

People want the manager sacked and are using a rumour he wants to sign Rebic to back this up?

I don't understand some people.

And yet people take the piss out of RAWK

Mental posts on here this summer

he had a solid WC and one great game against Bayern in the cup final. But other than that? Meh. He had 6 goals in the Bundesliga last year (only 2 since November!) ... he's an okay player, but certainly not worth the money that's been quoted and IMO he's not good enough for a top club. He's just been riding on that cup final+WC hype wave a bit and it's obvious his agent wants to capitalize while his stock is high.
Coincidentally, as many as Willian got last season. Extremely encouraging signs.

Would have to agree. Madness if we pay above 25 million for him.

Will be devastated if we sign this guy. Especially at the money quoted. Would be inexcusable from our board/club.

If we get this guy, we can forget about enjoying this season - Jose is seemingly targeting clogging workhorses over talented attacking players for that flank. He is a typical Jose player - big, strong, good engine, bit of a nasty streak (in my eyes, a prick, but that's just me - hated what I saw of him at the world cup, downright thuggish and lacking in talent).

Our transfer strategy is ridiculously bad for such a 'big' club.

105m euros, still attainable for us now they have signed Malcolm and dembele is unsure as to his standing in the team.

If Barca is open to selling Dembele we should be all over that, but since his name isnt Bale chances are Woodward wouldnt care.

A mid level bundesliga team literally signed him for about £2 million this summer.
