It doesn't matter what he says. Muppetlord Florentino Perez has the final word.
Yeah, good point. Altough it isn't very likely we'll bring in another big name. Even for Perez, that would be a bit much.

James, Kroos and Navas is not a bad summer. No complaints here. :p

Wait till you see the summer we end up having.

True, and if Falcao arrives Di Maria has to be sold, which immediately reduces the number of goals Falcao (and Ronaldo) will score. That's not just a money thing, they've run out of non-EU player positions.

However, I think if Falcao was going there, Perez would not be gambling on selling Di Maria this late in the window. In fact, I don't believe that he would have bought Navas (using his last non-EU place) if Falcao was really in the plan. Of course if the Falcao price drops enough Muppet Perez might find it all too tempting.

You guys have the ultimate flavour of the month signing philosophy. Its just astounding how only 3 Fifa World Player of the Year have not played for Real since 1996. Those 3 are Ronaldinho, Messi and Rivaldo. They were Barca players which stopped Real from buying them (not like it stopped them from buying Figo though...)

From the Telegraph:

United have been encouraged to bid for Di Maria after Paris St Germain's attempts to sign him stalled but sources insist that "the numbers do not work" at this point, with a fee in excess of £50 million being asked for.

The numbers don't work

That's what happens when you desperately need players.

He's easily one of the top 10 (arguably top 5) best players in the world at the moment, I'd expect him catch 50m at the very least!

Numbers do not work. Good to see that drivel about being able to break the world transfer record wasn't just a load of old pony then.

Let's be honest, the numbers don't work! But why don't we just do everyone a favour and either pay up or move on.

Woodward wanted to pay £50m for Cavani to be his marquee signing .

And won't pay the same for Di Maria who is miles better.

So £50m pound for a 26 year old who is probably in the top three wingers in world football. Scandalous how dare they.

"We are willing to break the transfer record if we want a player" Ed Woodward July 2014

Woodworm was talking about football manager 2014

A game of Chess is being played out between Utd and Madrid over Di Maria says Guillem Ballague.
