Angelo Henriquez

His nickname is something from dragon ball z as well. Gohan or Goku or summit.

I know someone will probably bump this in 2015 when he's just scored the winner for us against Anzhi Makhachkala in the Champions League Final but... who?

Angelo Henriquez, he's Ruud and Henry combined.

Anyone seen him play. Who does he play like? Is he purely a poacher or more well rounded?

Football journalist who covers S.America. Knows his stuff too. Don't think anyone said we should care "more" about Vickery's opinion - but will be interesting to see what he says about Henriquez. Vickery's written quite a lot about S.American players moving to Europe too soon.

Vickey's knowledge is excellent when it comes to South American football.

Does anyone know exactly when that World Football podcast is done? I download it but you can listen live..

It's definitely being reported by a wide variety of papers rather than just one looking for some website hits. Same with the Modric story.

Not that that means anything, really.

He looks about 30.

Just listened to Tim Vickery and he rates him very highly but feels the move to United might be a bit early and needs to keep on playing.

Apparently the option expires next summer so we don't have to sign him until then. I speculated earlier in the thread that we would probably wait until next year to sign him. It would only make sense to use the option now if we intended to bring him to OT right away.

I'll be excited at the signing if it happens. Nothing better than signing an unknown player and seeing how he develops.

Looks a stocky so and so too for a 18 year old.

The injury to Will Keane might have a lot to do with buying him an year earlier i reckon.

Does Tim think we'll just put him in the first team and let him sink? Bringing him in and loaning him out or whatever isn't a bad thing. I don't think you can get there too early, personally. We could easily buy him and loan him back to the club we bought him from....if we wanted.

he won't break into our first team straight away. if he does that then it is going to be a very big surprise.

he can stay where he is for another year even if we sign him anyway. his club is doing well back there.

or like someone posted above, he can be loan out and play somewhere in europe, to gain more experience as well as to get his permit.

does look like a top class player in the making from the short videos i've seen of him.

No loan outs, he can battle it out with our other strikers for playing time.

He's 18, isnt he? Far too young to be competing for a 1st team slot, would much rather him play regularly and develop his game.

So if thats the case we may as well leave him were he is for a couple of seasons. He'll get better and playing in the copa libertadores against the likes of Boca than he will playing for FC Twente.
