What did?
well this went quiet
Universidad de Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli is urging Angelo Henriquez to resist a move to Manchester United.
Speculation has claimed that Premier League side United are close to finalising a £3million deal to add the 18-year-old striker to their squad.
"We don't agree much with the idea of a player leaving so young, but we don't know what previous agreements are there," Sampaoli told Prensafutbol.cl.
"It would be painful for the club for him to leave at such a young age and not allow us to enjoy his development.
"It seems we are suffering from the same problem that affects Argentina, with young players leaving more and more early."
Regardless, there may not be any definite news on this until La U is done with the tournamrnt, which could be the end if June if they reach the finals.
His club, Universidad de Chile (aka "La U") takes on Boca Juniors in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-finals on Thursday at 8:30pm Eastern US time.
Not sure if he's likely to play or not, though.

Ha, yeah right. What he is really saying is: United are taking the player for only £3M because they had such foresight to do the deal when he was 15 years old. This pisses is off because we want to hawk him out to the highest bidder now that the other big clubs are fighting for him, but we can't do feck all about it."We don't agree much with the idea of a player leaving so young, but we don't know what previous agreements are there," Sampaoli told Prensafutbol.cl.
Looks like something is happening.
Good point. What this also says is that the lad is probably leaving, they seem to be resigned to the fact. Will be interesting to see if he goes out on loan to FC Twente etc? Am I imagining it or does the lad hold an Italian passport, or otherwise qualify for EU citizenship?
So if thats the case we may as well leave him were he is for a couple of seasons. He'll get better and playing in the copa libertadores against the likes of Boca than he will playing for FC Twente.
How young were Ronaldo when he started knocking on the first team door?
Fergie usually likes to wait for younger players to develop whilst playing first team football before he makes a bid. He's said a few times when signing players that he's waited a few years or he's mentioned that he only bid because of interest from other clubs. Probably the same case here, unless there is another club coming from him, he won't move anytime soon.

What shirt number is he? Found a stream. What was the score in the first leg?Just scored a great goal to put Universidad 1-0 up against Cobreloa took a long kick from the keeper on his chest turned an beat a couple of men and scored from the edge of the box with a great strike
route 1 football. looks like he'll fit into English football np.
Depends when the reported first option agreement ends though doesn't it? If that agreement is in place and ends this year say, then surely we'd sign him at the lower agreed price and loan him somewhere, rather than wait for the agreement to end and sign him at a later date at an increased fee.
cos that's how English teams play
According to several websites, we've signed him:

So whats the deal in place? Do we even have one? For a year I have been reading we are going sign him but so far have not. Do we have first option or is the deal going to be completed soon? Maybe this summer?
To be fair, La U's midfield was complete crap, or at least just overwhelmed by Boca. They barely had possession across midfield, let alone many opportunities to feed the ball to the forwards. Henriquez started coming back to midfield for the ball now and then to get any touches at all. But it's really hard to make any judgement on a forward when his team can't get possession, hold possession, or form any kind of attack. Is Henriquez even playing? I haven't heard his name once I think.
