Has he signed for Madrid? I really hope he has because he simply is not as good as people seem to keep saying he is.
Where did that come from?

now, if next summer angel di maria does not have a contract extension, he'll be going into 24 months left on his current deal (and he's not exactly that highly paid though he got recent wage bump), i can see us looking hard at him given fergie's love for a wideman.

So he has 3 years left on his current deal?
pointless bump

yes, next summer it'll be 2.
Lame bump.
Perfect timing though.
If next summer angel di maria does not have a contract extension, he'll be going into 60 months left on his current deal. One to look out for.

That Lucas Moura has only got five more seasons at PSG before he becomes a free agent; him being a wide man and all I'd be surprised if Fergie isn't already interested.
Real Madrid has extended the contract of its Argentine winger Angel di Maria until 2018, the club said Thursday, sealing his place as it seeks to retain the Spanish league title.
Man Utd, Manchester City and PSG, vying for Di María
HUGO CEREZO. MADRID 05/03/2013
Ángel di María already has one foot outside of Real Madrid. Three teams have made enquiries about 'El Fideo': PSG, Manchester United and Manchester City. The trading floor is now open...
Interest from PSG and United isn't new. Back in February, this newspaper reported that both clubs were keeping tabs on his situation. Ferrán Soriano's City side has recently joined the race, with both him and the club's owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, enjoying excellent relationships with Florentino.
PSG has been moving fast in recent weeks and looks to be in pole position to sign him. The team's macro-project continues to rumble on, and signing the player from Rosario is one of the club's main objectives. There are already two Argentines playing in the French capital, Pastore and Lavezzi, and the latter, in particular, is good friends with Di María
City has an advantage though, in that the Premier League is more appealing than the French league, and The Citizens also have another Argentine friend of Di María - Kun Agüero. The arrival of 'El Fideo' at City would most likely go hand-in-hand with the Nasri's exit.
The third club in the race is United. Di María has long been a target for Ferguson, who was already interested in him back when he played for Benfica. Despite the Premier League champions not having the same spending power as their noisy neighbours, sir Alex recently said: "We're competitive in the market - we're not Chelsea or Manchester City in terms of money but we're competitive. We've been doing a bit of work on that over the last three or four months, targeting who the players are that we feel could enhance us, make us better or help us maintain the level we're at", and one of those players is Di María.
Far too hit and miss, we'd be better served just keeping hold of Nani. At least with a run of games you know he could recapture his best form, at which point i think he's better than Di Maria.

Agreed. I think most United fans agree that there aren't many options out there that can replace Nani, especially not if you take price into the equation. However, there is the contract dispute and somewhat inconsitent play (albeit ever so slightly exaggerated) to consider also.
